When partying wasn't serious business...look at those smiling people. No selfie-bullshit, just partying. Less professional, less rules. Glad I was part of this! Good times.
The real days no phones, no selfies and instagram or giving a shit what you looked like. As long as you were on a level that’s all that mattered. Miss those days 😎
So beautiful to see so many people actually DANCING!!!! It appear more like an ecstatic dance than a dance festival current day terms. Bring the expressice dance I say!
I was born in 1993 and I have been absolutely obsessed with psytrance since I was 15. This video has warmed my heart so much, seeing all those people stomping away to what was so new and absolutely revolutionary sounding, bringing them all together for some unforgettable experiences. Literally brought a tear to my eye watching some of these scenes 🥲
As the name TRANCE is calling us it means a music to fall in trance. Don't forget it. Why its a thing to fall in trance? To transform yourSELF. That the real value of real trance party. Purification, catharsis, metamorphosis.
Yeah, it was an emerging scene back in the 90's. Different energy, run by different type of people with a different attitude. Was a true psychedelic culture back then, unlike today. Music is completely different too. Bit like the British punk scene back in the 70's. Only lasted about 5 years before the imitators took over and the true pioneers left.@@pranaysalgaonkar4225
Wow just took a trip into memory lane, Goa 1989 till 1992 what a blast it was, great to see after all those years people still having a blast ...keep on moving! RIP dear Olli x
The days when it was about you, your state of mind, and the music...fast forward to the superstar DJ on stage being stage worshipped by the crowd while playing music manufactured to a recipe...
When the DJ, Club and Rave culture of then has more energy, rhythm, tribal feeling and connection to the underground than today's scene and in dire need for comeback.
Beautiful. Brought back a lot of memories. This video made me feel really happy and really old. And both of those things are fine. In 1997 this music, these people, and this scene changed my life forever in the best possible ways. It's a part of me, and it's been a grounding and hugely encriching element of my existence ever since. I'm so grateful to all the older folks back then who helped - through nothing but openness and kindess - an awkward, lanky 17 year old to realise he could be the person he felt he was, not the person he was told he should be. I try to pay it forward.
I love it all , the outfits the hair the music and the progression and evolution of humanity from the first drum to the present!!! man it’s been a long ride
@@SickOfItAll1988 It is and it's really wonderful to have that little capsule of time recorded . I can also see how happy I was (I am the girl in white, smiling a lot) It was another time. I'd return to that time in a heartbeat.
Japanese parties from 97-2000 were amazing inside and out from Nijima island to Mt Fuji to the Yokohama bay hall. Thank you Equinox, Vision Quest, Chikuya, Trance Cafe, Solstice, and the myriad of other promoters that made an unforgettable scene happen in one of the most amazing countries in the world. I was there and I lived it and the cops thank god never ever bothered us lol and the mushrooms grew fast and legal. I think you just had to be there.
Classic .... I was down in Kagoshima and Miyazaki then and used to go to some trance parties up in Tokyo....even Yoyogi park had trance parties on weekends. I supported myself ...well 80% of my income was selling legal shrooms to all the gaijin in Kagoshima/Miyazaki for the years I lived there. Great times!!!!
Some tracks I recognized: Sheyba - Ganesh, Astral projection - Mahadeva, Tandu - Alien pump, Age of Love?? Sounds like a remix 9:55 Technossomy - VTOL 12:45 X-dream? But cannot remember the track, or maybe Tim Schuldt (track Pacemaker?) Astral projection - Life on Mars 14:45 Paps? Vibes from the other side?? Not sure but sounds like Cosmosis - Spores from space Infected Mushroom - Psycho Morphem - Degi Wah
This was before "psychedelic people" had perfected their "sexy" structured dance moves. Back then people were just trying to let their newly-found energies be expressed through their bodies as freely as possible. Thus their movements looked more raw and random. When you next go to a psychedelic party I recommend trying to discover new moves all the time, to break the typical patterns.
What is so strange to me about this, is how in the 90s I was fascinated with the hippie era of the late 60s and disco era of the 70s and longed to have lived in that era. But I was already living in the 90’s-early 2000s “version” of those times.
