In this video, I react for the first time to the British band Sleep Token performing “Granite”. I analyze their amazing performance, explain and demonstrate Vessel's vocal techniques and I'll tell you what I think made it so great. This is an amazing tune and I am so glad I finally reacted to it!

Hello, gorgeous! I'm Lolli, your Fairy Voice Mother. I am a voice teacher & vocal anatomy nerd specialising in contemporary techniques. Missing Limbs is one of there most underrated songs. It's a short, simple song but man I love how it's straight acoustic and vessels voice. It's in my top 10 Sleep Token songs for sure.

I've been following you from your first Dimash reaction, so two years now, and as soon as I realized you were into prog rock/metal when you did a Tool video I figured you'd love Sleep Token. They're just so fresh and original at what they're doing. It's helluva gateway drug to metal too, which gets me excited.

I think you'd love to see their live performances where the backing singers "the Vesselettes" really get to shine. Sorry I'm unable to direct you to any specific videos but if some pop up your recommendations give them a go! We saw them live last month and I was so impressed by the performance of all involved. Other than that, Aqua Regia, and Take Me Back to Eden. If you haven't checked those out then do. And from their back catalogue, The Night Does Not Belong To God, the first track from their first album, which I recommend checking out *before* the final track from their latest album, Euclid.

I have a few tips for you, if you want to avoid using your mouse to pause/play/skip: space to pause and play, left and right arrows to skip. @@MoreFairyVoiceMother The title track, "Take Me Back to Eden" is easily, and by far, my song of the year, and this record is my album of the year as well. That song does things that just stops the heart in one moment and then restarts it with the next phrase. And the lyrics cut to the core.

Loved this reaction. That "snap" he does in the breakdown is brilliantly placed. In the concerts, the lights come up for that split second and Vessel strikes a snapping pose before it drops again. So sick.

I will say this because most of the reactors don't catch it and I think it's a fun fact If you pay attention the guitar in 7:50 is doing the same notes and pattern of the bass in the start of the song and 4:38. Is so effective

It’s so interesting to listen to the way you break parts of the song into bite sizes that make me understand why they’ve done it. Love how you compared the difference in vocals between this and chokehold. I’ve never noticed that but I’ve listened to them both so many times! I’ve subscribed:) Hoping you do some more of their songs! Take he back to Eden, ascension and apparition are awesome. Thinking about it now.. an apparition is a ghost, and he sounds like of ghost like in the song 😆

Like this look at lyricism and composition rather than just vocal technique on this channel, may need to go back and apply this to a few listens of other music you have already reacted to or look at something compositionally challenging like: Sokoninaru, Midori, Ligeti or 88kasyo Junrei?
