Will Ramos (Lorna Shore singer) has said if you put a sleep token as it's made on the album into a visualizer of the sound the volume progressively gets louder on every song they do.
I feel like a proud parent seeing them blow up rn. Couldn't be happier. Think they're finally hitting their full stride with these new releases. I'm jonesin for more
Being 66 I've heard a lot of great rock, and just a few days ago Pink Floyd released the 50th Anniversary edition of Dark Side of the Moon, which let to quite a few of us Boomers commenting that we wish we could go back in time and hear it again for the first time. That groundbreaking experience we had with Dark Side is what's happening with Sleep Token. In 50 years people will still be remembering this album.
I saw them live in London on the 22nd, it was a huge ride. Hearing all the 4 new singles they released live was an absolute blast. The entire show left me filled with so many emotions, Atlantic live hits so hard. I could go on and on and on about how amazing the show was, the vocals in person are stupidly good (and also the fills from the drummer (II)). I'm glad to see you enjoying Sleep Token so much, I cannot get enough of them
The drummer and Vessel are both credited with songwriting, I've always appreciated how the synergy and time signatures in the music are smooth like butter with the lyrical content of their songs, S+ Tier writing, just like Vessel having a one of a kind voice, that drummer boy fucking slaps in a one of a kind way aswell and it shows through their entire discography because of how it's written
if you pay attention, you can hear the final beefy bass line throughout the ENTIRE song. it's the exact same bass line as at the end, which is why it feels like it works so well. we've been conditioned to it for the entire song
The producer change is really showing through these singles 1. The Summoning 2. Granite 3. Aqua Regia 4. Chokehold And like Chokehold is the base line. Chokehold is a 10 but the other singles are like 11s & 12s lol Worship.
Yeah it's something that on paper shouldn't work but it does, in perfect harmony. That's when you just throw away the rules and go big or go home. And they go big.
They always leave you wanting more, like an intoxicating woman (or man if that's what folks gravitate toward in their life), someone who brings out certain emotions in you that you only feel when you're with them, leaves you yearning and waiting to see them again. Like a primal hunger. At least that's what their music does to me, and I mean that as the highest compliment possible.
I really enjoy your reaction videos. Your facial expressions are very genuine and it's cool to see your emotions as you listen. Thank you! This song is amazing like most ST songs in my opinion.
I love that it's obvious you are really listening to songs because of how you discuss them - whether you like them or not - you listen. I really like the new songs. Can't wait for TMBTE to drop! Can't wait for them to come back to the states. Worship!
Great video and enough thanks can’t ever be said to you for pushin these guys on your channel so hard right before this new stuff! Idk if you realized it but they went up from like 300k on their monthly listeners to OVER A MILLION in less than a month! I believe channels like yours played a huge part in that aside from the strength of these new songs themselves! It’s amazing to see them finally getting much deserved recognition! Also I think you’ll really love Aqua Regia! It’s definitely one of their most straightforward tracks but it’s A WHOLE VIBE! All four tracks have been phenomenal yet sooo different from one another! What a special band man
The cool creature in this video looks like a cross between Prince Robot IV from Saga and Pyramid Head from Silent Hill. Granite was my first repeat song from this. I will just repeat it over and over.
Great analysis. One funny anecdote about the ending when the entire band kicks in, This song is in the lowest tuning they've used so far. They're at Drop B - 0, Or what some call double Drop B. The bass gtr is one full octave below a 5 string bass, Guitar is down to B-1 where a 5 string bass sits. I'm usually not much into hella low tunings, But they yse them in a great melodic context. And this song is stellar throughout. Cheers Man!
Since your probability gonna do aqua regia next I’ll recommend you check out the band sabaton. They make songs about historical conflicts, wars, heroic deeds, etc. their song Bismarck is a good place to start at. Also their drummer is married to floor jansen the lead singer of nightwish.
When I first listened to it I knew right away you would just love it hahaaaa it's my favourite too so far. Let's see what you'll think of Aqua Regia. I love it as well !