I say similar things, like how being a teenager in the 90's, I was obsessed with the 60's and how now, the 2020's, the 90's must seem like the 60's did to me back then for anyone into it of course. I was 18 in the 1991/92 season in Goa, being there changed me forever, such great times. ❤ We were blessed, are blessed to experienced such great times, memories, so beautiful. ❤
Dancing is the human beings ultimate happiness 💃🕺🍄 My first ever psychedelic Trance party was VISION QUEST PARTY 🎊. in the club Zepp Tokyo in 1999 , never stop after that… been many festivals around the world including burning man in 2015/ 2018 , but my most memorable party was GATHERING 2000 visionquest at Nagano Japan in 2000 🍄
I was at that Alien Safari party...You left out the Australian parties, Green Ant and Rainbow/Earthcore...Excellent psy trance parties...PS love your channel.
Looks interesting to see their first steps back then in getting familiar with the high BPM rhythm and slowly and clumsily learned to dance trance music.
Thank you so much Trancentral for this one!! Stuck inside the house (in Athens, Greece) because of the pandemic I can at least watch interesting videos like this one, remember our beginnings and think that in 2021 I will meet again and dance with the people I love. Trance was never only about having fun or just a kind of music entertainment. It was (and still is of course) about personal and collective experimentation, individual and social change, equality and freedom. In two words, it incorporates a counter-hegemonic vision, a vision of a different world. Let's all prepare a strong come back for ideas and practices of freedom from parties, concerts and festivals to libertarian politics and anti-fascism. Otherwise our way of life will fade away as the state and capitalism are now making a very serious and global attack against "nature", human beings and their worlds. Love, peace and unity brothers and sisters!! Happy New Year to everyone!!
Full bs commie crap is your comment! Trance has nothing to do with your political communist bs views! It's all about traveling and experience mind gates. Music doesn't divides it conjoins, exception to that is "new" bs "music" called trap which promotes all the bad stuff. And btw fasism was and is communism, which was invented by jewish masonic lodges back in the day, check your history facts then come back to reality check. Keep commies poison for yourself dont spread the bs.
Well said..brother?the early 90s was 10 yrs before I found trance but I imagine that those parties had a feeling of being part of something pivotal in the growth of humanitys spiritual consciousness not seen scince the hippies cultural revolution in the 60s.Warriors in the vanguard.Pity it's going to take a little longer for hew mans awaking then it seemed at parties even in the early 2000's.
Hopefully these young people were able to bring something back with them from their journeys as we enter a truly terrifying and confusing period of darkness
Great work, thx a lot! I found so great stuff here ... I've been in Goa from 93 to 94. Missing the places, the music and the people too. But also I missing 1 Song: 20Hz by Capricorn 😎
I was there in Anjuna Beach for 4 months for the 93-94 season as a guest of Goa Gil. Go to this video: "Goa 94 party prep" This was the second major party on 20 December 1993.. Olli Wisdom threw the party and Ray Castle also played. It was an incredible party. I also helped decorate this party. Cheers. RIP Olli Wisdom.
@@nickh2935 About 13 years ago, I thought to myself "I have become part of so many incredible things and I have almost 0 tangible archive of them. I should be recording all this..". So I bought a compact camera and a field audio recorder, and for the next couple of years I started recording everything I could... Until I realized... I was becoming consumed by the process and not actually living the experience... I was merely... watching as it unfolded around me... I was deeply disturbed by the contradiction of what this culture meant to me in the first place and how alienated I had become to it... I gave up on the whole "archiving" concept and returned to the actual experience.. I think that is part of what tomo implied. So my heart and mind would advise you to: Dedicate a couple of hours and take a tour around the festival, digitize it.. and then put your smart-phone away (until you need to capture some personal experiences with your friends at the campsite or whatnot..) ..and just Live The Shit Out Of It! In other words... Leave The Shit Out Of It.... Bonus Advice: Put the Line-up timetable away as well ;)
@@TrancentralTV I had an.. Uhm.. "Ultimate Destruction!" incident a few years ago due to a crypto-virus, so I am not sure anything survived it. If I come across any of it at some point, I will let you know. However, the audio recordings might still be backed-up at some external drive around here.
Amazing, i think that we were revolutionaries in a way. Fuck consumerism, fuck politics. All these people coming together from all cultures with a common goal; to feel the love and the unity.
We have a place in germany, still running kinda psytrance. But ofc the modern way, no more storytelling, just dj after dj... i remember back to the end of 90s, a couple to a hundred people in the Waldfrieden. I miss real psytrance parties as fuck:/ Great fact, most of them still raving
