Had it been adopted by the Russian military, it would've been the most useless machine pistol in the world. You simply don't turn a gun with the 8-round magazine into a full auto weapon... The 12-round mags mentioned in this video were designed for a modernized Makarov pistol (PMM). Those pistols and magazines were (and still are) extremely rare and unreliable.
It sounds like a question nobody asked. Anything that's going to be a machine-pistol is going to need a much larger magazine capacity than what is given here with the Makarov.
Good insightful video. No doupt that this Russian "Creature Feature" PM was self defeating waste. The Stechkin was a far better choice as well as the various replacement pistols.
Very clever even if this version is useless. Now maybe using the 5.45 russian pistol cartridge in a highly modified makarov pistol with a double column extended mag one might have something. The biggest criticism is the heavy reciprocating mass so high on the pistol. Does not look very controllable.
