Really appreciate it fellas. Your response was exactly what I was hoping for, Corey is out of this world talented. In regards to the rest of Stone Sour’s work, they’re generally pretty heavy and are really good, and I hope people start suggesting them more on here. But the softer stuff like this and some other songs that you’ve done really showcase Corey as a singer and let’s the casuals realize that he’s not some one-trick pony with no range. Much love, keep it rolling.

Stone Sour, just like Staind, generally gets categorized based on their radio hits and not the deep cuts. Those of us who’ve dug into the catalogs a little deeper know they’re much heavier than what gets presented on radio.

Some admittedly limited Stonesour history - Corey founded the group in the early 90s, Slipknot started up in the same period and the group were together for years with various Slipknot members joining. First Stonesour album came out early 2000s. I love that you have this view of Stonesour has lighter. They have some incredible metal tracks. I'd recommend anything off their first (self titled album) for a taste of where they started. And then i'd recommend you listen to Gone Sovereign/Absolute Zero to have your brains explode out of your ears!

House of Gold and Bones pt 1 and 2…tells a complete story. From the 1st song until the last. By the time you hear the very last song, you will realize it was a (his) story told in music

Stone Sour is actually a mosty heavy band. The softer stuff gets the airplay. Check out Gone Sovereign or Get Inside for some heavy stuff. Jim Root whom is in Slipknot Also came from Stone Sour. Much of Sipknots signature sound is Jims guitar work.

Y'all really need to do the extended video to From Can to Can't, also Apocalyptica ft Corey Taylor's I'm Not Jesus. Corey got up on stage at a Supernatural Convention - Las Vegas 2018 and sang a freakin' duet of Wanted Dead or Alive with Jensen Ackles (they are fans of each other, so 2 dreams 1 song). I don't think there is really much Corey *can't* do at this point.

Don’t forget Jim Root came from Stone Sour aswell Apparently Corey was working in a sex shop and Clown, Joey and Paul went in and wouldn’t leave until Corey said he would sing with them or something like that.

One could think that Jim Root (guitars Slipknot and (now ex-) Stone Sour) was the link that brought Corey Taylor into Slipknot, but it was actually the other way around - Root joined Slipknot some time into the recording of Slipknot's debut S/T album, replacing Josh Brainard. It was Clown, Joey Jordison, and Mick Thompson that approached Corey Taylor in '97, I believe, just after Mate Feed Kill Repeat was released. The music sceene in Des Moines wasn't the largest at the time (it isn't now either, to be fair), so everyone kind of knew everyone already. Stone Sour never released anything before Slioknot, they'd just recorded some demos. Taylor even quit Stone Sour, and didn't re-join the band until some time after Slipknot's S/T, before Stone Sour released their debut album some three years after Slipknot. This one is from their fourth studio album, House of Gold & Bones, pt 1, from 2012.

I love both Slipknot and Stone Sour, albums from 2006 to 2012 are ones of my favourite albums in general. You should react to "The Conflagration" or "Cardiff".

If you want listen to a harder track from Stone Sour, try Orchids from their 1st album. It's not a single, but that should answer your question about the comparison between Corey's two bands. For other harder songs from them, try Get Inside Monolith 30/30 150 Gone Sovereign/Absolute Zero Do Me a Favor Say You'll Haunt Me Corey's voice is amazing. I have a playlist on RU-vid I created of just all their albums (it's public, called Stone Sour Albums) and it has 129k views so far. They're one of my favorite bands ever. The deep tracks are my absolute favorites. They are very much worth a deep dive.

you guys might enjoy the acoustic version of Song 3 by stone sour...it is such a contrast to the officially released version, that's kinda more pop song, and as a result it loses a degree of the emotion and sentiment that just oozes out of the acoustic version. Another Corey track that is a blast is his collab with Dave Grohl on the soundcity project. The track is From Can To Can't, and it's incredible. I'd definitely be up for more stone sour reactions, Orchids is a favourite, but you can pretty much pick a track at random and have a banger ranging from borderline slipknot heavy, to just elegantly beautiful and understated. (lastly...Taciturn...the C is pronounced as an S, so Tassiturn, lol....there's way too many English words that just defy logic on how they're meant to be pronounced, and i've gone through a lot of my life having only seen words written and completely missed the pronunciation 😅😥)

Dude in the beginning… an amateur’s mistake. Get yo ass out of the car and scrape that shit off 😆😩 Don’t know a lot of Stone Sour songs but The Uncanny Valley is my favorite. I agree with Smokey at the end… some men don’t talk or tell you how they’re doing unless you *drag it out of them.* The problem is, it can make the other person feel that he’s being aloof or uninterested 😕 I *want* to know how your day is going or if something is bothering you. To me, communication with your partner is vital and shows that you value the relationship. Yeah y’all did have the pronunciation wrong the whole time. You live and learn 😆

Stone Sour's first album was their best. After this Slipknot and Stone Sour turned into SlipSour or StoneKnot. Just a Pop Heavy Band. Iowa was Slipknots last good album.
