@@yasha.hartberg Yep & in the third verse, Ren blended in elements of 74 with the background singers calling back "Let it Go" like he was singing in the 1st song. Ren has a wonderful artistic mind & so musically gifted. 🤯.

The connection between those 2 songs was the "Message in a Bottle guitar riff" which Ren already implemented into "Back on 74" during his performance By the way "Back on 74" is from a British Dance Music Project group named "Jungle" and was released in 2023 "Message in a bottle" was relaesed 1979

Yep, it leans heavily into 9ths/2nds which aren't intervals that are often grouped together in modern/western music, Ren "heard" it in 74, recognized it being the "thing" in the Police riff (probably wouldn't know the theory behind it), and knew they could be fused together. 👍

Back on 74 isn’t even about 1974. 74 is referring to a street name, and it’s a modern artist with a very 70’s vibe. Ren just ties it into 1974 with his whole aesthetic and so it vibes with with the 1979 song message in a bottle.

If you really listen you can hear the Message in the bottle riff playing under the Back on 74 verse with a little Ren in the middle, it's one of my favourites.
