The bald dude rapping was Scott Ian, one of the Anthrax guitarists and a rap fan. The guy with the ball cap playing with the turntable was Joey belladonna, their singer, and he borrowed that hat from Flava Flav. This was the first time a rock band had enough respect for a rap group to actually tour and perform together and both sets of fans got along great. Chuck D had a lot of respect for metal too, he was on the same label as Slayer back in the day and sampled a Slayer riff on "She Watch Channel Zero".

Guitarist Scott Ian is a huge fan of Public Enemy and did the rap while lead Vocalist Joey Belladonna was in the background for this song he was on the turntable at some points

I like Public Enemy but the best part was that Anthrax changed 'Farrakhan is a prophet' to 'Farrakhan is a racist' on the version on their album. He most certainly is. Not only a racist but a religious extremist who preaches hate. Oh yeah and he most probably had Malcolm X killed.

What I love about this collab is that it was so genuine. The members of Anthrax were genuine fans of hip-hop and were psyched to do a song with Public Enemy.

The 5th band would have to be Overkill. Scott Ian is the rhythm guitar he was from NY and enjoyed hip-hop. Linkin Park,evanesece, Otep, Korn, Deftones, Staind,Flyleaf, Kid Rock all were Nu-metal and other genres. Check out some Tallah " overconfidence" band is awesome.

Scott Ian was only lip syncing Chuck’s part. The lyrics and vocals are exactly from the original version of Bring the Noise off the album It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. Whole Judgment Night soundtrack was pretty awesome. Each song was one rap group and one metal or rock band. Pearl Jam and Cypress Hill "Real Thing". Another song is Ice T with Slayer Hill does another song this time with Sonic Youth "I Love You Mary Jane" also has several other cool songs.

What made Anthrax stand out is they never took themselves too seriously. It was and still is refreshing for the genre of Thrash Metal. Also, they are the only of the “Big 4” from the East Coast, so I love them for that too

Metal and rap go together so well. There was a movie called Judgment Night. The soundtrack is all metal/rap collaborations. House of Pain with Helmut, Ice-T with Slayer, Cypress Hill with Sonic Youth. So many good songs

Well now you have to do “I’m The Man.” As for other Anthrax tunes, “Indians” “Anti-Social” (technically an English version of the original song by French band Trust), “Caught In A Mosh,” or “The Devil You Know” for something more recent. “Got The Time” is another fun cover. There’s also their John Bush era stuff, but I always preferred Joey Belladonna fronting the band.

As a full blown white kid from the great white north I was opposed to rap music until Scot Ian and Anthrax introduced me to Public Enemy. Now I listen to just as much hip hop as I do metal and Chuck D is one of my favorite artists of all-time. Thanks Scottie!!!

Anthrax has a rap song of their own, called 'I'm The Man', and also they sing a song about injustice to North American Indians which is singer Joey Belladonna's heritage. It's called 'Indians', and their heaviest metal 🤘 song, in my opinion, is 'Keep It In The Family'... Thank you guys your awesome 👍.

The song is a P.E. song, Scott Ian likes PE wore a PE shirt in the Im The Man video Flav thought it was cool added the line “wax is for Anthrax” was paying back homage, Flav and Scott talked at some point to collaborate and out came a metal version of Bring The Noise

Anthrax was the funner of the top 4. They came out of New York and they introduced rap into their repertoire. They are fun to see Anthrax!

I remember the tour Anthrax and Public Enemy did together back in the early 90's. It was insane! So damn good. Nearly 30 years ago. I was in my late teens back then. Damn I'm getting old! Also if you like the vibe of this early 90's rap rock collaboration then check out the likes of House Of Pain and Helmet doing "Just Another Victim" or Faith No More with Boo-Yaa Tribe doing "Another Body Murdered" both from the "Judgement Night" soundtrack. That stuff was excellent. If you want a track by just Anthrax alone then check out either "Among The Living" or "In My World" for starters.

