We finally found one of these vintage 1988 yamaha ysr 50 (2 stroke) motorcyles! It needs alot of work, but it should run! We go over the issues, try getting spark, and then attempt to get it running. These little mini motorcycles were made a few years from 1987-1990. Will it start and run? Let's find out! (YSR50)

Back in the 1980's our family ran a motorcycle shop and we had one of those!! That's one cool and fun little bike! The brakes are actually 'worthy' of being called brakes. Top speed was about 40. They were 100% street legal with lights, turn signals, a horn, and brake/tail light systems. 6/88 would have made it an '88 model as the model years usually cut over on July 1st. They were made from '86-'92 according to Wikipedia's entry but I don't remember exactly. You got a sub just for posting a video about the super cool YSR 50 and I can't wait to see what you do with it!!

Thank you! We will try to make a few more videos about getting it tuned in as it runs but could run better. We also don't want to throw a boat load of money at it as the return would not justify unless you keep it long term. Thanks for subscribing!

That bike is made with the same engine as the rx50 special, which is even rarer. Gold Guy has a channel on here with a series restoring one of them that might be helpful to you. I love old bikes!

Had a nice one of these back in the day. I stuff a 1986 KX125 motor in it. Why a KX? Because it was there. Later I stuff a RG500 in a 93 Honda NSR MC21. Still have that one.👍

😂😂😂 hopefully u paid no more than 100 bucks. F that. Your gonna spend more than a grand trying to get every piece. 🤦‍♂️ it’s worth nothing without the title. U can’t get collector price with 98% of the bike missing. 😂 no one wanted these things back in the 90s. I remember going to look at these things at the dealership

Depending on what state he's in getting a title could be pretty easy. As long as he's got a valid bill of sale and the VIN doesn't come back as stolen.

@@DaveC_TN yea. I’m 30 mins from Vermont. But Vermont stopped doing it for New York residents. But it’s very hard bringing things from other states bc of new york being so strict. Yes. Depending on the state bc Vermont doesn’t title any thing like 5years old 😂 I get that. But not every state is like that and is very hard to take it to another state. Bc I would go out of state for this bike. But yes. Very true. But the biggest thing is. I’m doing it for my personal collection. I would ride it.
