Jonathan Arroyo By being a Veteran. You can't go back in time when Destiny 1 was created so you can't be a Veteran. There's Veteran character who play since Year One players, Average character who play since Year Two Taken King, Rookie character who play since Year Three Rise of Iron, and finally Noob character who play none of Destiny 1 And I say 'character' instead of 'player' because people who change console or account still won't get the message even being a higher ranking character

Hated that and still hate that. It should be easy to create a database searching function that searches peoples linked accounts on bungie and if the veteran flag is marked on 1 account, it should auto be marked on all accounts linked to that bungie profile.

It's really strange the things they cut out. Why would they cut Rasputin out when they had the DLC planned? Why avoid calling the fallen eliksni when forsaken will use it again? Why remove oryx when he will be mentioned next DLC and be important for forsaken? It's like they didn't expect any new player to actually keep playing the game.

@@bengale9977 hey newlight player here. So this blew my mind but I think it was to prevent spoilers. Without context for most of the dialogue I can do nightwave missions without having the story spoiled, but if they are too specific about things you end up piecing together some key parts of the story.

Curious that that line is even in with newbie characters but they still couldn't include the rest of this dialogue.

We slew Oryx, the heart of the black garden kinda just had a stroke after we broke too many toys.

The_Noodle_Thief kind puts a tear in your eye, knowing that they did everything they could do so you wouldn't be forgotten. The veteran intro to the game that shows all your achievements in destiny actually made me tear up a lot and that's very rare. Bungie knows how to pull on the right heart strings. I'm glad they added different dialogue because I bought the game for pc as well and none of my pc friends have ever played destiny. So this will make them jealous XD

Metalrain's gaming That veteran intro actually made me emotional as well. It put a big fat smile on my face after seeing all the dates and the fire teams I had to complete every end game activity. It's those experiences that keep me going on Destiny. No other game has managed to grasp my attention and focus like Destiny.

If you looked closely, not only does the art work show what class you played as, but you can see the weapons your character was using at the time. I finished the black garden with a rocket launcher and scout rifle and sure enough the art work showed my character holding a scout rifle and a rocket launcher on his back.

If they mentioned the moon, what moon would it be? We literally play on 3 moons in destiny 2: Luna: Earths only moon Io: one of Jupiters moons Titan: one of Saturn's moons So that's why it referred to as Luna, its actual name.

I think it remembers your progress if you connected your bungie account to your PSN or XBOX account and Your Bilzzard account for PC. They might have some rewards for veterans from the console version

Makes me wish i played d1. I don’t own an Xbox or playstation, but I really enjoy D2, especially forsaken. I’m having a lot of fun grinding Gambit triumphs and The Drifter Oozes lore for every introduction of the match. as Shaxx would say, I love it.

For any wondering what Eliksni is/are. It's simply a different name for The Fallen and I believe it's their species . But either way it's a different name for them.

I think by D3 all D1 stuff will just be general lore regardless of playing, we can expect 2-3 years until the next game, it would be unfair to players who went back, unless they re-opened D1 transfer at some point

Someone will try to explain the hive and how they can be summoned with rituals, so that's how shadowkeep happens and I stop them and talk about iron banner on ps3; sometimes they never even knew iron banner was a thing back then lol.

I think the players that started with D2 are probably just Guardians that became Guardians after these events or just didn't fight Crota/Oryx and didn't bacame Iron Lord's.

Maybe you had to do skolas and VoG to unlock those specific lines? I don't know if the OP did those.

I wouldn't be surprised if it does require you to do a few more specific "milestones" to get extra dialogue, considering it obviously was paying attention to when you first completed certain activities(HoW story, skolas, black garden, DB story, crota's end, regicide, KF, etc. etc. etc. all have the dates you completed them and even what fireteam you did them first with in your personal "legend".)

in the beginning when shaxx calls the guardian young wolf he’s referring to the rise of iron dlc for d1 because the guardian in d1 defended against siva and killed there archon priest aksis.the part where caged asks the guardian if he’s ready to borrow the shit is referring to the taken king dlc of d1 in one of the missions the guardian had to borrow eris’ ship and use it to bored the dreadnought to wage war against the hive god oryx who is the father of a different hive god called Crota. The part where cayde references to eliskni is because that is what the “fallen’s” true name are before they got corrupted by the darkness.there is another part that is not in the video but during the curse of Osiris dlc when the ghost sees the vex he says “they look different” or something like that but for a veteran it says”these are the vex from the vault of glass” or something similar to that. The vault of glass is another dlc of d1 and those vex are the ones protecting the vault of glass which held atheon the “leader” of the vex who controlled the timeline until the guardians killed him.

Sorry if I miss spelled anything but I do hope what I wrote helps you understand the story of destiny more.

Julian the fallen never were corrupted by the darkness, they just wanted the traveler back after it fled their home world when the darkness found it.

McCbobbish had to beat the raida and events, when it shows the past achievements part when starting d2 if you dont have certakn ones it doesnt know if you ever beat it. Most likely the first two dlcs ur missing of eris and the fallen

It uses vet dialogue from your achievements from D1 meaning if you didn't defeat skolas you would for example not get the banner one

Skolos is at the prison of elders at the reef you can't miss him he's a big asshole by the way and I beat every DLC , Missions, strikes and Raids etc.

Triumphs, they tracked data among every activity you’ve completed and have yet to. Such as the first one, if you were a year 1 vet but never finished the Rise Of Iron, Shaxx would call you by your Class name, since technically, Saladin never called you a young wolf since you never play the campaign. This may include completions of Raids(maybe for the Oryx one, not sure since I completed everything.) or Strikes.

lolcerditorock in the failsafe strike (this week's nightfall) I thought I remember a line about young wolf.

I have not tried any strike(s) on my New account so I don't know, but I'm assuming lines like that are just not said at all.

Destiny veterans will know SIVA and all the Fallen houses but I kinda feel sorry for the newcomers they don't know any of this stuff maybe they could watch let's play or but a console or read books on destiny to help them know.

Blazko They really need to give PC players the option to hear all the veteran content if they want, since it wasn't exactly possible to complete Destiny 1 content on PC. This is going to be a huge issue, maybe not super important, but extremely common.

I 100% agree. Just a simple option in the settings menu would be great.

To me it matters more then an emblem because dialogue changes the way you receive the story. It also makes it seem like your character is on a much more personal level with the vanguard and other characters. It makes your character feel more attached to the events of the game instead of feeling like some random guardian that showed up out of nowhere.

Matthew Turvey I played destiny on the Xbox one and when I switched to PS4 for Destiny 2 it sucked.

Wade Riley its not tho. I downloaded the game off a friends account and had no fucking clue what anything was cause i never liked d1. Those lines took the stress of wondering who tf oryx or eris morn were or saladin. I learned later as i got invested i n the game
