From the UK here I love that Dave was mentioned, you guys need to go back and listen to his early mixtapes and singles as well as his albums if you want to really take him in, the UK has so much talent that goes unnoticed that you guys need to explore as well
I am such a fan of denzel but he will never have a song as good as survival tactics. Joey is a better lyricist, has more classics and has better projects overall. I am taking joey all day. People kind of treat like joey is washed and i cant understand that, 2000 is amazing.
Denzel’s catalog is better than Joeys on really ever scenario for me personally. Denzel never misses and he brings something completely different every album. Joey may have mastered the boom bap style but he is not reaching his artistic peak with albums like 2000 while Denzel is getting there rapidly.
Wow, I’m really learning about the new taste in music here it’s interesting. I came up in the 2000s - 2010s era hip hop and hearing that Gunna, Yeat, Lil Baby, Playboi Carti are seen as top MCs and versatile is just a different take for me to digest.
@@slackstarfish8133as someone who absolutely loves Denzel’s music, I’d say he needs just one more solid album to be considered perfect overall. Because Nostalgia 64 was good for his level and age at the time. Imperial was a great sort of just mixtape of hard bangers. TA13OO was amazingly thought out album that juuuusssst missed out on that perfection due to a lack of fleshing out the whole concept of the album with the three mind sets. ZUU was fun, but there were a few meh songs, it was nice to see Denzel go back to his roots however and some of my absolute favorite songs come from that album (see RICKY and WISH). Unlocked was an awesome mixtape of old school, boom bap style of rap, and it’s always awesome to see Denzel and Kenny work together. The closest thing to perfection we’ve gotten from Denzel in an album form was Melt My Eyez See Your Future. I don’t think there’s a single skip in that project, production is damn-near perfect, and his storytelling and subject matter was so fucking good. Overall, he’s absolutely amazing as a rapper, and is a better songwriter than most of his peers. But due to the lack of fully fleshed out albums, I don’t think it’s perfect yet.
@@drippiestz I definitely see where you're coming from, but also you disregarded imperial so quickly. I think that that's a project very similar in quality to his other big albums. Other than that, I definitely agree. But I think his next album is going to be the one to cement him as a legend

Did not expect to see Dave at the end being from the uk I knew that the top uk artists were talked about and the hits but to go deep in to Dave is good to see he is very similar with his tones but his storytelling is incredible in songs like Lesley or twenty to one or even my 17th birthday from his early ep

gunna over baby is crazy, even if baby last album was underwhelming he still has a better discography. gunna doesn't have a my turn, harder than ever, street gossip, or voice of the heroes. plus baby has always been a better rapper and lyricist. gunna is maybe better melodically that's about it.

Yal need to realize yb doesn’t own any master of his early albums so I believe he’s dropping to build that catalog that he owns so he builds a future for himself and his family now i will say his quality has dropped but id say because hes be on house arrest for two years hard to be creative wen your now out Experiencing new things

@@sergio_7459 that's true, but even just as a rapper I think there's a conversation to be had. Obviously I'm biased, but looking objectively at both of their catalogs there's good music to find on both ends, yachty is just way more skilled and versatile as a rapper alone when it comes to flow, delivery, and bars imo.

Lil Yachty sweeps Gunna. Gunna hits one note for an entire song and relies his creativity on the production. Meanwhile, Yachty has ALWAYS been interesting, even when his music is bad. Also Lil Boat Trilogy is one of best trilogies in trap, let alone rap, Let's Start Here is easily the best rock album made by a rapper, his character is enjoyable. Yachty is WAY better than Gunna.

@@owengibby I feel it. When I listen to albums, I look at it as an overall experience. Sure both albums have some great tracks that I like but overall it gets repetitive/boring which brings down these projects a lot lower for me then their previous efforts.

And the latest snippet was quite boring imo, and should def not be the leading single for his last allty album no matter how you look at it. But I rly hope he doesn't mess this up tho.

Call me crazy but I listened to three albums straight of playboi Carti and I thought melodic blue was better than all of them.. maybe I'm just more into words than beats I guess but people be swearing by Carti and I don't get why. He's not terrible but he's not on my playlist like at all
