You have a real treasure. Original Soviet Makarovs with matching magazines, all in pristine condition! It's priceless! Also, some clarification regarding magazines. The one which was on the right side (without hump) can also be Soviet made one. Those were manufactured since ~1979 or so. The Bulgarian and Soviet ones without hump can be distinguised only when you have one next to another. Very minor differences, basically finish of the metal and feel. But once you've touched both of those variants, you will know even in the middle of the night :)

Hey guys, I know this is an old post but I'm looking for some help. I own a 99% unissued 1983 Izhevsk military PM that has no import markings. I know this is rare as hens teeth, and I would like some help and advice on how to value it. It's obviously north of $2k now, but I don't know how far north. Any advice? Anyone seen McCollum's raffle pistol from this month?

Excellent video, Mr.Antaris. The PM is truly an iconic pistol, and Historic Investments is the only place that has consistently carried the Soviets over the last several years. My name is Michael. You may remember me. I'm a collector who recently purchased a 62' low #80 serial Soviet from you. We had some interesting conversations about the date codes and such. Anyways, I love the pistol and have been referring people your way. Most recently my friend Trevor who ended up picking up a gorgeous 76'. It was his first Mak, and he absolutely loves it. Looking forward to more videos and hopefully doing more business in the future.

Here in Lithuania, my firearms instructor was a retired Soviet army Major who collected Makarovs and according to him the best quality ones are from pre-Perestroika era (1975 and older) because due to economic hardships quality was dropping. Not to mention how much worse post-soviet IJ70 are. I had 1972 one for a while because those at the time were ~120$

Mind if I ask what you paid for them? Atlantic Firearms has a new shipment of very nice Bulgarian Makarovs in stock for $499. To me, it seems a little steep for a surplus pistol. Not long ago they had Beretta 92S going for about $350-ish, which seems like a better deal IMO.

@@Luife1978 Hello. During the mid-1970's the factory at Izshevsk, (No. 622,) started to transition to investment cast hammers, safeties and triggers. This didn't happen all at once so you will see things like 1976 dated PM's with a mix. As far as I can tell the investment cast safety came last. (It is blued with serrations and a rounded profile. Take a look at the commercial IJ-70 PM's if you want to see one.) Regards, Henry
