its so sad that i never got that ship, life happened and had to pay a nuts electric bill, and onse i got that handled didint have accase to one SSD anymore. so sad
Really nice comparison, thx! Was one of my best days in life when I won this ship at Citizencon 2947! Always liked my Raven, now even more. Hint: If you don´t like the camera shake, you can adjust it in game settings ("global camera shake").
Damn you're lucky! I think it's a GREAT ship, I wish I was lucky enough to own one! Sadly that is with global camera shake turned off, it's related to the new Helmet HUD UI they implemented, sadly there is no way to turn it off atm, believe me I've tried.
Really nice ship. Sadly never got the chance to get one because that promotion ran well before I got involved with SC. But I did get the chance to fly it once thanks to a kind citizen who borrowed his to me. That big thing on the belly is where the 2 EMP coils are housed btw. It opens when you turn them on. What I am curious about with the upcoming firebird is if it will have the data storage that the Raven has since the Raven is also supposed to be a datarunner.
Sadly that promo was before I was playing too... Thanks for the info on the EMPs, makes sense that is where it's unique feature is housed as the belly is where the Firebird's missiles are. Also I had no idea that it had data-running capabilities, VERY cool!
Why did they need to do away with the Brighter blue marker lights, in favor of much Lighter blue? (perhaps it's poor hanger lighting?) No more BLUE retro thruster grille? The blue retro thrusters gave it a unique look, that blue and black exteriror treatment. The thin (rather than round) maneuvering thrusters look much better. And the storage is useful. Overall ok.
They changed the color of the “intakes” (I think they’re actually the reverse thrusters) - not sure I like that as much, but it still looks good thankfully Earned a sub! Good comparison!
Thanks for the Sub! Up close the intakes / retro-thrusters are actually a really nice Bronzey-copper. I think they add a bit more of a premium feel, over the blue that was there before, the new Firebird's look the same...
They need to come out with a roll around ladder for your hangar so you can walk up on top of the ship to change components and such. That is what we used on the flight line to get up on top of jets to access certain things. Not sure how you change out components in the hangar as it stands now.
Yeah, honestly they're really badly positioned. Perhaps you can open your ship ladder (but not youe cockpit and walk up) but shirt of EVA or a low Grav moon, I agree, not sure how your supposed to change them out.
@@kaventiaplays Yeah, that is actually what we did most of the time in the hangar on real fighter aircraft. Climb the crew ladder, step on the intake where it specifically says "No Step" and then walk back to access panels where we needed to work.
Honestly I danced around a Cutty that intercepted me in the Firebird and it didn't land a shot, I think the MM tuning for the Sabre (Raven & Firebird) is actually REALLY good.
Honestly I think it's a REALLY good improvement over the previous version, lots of subtle improvement bringing up the overall quality! :) But yeah, the price is NUTS!
@@ThailandAdventures-zy3nr They're about $2.3k on the grey market right now. When the optane drives first came out, they were going for anywhere between $5 and $200. Intel actually had a raffle recently (within the last couple months) and handed out more. It's hard to say if they were just getting rid of the rest of them before their exclusivity deal runs out, or what.
The Firebird is needed, no ship should be locked behind a paywall or exclusivity based on purchases. Sure have rare ones with cosmetic flair such as the BIS paints, Valkyrie Liberator etc, but the ships you can buy in-game. The Raven needs that, it needs an equivalent so that this is the cosmetically rare variant.
I prefer the newer version, especially the cleared MFDs in the cockpit. overall I feel like the Gold pass, was a success... But looks are subjective & I totally get that some people may prefer the old design!
When META was on Repeaters it had Canons, when META become Canons it have Repeaters. And still, this ship looks little bit out of league in compare with similar ships. Warlock 4 example have 1 more 3 size gun, and missiles, warlock also faster, more maneuverable, smaller profile in 2/3 directions. And Raven have only slightly better EMP. Soo unfair. I think Raven should get a little buff. And actually like all other Sabers.
I don't think the Warlock has a smaller profile, and I think the advantage of the sabre is that you can stagger your EMPs to use them more frequently. But yes the avenger series in general is in a REALLY good position at the moment. As for the weapon meta, it's a LOT deeper than I thought it was in Master Modes, lots to consider when building loadouts now.
@@Skar38rus I think Raven had old metrics from CIG that were wrong; I believe it's 24.0m x 20.5m (Beam) x 5m (height) I think Avenger is 22.5 x 16.5(Beam) x 6.5 (height)
