People had a habit back in the day of putting a hole in each shock tower to be able to grease the front end, can be fixed, but shouldn't been done. You can put 90's grease ( zerk ) fitting in place.
Amazing that you can still find a Boss 302 just sitting in a field in 2024. That's a once in a lifetime find. That stang has less rust on it now than my '69 fastback had back in 1981! LOL.
White Swan Yakima Indian reservation. Same thing. I hunt near there every year. See cars like this. Roadrunners, Mustangs, Camaros. Old trucks. Maybe drag one home this year.
It's true. Three years ago I dragged a 67 mustang out of the weeds on a farm in NorCal. Gave the guy a generous $2500 for it. It's restored back to a daily driver.
I had a 1966 Impala "ss" Convertible it was as rough as the Ford and Mercury when my friend bought it in 1986. It only had a 283 and a 2 bbl. from factory.
that is just making my head shake. been there two minutes and they kick the door? some of these are loved by like hard core Ford fans and he just kicks it. I remember my first new car I'd get up and go look at from my window. I loved it that much. My first car was a 69 Mach1 that totalled by a drunk driver so it got taken from me as well as two 93 Cobra Mustang both stolen got one back then traded it in. I'm just not lucky with Mustangs. Did find a 68' Ford Cobra and got it running after two years. I guess I have respect for rare things no matter it's condition it's like an old friend.
I too have respect for these cars? Was it my dad that kicked the car? I am constantly reminding family that just because it’s dirty with 50 year old paint, doesn’t mean it’s a shelf to lay your crap on. It’s lasted over 50 years, I’d like to preserve it best I can
Thanks. I’ve been keeping track of Eliminators for the past 10-11 years and have wanted a 4.30 Boss car for most of that. Maybe a future video will Include dragging home a factory 4.30 super drag pack Boss Eliminator in Comp Green on white decor interior - only one built with that combo
I seen a green Cougar Eleminator with the Boss 302 & ram air scoop. It was sitting in the front yard. I can't remember if it was in the mid or late 1970's. It's been too long,it was in IN,just can't remember what town it was in. Good luck with both cars! Also there was a guy that bought a brand new, 1969 Mach One triple black 428CJ w/4 speed. In the mid 70's he was wanting $2500 for it. We thought that was too much for it! LOL
Very cool fine it's a pure race car from Mercury to keep pace with Chevrolet and Dodge I like the car double shock mounts do the oversized radiator Mercury had it going I wish I would have kept it going
Love the eliminator. I have a 68 cougar, 289 buckets and console car fully restored and out of the 80 plus cars ive owned in my 22 years of driving the cougar is one ill never sell ever
