I saw Waka Flocka live at a music festival some years back and he had Laryngitis. Instead of dropping off the bill he walked out on stage and explained what was going on, said he wasn't gonna leave anyone hanging and told his DJ to play his tracks because he was gonna mosh with the crowd the whole time, and he jumped in the crowd and did just that. He was having people climb on his back and shoulders, tossing the younger kids up to go crowd surfing, security was 100% on board, it was one of the coolest things I'd ever seen at a live show. No one got hurt, he was taking selfies in the crowd with fans and then he spent the next 3 hours taking pics and signing stuff at the side of the stage for EVERYONE that approached him. My brother didn't have anything for him to sign so he signed his Solo cup. He was genuinely one of the nicest artists I've had the pleasure of meeting and respect for this man hit Super Saiyan 4 that day.
The fact that waka admitted to being wack is so humbling lol I remember all the criticism he got, but he cant deny his talent for bangers and being a hype man

You dont have to be a rapper, you dont have to stay a rapper. Rap is basically an entry level position at a job. The promotion is the percs that comes from being a rapper, movie deals, endorsements, clothing companies, etc. Gotta start teaching these young guys this is what you get in rap for, not to be a TV Gangsta.
Wake had come to Vermont for a concert. I couldn’t wrap my head around it as I was one of the few people who recognized him up here. I approached him by saying “Sorry to disturb you”. He immediately said “no you’re not”. There was a silence and we looked at one another and recognized you don’t have to be sorry for what you want. Dude posed for me, let me take a photo and called it a day. Waka is a real one.
I just watched a video about Chamillionaire. How he kinda went out of the industry as a one hit wonder. Everyone figured he'd broke a few years later like most other one hit wonders. Then come to find out. This dude invested most his money in companies and made 10x more money than he ever did making music.

You gotta remember being an artist you get paid the least amount when you check the other jobs in the music industry. Producers get paid more. Engineers, writers, marketing, etc. Anyone and everyone gets more money before the artist is even paid. So why stay getting a low paying job when you can do other jobs and still stick to music. And then there's investing into other ventures. Look at Akon. He also disappeared and made more money than he ever could have otherwise. He signed Lady Gaga for crying out loud. Imagine that.
