The new songs, this one and Lux Aeterna were the first new songs for Metallica in about 6-7 years. I feel both were worth the wait. They may not release albums as often as they once did because all four members have families and other interests away from the band. Some of the sounds from the first two new singles seem inspired by some of their older songs but updated along with their trademark sound. Yes new album 72 seasons comes in April. For being in the music business for 40+ years and entering their 60’s they seem pretty solid. I know fans want a return to master of puppets, black album or even load and reload. But Metallica is always evolving and staying true to themselves.

It's really cool to see how James's voice has evolved over the years: his vocals on the first 2 albums were kinda rough, Master Of Puppets/And Justice For All era were a big improvement, he must've started taking vocal lessons around the Black Album era because his vocals peaked in that era imo.... ....Load/Reload era vocals mixed in a little bit of Country, St. Anger era was James just raging out, Death Magnetic/Hardwired era are James most mature sounding vocals and he's much cleaner sounding imo, and now he's kinda changing it up again by introducing some higher vocals kinda like he used to have. James always gets recognition for his guitar playing skills, but he doesn't get the recognition he deserves when it comes to how great his vocals sound. Much love Papa Het 🤘🤘🤘🤘

I believe he blew his voice out during the Black album recording and had to go to a vocal coach to get it back. I don't think his voice was quite the same after that and I don't mean that in a bad way whatsoever. Personally, the Garage Inc/S&M era is my favorite in terms of his vocal performance. It's crazy to hear how good he sounds all these years later.

Just got a notice today. On April 13th, a day before the album comes out, we can go to a movie theater near you to hear the whole album. It's a listening party for all fans. They said they will talk about each song and there will be surprises. Tickets go on sale March 2nd. I went to the drive-in theater concert a few years ago and that was very cool. I'll be at one more how far I have to drive, if it's not near me.

One thing people that are young seem to not realize is that the creative fire never burns out as you age. I'm not speaking of you and Smoke, but as an example, you two are fantastic artists. At what age are you two going to say well, I'm old I can no longer create anything? Your inner spirit will always be young, but unfortunately people will only see the old man that's on the outside.

Glad to see New Metallica here, I already suggested their very first single "Lux Aeterna" for their upcoming album "72 Seasons" If you see the description on the "Screaming suicide" video, you'll see what James is singing about. Is that fear, that voice we've all had inside, to face it, to speak the unspoken, to let anyone who's have these thoughts (I'm one of them) that we are not alone, they're not alone. Suicide is not a taboo word, and it should be adressed with caution and awereness. Keep up the good work guys!!!

In my personal experience any failed attempt is concerned a cry for help. When I was 11 to 13 I suffered from debilitating depression and was institutionalized, medicated and ignored by doctors. It wasn't until I went to my first concert (green jello duh tour 93) when I broke free of the funk. Weed keeps the depression away and music/concerts are my drug. You can say music saved my life. I've been to around 100 concerts since 93 and probably over 400 bands. During the whole covid crap I only saw obituary, life of agony, and cannibal corpse/whitechapel. I know for a fact Hollywood would love life of agony, his first song should be through and through. I also believe the lead singer (can't remember name due to coffee not working yet) was the first openly transgender member in metal. The show only had about 50 people and was the first show of the tour. She loved doing small venues before a big tour. She was able to meet her true fans. Sad part was no younger generations in the crowd.

Hey ! This may be a first . This is my first listen ever to this song too ! And ive been a Metallica fan since the mid 80s but I lost faith in them With the Album Load . Gained some faith back with Death Magnetic but still nothing grabbed me like the old stuff . So im excited too ! Lets do it ! Ill finish this comment after the vid ! lol ! OK ! OK ! I fn dig it ! It has a great feel and rawness to it . The lyrics smacked me upside the dome too . I deal with depression a lot and thoughts like that come in my head all the time . Even when things are good sometimes . But hell yeah ! I wanna check out this album when it drops . They got another song out called Lux Aterna ive not bothered to listen to . But i will now ! I heard my first Metallica song at the age of 13, so around 1986, at a party. I was drunk and they were playing "Master of Puppets". At first I didn't like it, but that changed quickly! The last time I saw them in concert was 1993 in Montreal at that infamous disaster of a concert! It was so surreal!!! And it was a last minute idea to see them....I really dislike GNR because of that concert....lol...

You could also figure the "let me out" thing as the person actually telling someone that they are feeling like that and need help since they also said you're battling with your mind, and feeling left behind. Depression can feel like you are falling behind while you see folks being happy and succeeding, you feel trapped in tar or quicksand almost. The more you struggle, the faster you sink. You need people to extend that rescuing hand/rope/branch figuratively speaking to get out of the worst of it. Also it's only been in the last couple of decades that it's been ok to openly speak about such ideations without being stigmatized as "crazy" or "messed up".

In this song, Papa Het gives a voice to suicide personified, much like creeping death… my name is suicide, talking about the deep, dark gray fog that happens to the suicidal mind, “don’t say my name keep me inside it’s all your fault you were never good enough anyway” Of course, the antidote to that is just screaming it as loud as you possibly can…please A whisper can be just as powerful, if not more than a scream…get it out of your body…especially you men✨💚 men are 3.5 times more likely to die of suicide than women… not only are they less likely to reach out for help, they are more likely to choose lethal methods that work the first time. I personally have known five men to die this way, and one woman. RIP to all of them, I miss you terribly. In 2020, 988 was established as our new suicide help hotline… if you’re in the gray, and the screams won’t come out, and you don’t trust anyone you know with your secret, call this number, and just see how it feels to whisper your fears to a stranger, if it keeps you here your loved ones will be grateful I promise you.

Hi guys, as others have confirmed, yes, a new album is coming out in the spring. It will supported by a tour. I'm guessing they will have a date in Atlanta. If so, please find a way to attend. Metallica is GREAT live! You always get your money's worth at their shows. This is the 2nd release from the new album. Lux AEterna is the first. Please react to that one as well. Go see the boys! Nice, I'm glad you guys were able to check this one out. This song is a grower, it took 2 or 3 listens for me to enjoy it. This is reminiscent of Load/Reload era Metallica, it would fit perfectly on those albums imo. Great reaction as usual guys, can't wait for the new album!! 🤘🤘🤙🤙

New Album 72 Seasons April 14, 2023!! Extremely excited for that 😁 The song is about how suicide is a taboo word. We are told not to talk about it, we keep it inside. People think about suicide and have those thoughts, we need to be open and talk about it and not listen to the voices in our heads that we are not enough. James has come out and said he struggles with this, so basically it’s a song to say YOU ARE NOT ALONE and you can talk about it, ITS BEAUTIFUL 🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥

Fuel is literally MetallicA's 2nd worst song. This is one of their best songs since...And Justice For All. Fuel #114 Screaming Suicide is more like approximately top 50 best. Those songs are absolutely nothing alike.

To me it was not as good as Lux Aeterna it sounds okay not good not bad per se ... Lux gave me hope but this was meh. But I sure am glad that they're still making music... Fade to black still gives me shivers when I hear it from time to time.. Became a fan at 16 now I'm 28..
