I really keep thinking the Germans dialogue on obtaining something like this went about so: “ we need military equipment to have a first world military capable of projecting itself” “We aren’t willing to spend top dollar on new military equipment from Airbus” US: “ I got you, we’ll give you Boeings and Lockheeds from our surplus reserves, they are modern enough, besides they’re just sitting like that surplus dump of tanks we have in Sierra Army Depot” Airbus: “we could be big too if Europeans weren’t such cheapskates...”
