Update: The dialogue ( 3 lines) spoken by Oryx, Only happens when you play the mission Regicide on a new character and this will only happen once, unless a bug or glitch or something happens.
They should have made a voice line where if you were carrying the Crux of Crota, oryx would like give one specific line of dialogue saying " how dare you carry his remains" blah blah blah
not in lightfall but i firmly believe he will return as the middle ground to his sisters eventually, savathun now wields light, xivu arath is a disciple, everything that oryx lived was a lie if he ever comes back he will be fucking pissed at both, the darkness/witness for lying to him, xivu arath for being subservient to the witness instead of taking its place by force, savathun for being gifted the light instead of taking it
Sadly Callas never got the level of character development that oryx got It’s a shame really I thought Calais is going to be an interesting character but when it turns out he’s just a douche bag and comparing that’s an oryx is dumb because works as a grieving father fueled by nothing but hatred and rage at the time the taken king the only thing that has is the power

Let my will set you free " always here, sometimes Oryx says something like " I will erase your Light " , can't remember now, but it's something referred to Light. Also, there's another one ( not in this video ) : when Oryx has extremely low health, rarely he says " Crota fell. I will not "
Imagine if he said "What you call Darkness, is your Salvation" instead of "What you call Darkness is the end of your evolution". That would've had us confused for 6 whole years.
Like the quote on the Wrath of the machine raid; "Where the light ends, Evolution begins." Pretty much The Big Daddy of all daddys was coming for us and the traveler.
kinda wish oryx didnt have to die, he was the only villain with enough real power and characterization to actually be considered a real danger to a guardian. He should have been saved for Destiny 2, it would make much more sense and would honestly be an improvement over Ghaul
All enemies are dangerous to a guardian, all it takes is killing your ghost then you with in the lore. Hive are the most dangerous to guardian's Inherently since they can drain light.
Oryx: casually sends Crota to be the Hive counterpart to Saint for the Vex. Also Oryx: personally comes for vengeance because half a dozen humans just bitchslapped Crota out of existence the moment he reforms in his throne world.
Man I remember the day I fought Oryx, I was so happy when I beat him because I had the feeling of beating a very hard boss in a game and afterwards you feel like the boss after killing the boss, did that even make sense
I think Oryx says this dialogue in the quest mission when you start a new character, but then the reason i found his speech was playing the daily mission for regicide, so maybe its just random whether the dialogue will come or not.
Just came back from watching the Beyond Light trailer, and I have to say that Oryx was wrong. Darkness isn't the end of our evolution at all; it's just the beginning.
Technically, he is correct. The Darkness’ end goal is the Final Shape, a state of which you are basically perfect. The perfect, powerful organism with control over everything in the universe. The Universe will eventually reach an end point in which all stars die and the universe is left cold and lifless, only organisms that have evolved to be able to beat every challenge in the universe can survive there. The Vex are the final shape, the end of evolution. Due to our powers given to us by the Light and Darkness, we can usurp the Vex and become the Final Shape ourselves.
This brings me back to when my brother used to play this game, I'm a destiny 2 player but my brother is a veteran of the series, he hasn't though seen what shadowkeep has and he most likely doesn't want the PTSD he had from my mother
@@Donts_blackwell Probably actually. If you ever wondered “what were the hive doing on the moon in Shadowkeep?” Well that’s understandable because they never fully tell you. The hive on the moon were considered Heretics because they were trying to resurrect Oryx. They had the mind set of “If our will is stronger then that mean we still used the sword logic to bring him back” kinda weird but they also said “if Oryx is mad at them for doing this he would strike them down but with this happening he would regain a lot of strength.”. But the biggest thing about this is that one of the Daughters of Crota, Hashldun, was actually being told by Savathun to go and start this. Also while they were attempting this, as a counter measure if it didn’t work, they made “The Pit” where Hive would fight for glory. The Hive who won the most was Zulmak, the dungeon boss, then he got his ass handed to him by this one hive who like fused with three others, but so what happens is Savathun then takes the corpse of Zulmak and ripped his soul out and then put it back making him stronger? Idk man. OK back to Oryx. We never fully stopped the Hive down there so they still in theory could bring Oryx back but he wouldn’t be as strong as he was before.
If you kill him fast enough you can glitch the game. Use Melting Point or Viking Funeral and a shotgun and if you kill him before he teleports you it glitches
I hear one of these lines once everytime I do regicide on continued characters. Maybe we have to stall out the fight and damage him a certain amount until he talks?
It's random whether he says it or not. Most of my dailies doing Regicide, he never speaks after "At last. I will have vengeance". Until one day, he said "Your light will die". I was in a fireteam of 3 and only I managed to get the dialogue. So it's rare.
@@TBONE_2004 Haven't played in a while but didn't Savathun do what she did FOR the traveler? Wasn't there a whole cutscene where she was accepted by the traveler and brought back to life because it believed she had good reason for doing what she did? You'll have to tell me cause like I said, been a while since I played and I'm one foot in the loop and one foot out.
I remembered playing this raid with my friends when i was in year 2 of my school and i was the only one playing becoz my friends were all scared of oryx’s voice 😂
Going back to play this in 2024 makes me very grateful to have witnessed (heh) the growth of Destiny's writing quality over the years. I love Oryx but in-game is just an emo child barking what they think would make you scared compared to what you could read in the Books of Sorrow. Savathün and Xivu have set the bar so much higher, that i imagine when Oryx does return, the performance will be holy enough to make everyone forget the original from D1.
You only kill his physical form in Regicide, you kill his true Ascendant form in King's Fall. A Hive god can only truly die if killed in their Ascendant Realm, when killed outside it their soul returns to the Ascendant Realm to recover.
I always loved this boss fight in Destiny. Unlike pretty much all bosses in the series, the focus is actually on the boss. The boss is the primary threat and the mobs are just there to drop ammo. In all other boss fights, the primary threat is the mobs, because they will tear you up if you ignore them.
The witness is just a bobble head that floats with big black jello eyeballs, basically mega mind. In a 1v1 oryx vs the witness I can just imagine willbreaker slicing right through that gelatinous pillowy forehead of the witness
I'm surprised at all that this video is Still being seen, and all i did was record it on xbox and uploaded it just to show lines that oryx says only once(unless a glitch) that he says when u make a new character.
