First time reaction to kpop and I thought we should go off with Kpop's best rappers.
Daniel Vince has never heard Kpop so I threw him in the deep end with this ultimate list of kpop Rappers.

Omg, he literally said what YG himself always said about what he wants from his artists, naturalness, not being too much. Blackpink had that natural swag and talent without trying too hard what made me stan them.

I wouldn't say 4-6 years of training 12-16 hours a day, with one day off every other week, is "without trying too hard". They are certainly talented, but they look effortless because they worked their asses off to be able to do it.

Those were that time where kpop have a bit lack of these kind of rap from girl group. I just hope these amazing girls got to participate in their work more because they are just talented

Im really shocked as well as to how he pointed out those things about Blackpink within the first few seconds of seeing them. That’s what actually draws a lot of Blackpink fans to them. They actually seem to be one of the closest groups in terms of a real group bond. They post less about each other on social media than other groups but they constantly and consistently speak about each other at random times. I think that’s what really sells their close friendship to me because it’s easy to sit in front of a camera and fake it, but the fact that they constantly and willingly hang out with each other off camera outside of just “making music and filming” and we don’t know about it till their stories a week later is really telling. Also what helps ppl really attach to their music is the fact that their music itself is just so GOOD and different sounding from others. Like listening to DDU DDU DU, Boombaya, stay, whistle, How You Like That, Lovesick girls etc, you get something different each time. You really can’t guess what’s coming next.

I feel the same about blackpink honestly.. like there are tons of great music and group in kpop but oddly enough I just had this interest in blackpink that made me a fan. Like might be their character or whatnot but it's something I cannot explain. Same goes for IU as a solo artist.

The more people who hear Mark’s iconic Jopping rap, the better. I don’t want to overwhelm Daniel with NCT info, but if he’s reading this I will say that Mark Lee is probably the first Kpop rapper from SM Entertainment that the rest of the industry acknowledged for his talent. Historically the company hasn’t been known for its rappers.

I've been blink for 5 years...you are right about BLACKPINK for me they are queens of K-pop I was never as interested in any group as BLACKPINK, but once I got to know ATEEZ to be honest, I really needed to spread my love to them all his abilities are amazing they come from a small camp I don't know. I used to slide them past. If I could turn back time, I wouldn't. but one day, I listened to the song Say my name after which I had to find out who they were I fell in love with their vocals for only 4 minutes ATEEZ songs make my heart flutter every time I listen to it. I've never followed any fancam like BLACKPINK but ATEEZ they made me follow every fancam, every stage. I always said to myself that I wouldn't follow any group except BLACKPINK to ATEEZ is my only exception. I want you to delve deeper into ATEEZ They are amazing kids and really cool music styles!!!

I have been a blink for quite a while and Idk why but I was never interested in Ateez and would just skip past their vids but last year Idk why I clicked on Turbulence and fell in love with it upon first listen. Now, I'm an Atiny who loves Ateez very much not just because they're really talented and self-producing idols, but also because of their amazing personalities. I wish I could turn back time and stan Ateez sooner so I could spend more time with them 🥲but in all of Ateez's song there's a distinct Ateez sound just like Blackpink has their own too. I agree with you that Say My Name is a really ear catching song and that it deserves more attention.

I feel like there needs to be a separation between watching the videos and hearing the raps. Because most groups have a rap component versus being a rap-only group, the listening to the flow, seeing the lyrics, understanding the meanings is one part of the equation. The sound production, quality, music is another, and finally the visual of the video or the stage presentation. I think they can be and should (deserve?) to be considered apart from one another. It's easy to make a memorable video for a less-memorable song and vice versa, but the standouts are when the total package comes together. So maybe a feature of "here's the lyric video" for the first part, a re-listen to get the music, and then a watch of the MV and/or dance practice? Kpop seems to have created the distinguishing feature of a music culture built around a completely different foundation; no idol is "just" one thing, and they create these artists as an industry (we can argue whether that's a good or bad approach!). I love hearing the insights into the production and techniques, but I think it's too easy to be dazzled by a flash video rather than a deeper dive into the artistry that creates it. Thank you so much for these reaction videos. They're certainly fun to watch.

Ive always love rap. And i think skz got the best rapline in kpop. Idk but their raps arent common and they have their own flows and distinct voices. Of course we have other groups with good rapline too such as monstax. For solos i really love CL, MINO, BOBBY, YOUNGJI, BIG NAUGHTY etc. There are lots more.

I would recommend you to listen to these female rappers Exy of WJSN Jeon Soyeon of (G)- Idle Moonbyul of Mamamoo LE of EXID To me, the best true female idol rappers. The rest, to me aren't even close.

I think the group he is gg he is looking for at 20:42 is Dreamcatcher since that is he was looking in the second half and moused over the other groups. It was the group you watched at 12:10 in the reaction. Dreamcatchers main genre is rock so it does not always have big rap parts in they're title tracks. If you wants to check out some off they're title tracks I would recommend Boca or Scream. But if you want to hear more of the rapper I would recommend Dreamcatchers cover of Bang Bang Bang. Dami the main rapper of Dreamcatcher added an extra verse at the start.

For a rapper who was there to react to kpop rappers (as the title would suggest), he sure didn't comment a lot on the actual rapping. 🤔 I mean, I get it... the visuals are incredible (especially mind blowing for newbies), but I kept yelling "duuuuude focus!" whenever he would start going on about colors, clothes and video production while a fire rap was happening. 🤦‍♀️😄 Kinda stressful to watch tbh.

Yeah exactly, I was expecting more opinions on the different flows, voices and wordplays. But I get that the mv’s can be very distracting in kpop, but it takes a way the purpose of the compilation.
