JMO. Jimi is better than Jimmy, Moon is better the Bonham, Butler better than Jones. Plant is the best front man though, I'll agree with that. As I stated just my opinion. For the record, Led Zep is my favorite rock band.

@@susancurtis8388 this generation has little to offer and once the education system indoctrinates the majority of them, I only see a very contentious, bitter society emerging, as much as I hate to say it. Oh, sorry I got off topic there. Absolutely, "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd was a Masterpiece and still is no doubt. All of Led Zeppelin's albums ("Coda" doesn't really qualify) were phenomenal, so many great songs on each and every album, and I'd be hard pressed to pick which was Zeppelin's best work, Led Zeppelin 4 would be a contender right to the end of any debate (their best album), and although they got a lot of flack for "In Through the Out Door"; it was great, as for as I'm concerned. They'll always remain unmatched. You know lately I was randomly checking out some of these "reaction" videos, where, usually the younger age group, have a RU-vid channel with the format of listening (audio only) or watching a music video, with them "reacting to the music", giving a review or commenting on what they've listened to or viewed. Going through (srowling) these youtuber channels, I find it very interesting at how many are reacting to a lot of the older rock bands that you and I grew up listening to. As far as their "reactions", some seem to be more sincere than others, giving honest opinions, or replies, and sometimes seem a little caught off guard or even surprised at what they've just listened to. I see many of them enjoying much of the older classical rock, even a lot of the hard rock groups or metal band even. In a way, it proves that compared to what's being produced and listened to today, what we were lucky enough to have, so much great great music always in the air, sound track of our lives, for me, '70s to around the latter 90s, maybe early 2000s, then it all (music) started to change, tapering off, as far as how it use to be, the quality and quantity will never return or be replaced, sad to say, so many of these youtuber's 'reaction videos" confirm what has happened in a lot of ways, by the reaction and what they have to say, more often than not, seems positive. If you get the chance, and haven't, take a look at some of these RU-vidr's "reaction videos". If anything it's entertaining and it's a different take on how music can have different affects on people, no matter where they came from, their race, young (mostly) or older, none of that really matters, when it comes to music; how it moves people, while much of the time opening them up to a new experience, Check out Jamal aka Jemel or Trash Talkers, or Jay Rah Visions of Lost in Las Vegas or FatherandSon, just to name a few, if you get a chance, up to you Susan. It's ironic too because he's by far the most talented and skilled musician out of the whole group. He played the most cleanly, had the most knowledge of music theory, and was a multi-instrumentalist. He was their secret weapon.

@@isopropyltoxicity I understand that. That’s why I said “even guys that already technically were known players.” Even the leading guitarists of the time were amazed by Hendrix. Gilmour wore his guitar strap for many years. They all were inspired by him.

You are spot on. if each member of Led Zep were in different bands that band would be decent but put them together and they rule the world it's 4 virtuosos on the same musical wavelength and in synch with each other. it's almost telepathy

Led is 10 times better than pink Floyd. Tired of hearing Floyd heads saying that. Not even close. Love Zeppelin but pink Floyd does not do that much for me.

Page beats Hendrix any day of the week. Better creative player better live player better producer better library of music, less bullshit and more unique and diverse playing. Hendrix ain’t close to Page.

Clapton predates both Hendrix and Page. Page was Clapton's replacement in The Yardbirds. And Hendrix came to London at the start of his career mainly on the hopes he could meet Clapton cuz he was his hero.

@@jbojoify May be you are right. When Page himself said Hendrix is the best, who am I to argue. Specially when i am not a guitar player. What I CAN say is who is my personal fav and why. As I mentioned my fav is Page. But from Rolling Stones to Loudwire will put Hendrix, and its most people's preferred choice. May be the untimely deaths of Hendrix something to do with it. I am not saying it is. But it happens alot. for example, I will get Sh*t for saying this but when Chester Bennington from Linkin Park passed away, so many people said and still saying he is a legend. I dont see how he is a legend. It really bugged me that just because he died, all the sudden people are claiming he is. I am NOT saying samething happen with Hendrix, He is/was an amazing guitarist. but like i said in my post above, i am more moved by Page.

Bonzo had a really distinctive sound that you could instantly recognize and JPJ was and still is considered one of the greatest all around studio musicians of all time.

That's a good theory. I would also add that as young men they were looking for a musical genre to emulate other than trad or pop music. America because of their racism could not give a damn about blues music. The blues was attitude and bad ass. The young Brits could use it as a vehicle to create something new. Add amplification and other advancing technology and there you go.

PB movement begin with Cream & The Yardbirds, and who was a member of the Yardbirds & then formed Led Zep when Yardbirds folded ? Yep a certain Mr Jimmy Page. Trash Talkers mentioning other rock bands don't realise they came after LZ who were 1967 or 8 thru to 1980. When drummer Bonzo died that was LZ finished. Was it 3 reunions since ? Inc Live Aid which was dire. They made up for it with the Celebration Day concert in 2007 as tribute to the founder of Atlantic records. They had one concert at the O2 in London which seats 22,000 capacity, the ticket applications were over 20 million, I was one of those who didnt make it. 😢 This coming out after it ended, all said it was the best concert of their lives. You can see on the DVD how feckin brilliant it was. I felt sorry for Jimmy who obviously loved every second of it and must have harboured thoughts of more, but Robert was never going to do more. Shame he looked like he enjoyed it and he was on top form but no. Best Rock Band EVER no question. !❤

Yes!… that solo is other worldly. I was a Pink Floyd fanatic before I got heavily into Led Zeppelin… I thought that Gilmour’s solo on “comfortably numb”, from the PULSE live album, was the best live guitar solo ever… but the Stairway solo from this concert has taken that title away from Gilmour, in my opinion anyway.

They should listen to “She Just Satisfies” if they’re curious what Jim’s singing voice sounds like.

Robert played guitar on Boogie with Stu, so he can play, but obviously not to Jimmy's standards. Who can, right. Just thought I'd chip in with that as I see you on every Led Zeppelin reaction. I'm there as well, just don't comment as much.

Jimmy plays mandolin as well. JP Jones plans mandolin as well also. Battle of Evermore was Page when done live.

Personally, I'm not interested in perfection. Ultimately that path is usually boring and lacking in soul. It's all about passion, emotion and phrasing, in which Jimmy is unmatched IMO.

Maybe sloppy, but have you noticed he typically plays his sloppiness twice to show that's what he meant to do 😀 I've heard from different guitarists that JP's riffs are extremely difficult to play, yet he seemed to do it with ease. He may not be the fastest are the best player, but his style is unique and he created some of the best riffs ever, plus make the guitar sound so beautiful as well, "Tea for One", just one example of his greatness

Not exactly the entirety, just most of it. You'd be hard pressed to call Good Times Bad Times or Communication Breakdown 'blues'. But otherwise you're not wrong, most of their early albums were quite steeped in blues. They did expand their sound quite a bit over the years, but it seems like there's at least one song on the later albums that was straight up blues.

@@TheLanceUppercut the first album included cover songs by old blues guys like Willie Dixon (they played a lot of Dixon covers on their albums) and J. B. Lenoir which was where their blues background was rooted. I think Dixon later sued Zepplin for plagiarizing one of his songs and not giving him credit. But Page was heavily rooted in Dixon and that's where Zepplin's blues influence comes from. They played a lot of covers. A lot of people don't know that.

@Crooked Chi it's one of the most iconic riffs in history. Guitarist competitions doesn't have to be just solos. Creating riffs like that gets you props.

I definitely think Eddie Van Halen was influenced by Jimmy page. Jimmy Page is the GOAT
