Corey said he wrote the lyrics to the song on the dashboard of his car while driving from Denver to Iowa in 1996. He had moved to Denver to check out the music scene, but after determining that it wasn’t working in Colorado he decided to move home. He wrote this during the car ride.
if you like corey taylor's voice check out the "Super group" The Sound City Players song is "From Can to Can't" features corey on vocals, Dave Grohl on drums, and Rick Nielson from Cheap Trick on guitar!!!!!
Man, I wish I could go back to when this came out. Brings back so many chill memories with friends, I was 18 years old when this came out and everything seemed so alive then. I relate more to this song now then I did then, back then I was just a young kid, just finishing high school and thought I related to this song. Now I know what it's really like to relate to this song as I have gotten older.
This song still makes me cry. I used to listen to this song when i was deeply depressed and felt so much sadness and emptiness. This song spoke to me so much. I felt every word. Hearing it now reminds me of when my life was so dark and tired and it makes me sad but also glad i survived it.
Alright.....getting into some Stone Sour. I'm really excited. Corey Taylor is the man and so talented. He did write the lyrics to this song. Some songs to check out "Say You'll Haunt Me", they do an amazing cover of "Wicked Game" and "Song #3" which is the song my husband and I danced to at our wedding. 🤘❤
What I always get from this song is him talking about his depression and his self destructive habits that he battled for so long. It’s a song I really relate to
Corey went to a slipknot show and knew he had to sing for this band because he loved what they stood for and style. It was over after that. Zzyx Road - Stone Sour Good song similar to this one emotion wise and is a masterpiece. He loves boths bands as outlets its just not every lyric he writes fits slipknot and vice versa. As he gets older i know he loves slipknot but he is having more trouble making it through a slipknot set. He does well dont get it twisted but he isnt a kid anymore lol
*If you haven't, could you please react to Corey Taylor Snuff live?? Pick the one where he's wearing a white tshirt playing an acoustic guitar. You can feel the pain and rush of emotions coming from him*
The Third Song, unrequited love and going the distance, even if the other person doesn't or won't. Corey wrote it, there is an accoustic version that will melt you.
I know it probably doesn't relate but, I lost my wife last Wednesday to COVID and Stone Sour's "Imperfect" has really been talking to me. Aside from that, it's just a really good song from them. 💙🙏🏼💙
I’ve seen Stone Sour and Slipknot live, both amazing shows in different ways. Love to see more Stone Sour reactions . Would love to see more Falling in Reverse. Please react to The Drug in Me is You and Drug in Me is reimagined in one video so you can be blown away by the difference.
there's a bbc documentary on slipknot with live sessions from 2019, you guys might enjoy it. it turns out Corey saw slipknot in the mid 90's playing and loved the music, attitude and energy so much, he just told himself "I'm going to sing for these guys" and made it happen. oh...there's some dope accoustic stone sour pieces that are amazing...Song #3, Mercy, Red Rose Violent Blue (this song is dumb), Cardiff, Wicked Game, Through the glass....and a bunch more i can't quite remember XD oh and a Rage Against The Machine cover of Bombtrack...Corey's rapping comes through on that one
I was actually listening to this song when it first came out. As I was listening to it I got a phone call that a friend of mine died. This song really hits me.
Hey guys, you should check out Ice Nine Kills, they write most of their songs based on horror films or famous literature, I'd reccomend "Hell in the Hallways" about Carrie or "Your Numbers Up" about the scream movies, I think you'd love this metalcore band, cheers from Canada
Nice choice for today's reaction guys! This one is a melodic touching song. It really gets you in the feels.😥 Through the glass is also a favorite of mine. And very much a feeling since 2020 began. The video def brought me back. I remember hearing it for the first time in Cleveland Ohio. Summer of 09' 😌 When the music hits the soul.🎶💯🔥🎶
Stone Sour Get Inside & Monolith & Inhale. The 1st album was a great one and amazing songs that you just cant stop listening to, im just gonna say listen to the whole album at this point.
Great reaction! This song is so amazing... Corey Taylor has got to b one of the most talented musician in the game! He's just all over the place, his voice is incredible.. he can sing, he can rap, he's a screamo/metal .. I've only heard 2 Stone Sour songs 2, this one.. and -Through the Looking Glass-....both r great songs
Corey was actually front ant center at the first Slipknot concert and he said to himself that he is going to sing for this band and then they asked him while he was working in a pornshop! :D
Look up Vasche "Hang On, Megastar (Foreign Four)" - They've not been a band in like 11 or 12 years, they had no following, and they were just a few guys from our small town and did their stuff by themselves with no professional help. But it's a fun song. They have other ones too. But if you like SOAD, Stone Sour, Metallica, and Tool, then maybe you'll like them too.
As good as this one is, I would love to see you guys react to his live version of this from his London solo show. You get the full brunt of his emotions + the crowd joining in with him. Really elevates this song.