Attack of the killer B's is one of my favorite albums by Anthrax. Check out the band S.O.D. ( stormtroopers of death ) that was a Scott Ian band either before Anthrax or was a side project of Scott. I love when you bring my childhood music back! Listen to Indians or Time by these guys!

As you know, Anthrax is part of the "Big 4", who were the four biggest thrash metal bands (Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer), all of whom which had arguably their biggest albums released in 1986. Anthrax came from New York (mainly Brooklyn and Queens), who were also into the huge rap scene at the time. Also keep in mind, that same year - 1986/1987, were the same years that the Beastie Boys hit big with License to Ill, Public Enemy first came out (before Fight The Power and the movie "Do The Right Thing"), Run DMC hit big with My Adidas/You Be Illin', etc. So it was hard for them to *NOT* like rap, as it was just as prolific as they were. anthrax were speed/thrash metal, but they were urban/more streetwise than the rest of the metal bands at that time. This was the second ong to do the rap/rock/metal collab, as Run DMC covered Aerosmith's Walk This Way, along with Aerosmith. As others mentioned, Biohazard and Onyx collaborated on Onyx's "Slam", which is another one to check out. If it weren't for this song, Walk This Way, and Slam, you basically wouldn't have rap metal, or the collabs you have today.

Bring The Noise is an old-school Public Enemy track with a couple new versus from Scott Ian and some heavy groove. This has always been a great crossover. This proceeded the nu metal shit by a long time.

I saw them perform when they were on tour together. It was in 1991 at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre. Primus opened up for them. That was an awesome show.

Anthrax and Slayer always had some links with hip-hop and rap. Slayer's Kerry King played in Beastie Boys records and his bandmate Tom Araya was friends with some of the guys from Cypress Hill from way back in high school. And yeah, the bald guy rapping is Scott Ian, one of the guitar players from Anthrax. Last time I saw them live they actually performed another of their rap songs, "I'm the Man," which is a more comedic song but I never expected to ever hear it live.

This song was the exact opposite of the Aerosmith and run DMC song. which took a pre-existing rock song and turned it into a rap song. This one was originally a public enemy song that they metalized. The part that Scott Ian rapped was originally Chuck D's verse. I highly suggest you react to the public enemy song she watch channel zero which uses a Slayer sample. It's an excellent song.

Anthrax is the NYC contingent of the Big 4. That lineup was Joey Belladonna- vocals, Frank Bello Bass, Charlie Benante drums Scott Ian Rhythm guitat and Dan Spitz lead guitar

The 'bald dude' that was rapping is Scott Ian, guitarist and occasional background vocals for Anthrax. The long-haired dude at the turntable is also a member of Anthrax, I believe that's Joey Belladonna (who was the vocalist for Anthrax at that time). Also this collaboration was the idea of both Anthrax and Public Enemy, since they've all been friends for years. The collaboration was suggested not only out of friendship and mutual respect for each other, and also because of their shared love of music and performing for their fans. And even though I'm not a fan of Rap, I still love this collaboration because of the shared love of music all these dudes have. Plus I like how they're following the footsteps layed down by the collaboration between Aerosmith and Run DMC with the Aerosmith song 'Walk This Way', which was done in the early 90's if I recall correctly (and which I first saw the video for on MTV Headbangers Ball when I was in High School), which was also awesome in my opinion.

My uncle loved trains and raised me , when I was 8 yrs old a train had graffiti on it that was anthrax logo , I asked what's that so he bought us the cassette tape if anthrax and my metal days began

I like that this collab came about because Anthrax was wanting to do a cover of BtN, but insisted that PE do it with them. Chuck said at first “it’s ok, you guys can do it and make it your own” but Scott insisted.

ANTHRAX and PUBLIC ENEMY Toured Together 90-91 for this Song Collaboration! I Saw This LIVE in Oakland Hills with PRIMUS Opening the Show. When ANTHRAX/PUBLIC ENEMY Performed the Song- Les Claypool Joined them On Stage!! It was AMAZING to See. Also Look Up ANTHRAX "I'm The Man 91" it's A "B" Side Song or On the "Attack Of The Killer B's" Album.

