How deceiving this is... *Banjo Music* Hey it's Rare. We still exist. Just to remind you, we used to make good games. Frequently. And we're makin' a game. On the Xbox 360. A fun one. *Cue Wii Sports*
Literally like 3/4 of the original staff left because they hated working for Microsoft and alot of the staff were about to be let go and they had to leave
Rare, you were the reason why I got into gaming. You showed me the adventures of Banjo-Kazooie. You let me have fun with my future best friends on Diddy Kong Racing. You were still with me in video games when you made Conker's Bad Fur Day. Now look at you.
I would really want to see the crowd's reactions to this trailer, everyone must've felt extremely dissapointed. This trailer felt like a fatal stab into the balls. RARE please return back to Nintendo, it's your rightful place! :'(
Almost every single dev that worked with Rare in the 90's left the devloper studio over the past 13 or so. Starting with the departure of half of the devs who developed Goldeneye to form Free Radical. Rare is called Rare just for name sake. Nothing else.
@FieraDevilWings The Ice Key was to be used in Crystal Caves in Donkey Kong 64, where it would open a large Ice Door. The Red Egg was to unlock Bottles Revenge in Banjo-Tooie as said. The Yellow Egg was to be used in Conkers when it wasn't rated M, Nabnut (the squirrel who owned the yellow egg) would give it to his friend Conker, another squirrel.
@FieraDevilWings The Blue Egg was to be transfered to DK64 via a Teleporter found in DK's house that everyone thought was a shower. The Pink Egg and Cyan Egg was to be used in Conkers as well.
How the mighty have fallen... The company that made Donkey Kong Country, Killer Instinct, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie and Jet Force Gemini is now making minigame compilations for the next-gen EyeToy. For shame.
Kinect Can't: work in small rooms. Kinect Can't: Work with floors which have any kind of clutter on it, or colourful busy carpets Kinect Can't: Work with uneven lighting, insisting you have even lighting all the time which means moving lamps and furniture around and having the light on whenever you're playing it Kinect Can't: Work well if you aren't stood at least 6ft away with 6ft horizontal playing space
I don't see the problem. I grew up with Rare with DKC and Banjo-Kazooie and all that, but just because this game is different and it seems to be copying Nintendo doesn't mean this is a bad game.
Kinect Can't: keep track of who's playing and who's watching as anyone who merely passes through the room, it'll constantly pick up and try to log into the game, then fail to do so. Screwing up your entire flow of play. Even if you're merely sitting watching, it'll insist it attempt to log you in. Kinect Can't: be used by small children who will inevitably move around faster than Kinect can track.
Kinect Can't: Be used while sitting Kinect Can't: work properly if you have pets in the living room Kinect Can't: replace the cost of 4 controllers for co-op play as previously suggested (only tracks 2 active)
@MrAperaturescience what jerk at Rare said, "Hey, you know what would be funny? To make everybody think that it's a brand new Banjo-Kazooie game and then just give them a big letdown. That would be great"
For some reason I was actually expecting their "surprise" to be something like oh I don't know maybe a new plattformer? No wonder Rick Roll is in the related videos.
I can't believe that I got RareRoll'd. My hopes were up when I heard Grunty music, yet this shit pops up! Rare, I miss you! Microsoft is like a bad influence on you!
@MastaAnonII Actually, after Tim & Chris Stamper, pretty much the only talent at Rare, left BEFORE Microsoft bought them. Nintendo didn't even put up a fight because they realized this. Rare was turning to shit before Microsoft even got hold of it.
