Found your video channel yesterday when I searched for Malaguti mopeds. I just uncovered mines after storing it away because of a small crack in the fuel tank about 12 years ago (bad rubber grommet worn through and cut into the tank, factory defect?). It's still in immaculate condition and has maybe 100 miles on it. It has the digital meters so I need to put a battery on it to see the mileage. I'm surprised to see even the paint and graphics are still flawless. I bought mines from the dealer in 2002 new. I was surprised to find your video and was happy to watch it and see what I have in store for me in checking everything on mines to make sure it's in working order. I do love the 2 strokes as I do have a 1999 Valentino Rossi Aprilia replica with a 70cc kit installed also. I also have a 1979 RD400F Daytona Special which is my toy from when I bought it new. Like you guys, I worked on 2 strokes back in the day and rode Motocross bikes when they were all 2 strokes. I thought I was over wrenching on them at my age of 68 but I decided to put the Malaguti back on the streets here in Hawaii. Thanks for the video which helped me alot to see what to expect since mines was still new so never took it apart for anything, so this will be the first time it's to be worked on. Man you should dabble in vespas. 2 stroke 125cc+ manual shift 4 speed with a clutch. The aftermarket is insane. All metal frame. You can find them cheap to. Love the vids!!!!
Around here there’s maybe 3-4 scooters that people ride and they are Chinese 4 strokes that used to be beach rentals... there’s more 80s early 90s scooters around sitting in barns that I’ve dug out, not many late 90s early 2000s models around here
Here in the uk, I have the f12 100cc air cooled, apparently same engine as the Yamaha aerox/neos 100cc hard to come by parts over here! Can see your rear body panel has cracked under the rear light, must be from pulling it over the fuel tank

You're luky to have a phantom like that, i have myself a Ducati Corse one and i rather it the best scooter i've ever tried. Working on it is a lot easy, it has nice shapes and it is very light and fun to ride, especially if tuned. I recomend you to tune the engine but leave the original graphics because are very rare and beautyfull. cheers from Italy Gigi

I Discovered the scooter scene last year, bought 2 big bored 70cc piaggio typhoon (same engine as in the zip) using one as my illegal trail beach ride and the other for wheeling, got‘em both for 1500$. 4 years ago people threw them from cliffs😅 Sadly this means that 2 stroke scooters are starting to get much more expensive and rear..

You could make that f12 watercooled and make even more power only thibgs u need are waterpump the cover lines abd radiatos and yea of course a cylibder for aerox only real difference is the gearing and rear brake to a factory water cooled minarelli
That’s right I get amazed when I see a random person riding a prebug or elite in my town..I have 2 honda dio fits and there’s like 2 videos about them on RU-vid.. I think they made them for like a year overseas.. I don’t even think scooter people know what they are..
Yo get a runner or an aerox! nah im kiddin the malaguti is fire [i had one without a sticker kit] midnight bleu probably not rare in the netherlands but still loved it. Edit i actually had a couple of piagio zip scoots all type ones they are small and nimble verry nice ride and mostly maintenance free.
This is literally my problem with where I live , there’s. No scoot scene at all, I can’t find a single 2 stroke near me; well I take that back I’ve found like 3 , 2 prebugs both stock , 1400 for one and 2500 for the other, then the only Elite I’ve ever seen was pretty sweet with the jdm body kit and the fu mirror for 2500 and really I’m just not trying to spend that on a scooter, hell I can get a motorcycle for that
Back in the day, in the 80's and 90's, Japanese scooters dominated. For whatever reason scooters in general fell out of popularity in the US until the last few years. I'm in a more rural area, mopeds are big here, lots of people come here for vacation, which means campers, and also mopeds. Lots of folks on scooters in the spring and summer out here. Recently pretty much every road by me is an ATV/UTV trail now as well (so your banshee would be sort of street legal by me, lol!) I could've bought a Jog last summer, I was going to buy an Elite, but I doubt the seller had a title for either. good scooters come up occasionally still within a 30 minute drive, and there are some major swap meets where you can find some vintage scoots and bikes as well. I'm like 30 minutes from Green Bay, and there's a decent scooter scene there too. I guess it all depends on where you're at.
@@MOPBOYZ True, it was nearly like that in the 70's and 80's during the moped boom I'm almost 49, I saw a lot of mopeds when I was younger, not nearly as many nowadays.
That scooter is absolute fire. And yeah, you are gonna get so many clowns that think they know scooters tell you this and that, but I can tell you right now living here in Jersey there are zero dooe ass scooters like that. Rarest I've seen around here for sale are the older Aprilia sr50s. But that Foggy Replica you got is absolutely beautiful, the old school 80s Ferrari style rear tailight is so dope. Is this thing minnirelli based?
Would be sick to do the mean eyes on the phantom but you would ruin the original plastics And if you can Maybe get you're hands on a aprilia sr150 engine or something like that and swap it would be sick. ( i know its hard to get in the us but maybe someone has it ?)
You should one day buy a Gilera Runner fxr 180cc 2 stroke scooter man they are beast and can go 100mph you can even put a 210cc big bore on it its same engine block structure and gears like on piaggio 50'cc same bike on my profile picture they are very rare in america you need to import them we have alot here in europe (Netherlands) but they are becoming very hard to get here too its a stupid fast bike u will never get bored