This song is right up there with Walk This Way (Aerosmith & Run DMC), I'm The Man (Anthrax) and Epic (Faith No More) as one of the first rap/rock; rap/metal songs of all time. Some would say that Exodus is the 5th of the Big 5. I do put Linkin Park in the nu metal category, but not Evanescence. More Anthrax reacts please!!! Anthrax is a new york-based thrash metal band where as the other three came from San Francisco and LA! This song came out in 1990 I watched it the day it dropped on MTV it was in the summertime I was taking breaks in between swimming I was eating and I saw this it really did change the way people thought about thrash metal and stuff like that because it kind of crossed over generations and people kind of dug it I mean the Beastie Boys made a living off of combining punk rock and rap together! It was great for skateboarding I know that!

For a 5th thrash band, I'd say either later DRI or Suicidal Tendencies. "He can rap?" Scott Ian can do whatever the fuck he wants to do. Their usual singer was manning the turntable.

Scott Ian is the guitarist for Anthrax. He is the bald guy rapping. Rick Rubin is a record producer that at the time was producing Both Public Enemy & Anthrax. Being a fan of Public Enemy, Scott asked Chuck D if he wanted to do a song together. Scott was apparently expecting to get shut down but, as you can see, that didn't happen.

Got to see the tour with primus, Public enemy and Anthrax, in Oakland, in early 91, I think this came out in 91 early 92? This was before Flavor of Love came out, During the show I saw, public enemy left the stage, Primus was next, as different fans began switching from the floor to the seats, two tall as hell dark guys, watching the Primus roadies set up, the crowd started chanting "Primus Sucks" and "Tom!!! Your an asshole!!!" These two guys looked at eachother one guy says, "Damn, that's fucked up!" My friend and I were dying 🤣🤣🤣😎😁💜 Great show, I got a pick from Scott Ian 😁💜😎🦄

Way back in the 80's there was a club in Atlanta called "The Metroplex" (parts of Centennial park now sits where it was...down from the Tabernacle to give you a reference of its location) and there was a balcony surrounding the stage...and people would jump from the balcony into the pit😁

I am sure it has been suggested, but the tour video is insane. This is no one off. Scott and Chuck are very close. Chuck credits Anthrax at the start of that tour (especially Anthrax’s lighting director) with teaching them how to be live gods even the big 4 would see as equal on lights, pyrotechnics, stage presence…. The documentary shorts are gold!

I had a really strange concert experience in the 90's! I went to a U2 concert at the Oakland Colosseum! They had 2 openers! Public Enemy and the Sugarcubes! (Bjorks old band). Spent the ride home on the train talking to 2 guys who went for the Public Enemy show only buy stayed for the whole thing! We talked about the acts and how cool they were! It was surreal and awesome!

Anthrax rules!!.... they never take that metal stuff too serious! (First metal frontman in Bermuda shorts!).... they are absolutely open minded and that's what I love about them! Today you would say that they are first class influencer.. because that's what they where back in the days..... definitely one of the biggest bands in metal... exactly said.... Speed metal as its best! And you guys are absolutely amazing and I love your show a lot! It's always a pleasure to watch the show! Thanks for being such enthusiastic music lover!!

There was a rap/rock sampler back in 1993 called judgement night with some interesting songs on it. I like the song another body murdered from boo yaa tribe together with faith no more because it has a dark feeling for a rap/rock song. Besides for me as a rock fan i must say boo yaa tribe is my favorite rap band the albums of them especially the first two are so godamn funky and i love the raps of gangsta rid, sad that he passed away. Boo yaa tribe made also a rap/rock album on their own. I saw them two times live in germany with their rap songs and with their rap/rock songs and everytime they played their shows with real instruments. These big huge samoans are the real deal.
