Nice rifle. I commented to you when you first posted it on RU-vid letting you know that it was a No V. I currently have three of them. One of which was sporterized but I put it back to it's original condition with a new made stock. Keep up the great postings.
In iraq in 2007 my LT sanctioned a moustach growing competition. It ran 2 weeks and i knew i would crush it being a shaved Sasquatch. It was between me, a Lance Corporal, and a Staff Sargent. The rule was if we got confronted for our out of regs stache, it had to be shaved. I deftly out maneuvered all higher ups but the SSGT got caught 2 days before the judging and shaved it off. The night before he told me he was gonna win. The morning of he walked up with what were obviously pubes glued to his upper lip. I got first place, he got second just because of his sheer audacity to glue his pubic hair to his face. Felt bad for the third place guy but even he didnt protest. Guard your hair clippings jealousy or they might end up tilting a moustach growing competition.
They only made 20,000 and they were never mass produced. There aren't many left out there alot of the ones that are are no longer in original configuration.
Cool video JonBoy. As usual, informative and entertaining. Thanks for sharing these rare military items from your collection with us. Keep up the good work! 🇺🇸🪖🎖️
My Schleuter Swivel bale is heat number 247A so it's probably a October 43 dated helmet? Mine is interesting though since it has early war paint on the inside but Mid/Late war paint on the underside rim and the outside of the helmet.
@@JonBoyMilitaria Yours is probably running at least August to October 1943 and mine probably October to December 1943. Now big question would be when did the paint on Schlueters change that I would have a 2 tone helmet with original Early war on the inside and late war on the outside at the same time?
