The Wisdom of Odin is a vlog of my journey through Norse Paganism, a way to assist others along their journey, and a place to promote a positive image for all of paganism.
While I personally declare myself as a Norse Pagan, I speak on topics that also involve aspects of Asatru, Heathenry, and other pagan identities such as Slavic/Celtic/Germanic paganism.
All gatherings are set up and managed by The Fellowship of Northern Traditions, a non-proft religious organization. This channel/community is inclusive to all but is also non-political.

Thank you for not only sharing but for the lengths at which you have to go to do so. I appreciate what you’re doing tremendously. I love seeing your awe and excitement because I too am feeling that way, all the way from the states.

Once again, as with the museum in Denmark, seeing your awe and reverence for the items is truly touching. Thank you for these. It is incredible, although through a screen, to see the artifacts of my ancestors. I can only imagine it in person.

I love how you have Greensleeves playing in the background, on Cello and flute. There were some kind of Tan decorative materials suspended from the ceilings and some passed over drinking horns behind you as you began the montage. Thank You so much for showing us these things! Though I am unable to contribute funds for these videos, I still appreciate you and your efforts to bring them to me. Skal!

Jacob...how utterly mind boggling!! Doing Ancestry, I found out that my Mother was of German and Norwegian descent. Father Scottish. Always thought Mom was pure German. So this is absolutely fascinating for me. Am 71 and have been practicing Witchcraft for a good 20 years although I realize I always have been a Witch, drawn to Nature all of my life. Thank you for this Vlog. To experience your excitement is truly special. Have a Blessed Mabon.

If going via Denmark I can recommend to visit Roskilde and their Viking ship museum. It´s an hour by train from Copenhagen. They also build them with same tools as available then in open workshops and you can sail them in Roskilde Fjord. In Roskilde you also have nearly all Kings and Queens buried from 1000 years of the Kingdom of Denmark from the left Viking age and to this date. The coffins/tombs in themselves describe history and are fascinating.I hope I wrote this in time for you to have a chance to incorporate it into your trip.

That speaker voice in Swedish was simply calling interested children to ”story time”. Not ”who’s up for blood eagle”. 😂 Thanks for posting. When living here it is easy to take these things for granted. 🇸🇪 It’s nice seeing you light up as you see them and speak of them with such awe and reverence.

Curious where the Gold came from - for example the early Bronze Age Nebra Sky Disc (dated 1800BC, found in Germany) has gold from Cornwall, South West Britain

Regarding the Buddha you show from the 5-6th century it very likely came via the Danish Vikings that over periods were visiting Turkey. Remember that you inside Hagia Sophia in Istanbul can find Viking "graffiti", still there to this day. So Asian trade routes probably brought it to this area and Vikings traded it there and brought it to the Nordic region. Also possible that it were traded via Asian trade routes into European parts of todays Russia and brought closer to the Baltic region areas that were visited by both Danish and Swedish Vikings but personally I find it most likely it came via Turkey.

That was so awesome! I would absolutely love to go there but long ways from Montana lol. I was blown away by the chains and shoulder pieces that were worn, maybe by women? Have an antique doll from about 1880 that has those chains on her dress along with kind of a shield placard that is beaded. I thought she was Swiss, I would love to know the era of that style, medieval? That is so cool! Thank you!

I want to learn more about the cult of the boar, the only thing i ever hear about it is that it exists. I've heard plenty about the problematic and useful things the cult of the bear and wolf did, but i can't think of a single story about the boar cult.

This video was very special to me. I only learned about my Swedish ancestry within the last 5 years when I took a DNA test, so I have been eating up all I can on Swedish history. I have seen many of these artifacts in books, but it was exciting to see them through YOUR eyes. Thank you so much! I especially loved seeing that depiction of Tyr with his arm in the wolf's mouth, and all the wolf cult pieces. The more I learn about my ancestry, the more my passions in life make sense :) Thanks Jacob for taking us along! ❤

Nearly two years ago the Fellowship of Northern Traditions was founded by myself and over a dozen others. The community website is: www.northerntraditions.org There you will see we have raised over $20,000 to purchase land in the United States to begin the process of establishing sacred land that can be used for spiritual events. I have been a full time RU-vidr for three years now. Therefor it is my job. Which requires a lot of work. I am lucky enough to have a job I love doing that allows me to travel. However this was not easy to accomplish, nor is it easy to maintain.

That stone from Gotland with the big sun wheel is so fascinating, because the style is so unlike the usual Nordic style, and looks nearly identical to the Georgian borjgali, except the latter has seven "rays".
