Back in the 20-30 years ago , Throwing something at a musician was a good way to get your ass jumped by the crowd , it would literally take security to save them, that’s how much the crowd respected the artist…You jeopardize the show…you throw shit and see what happens, you better hope the lead singer/artist didn’t point you out…. I didn’t go to many hip-hop concerts when I was younger because I was such a metalhead but that’s the way it was in the metal community I’m assuming it happened at hip-hop shows also

I can’t stand this generation. Being 26 and growing up knowing what life was like before internet it just blows my mind seeing how little I have in common with the newer gen. My age group used to play outside and have actual friends, cellphones weren’t that big a thing like they are today. Music is also taken a huge nosedive. Shit sucks.

The sound cloud era rappers really fucked up the perception of hip hop. The kids who grew up on the rappers speaking in tongues had no exposure to good hip hop. They don't know its roots, its purpose. To them hip hop is a feeling and that feeling is chaos.

Scott Mescudi is a sweet person. He struggles with depression and overcame his cocaine addiction to be a good dad for his daughter. People throwing things at him is beyond messed up and could be really triggering for his depression. He's going through a lot especially since Kanye harrassed him online publicly. I consider it harrassment because Kanye's legions of fans are harrassing Scott as we speak right now. He's a human being and he deserves respect not just as an artist but as a fellow human being on this Earth. Anyone reading this should take time out of their day to send Scott a positive message and let him know he is loved and appreciated in this world. Having things thrown at you on stage no matter who you are, is going to hurt your feelings, and if you have depression it makes it even worse. We should all reach out to him and let him know we care about him.

I just didn't think demanding that nothing being thrown on the stage - over 5 times in a row - was the right idea. All because 1 guy did it. All you're doing at that point is egging some fool on, and making them believe they have the power to literally end your show. It's akin to a female constantly yelling, slapping a man, saying "I DARE you to touch me, I DARE you". Or telling a child not to push the big red button over and over. Cudi should have brushed off the first one and continued on with the show. The crowd was aware of the first item being thrown and whoever dared to follow it up would have been on notice themselves, and probably wouldn't have followed it up at all. Just didn't read the room, too soft of a skin. Cudi is the embodiment of what our society has become - too damn sensitive to what others do and reacting to the extreme as a response.

i like smaller edm festivals over the big famous ones.. crowd is much much nicer, people are more spaced out giving you space, no moshing or jumping or pushing people like crazy.

The problem with these large concert crowds is the lack of security. They don’t have the manpower or mechanisms for crowd control. In a controlled environment those people throwing things would have been immediately removed from the venue.
