I am an avid collector of Pokémon cards but the thing I want most from this is the stamps. I used to collect stamps with my grandma as a kid and she still collects them now. To combine our hobbies with one collectable piece would be great for me!
I had a feeling there would be a specific type of collector really interested in these - for the stamps only! They’re absolutely awesome. The first promotional stamps are pretty cool if you don’t have them yet. Best of luck with the 2nd!
I just got the pikachu card last week for $150. Cheapest I could find. It’s in mint condition and should get anywhere from 9.0-10.0. I’ll update y’all. I consider myself lucky and I’m gonna try to get a box or 2. PSA 10 IS GOING FOR $600-$700!!
Agree with what you said entirely, just print the promos in English and the majority of collectors won't even touch the Japanese variant. But it is the what if it never gets printed in english that also adds to the must have mentality
JLUV just doesn't miss with his videos. I obviously want the promos and will probably buy them later on; but if there's one thing I've learned in this hobby it's to not FOMO-buy (which is like the ethos of this channel now lmao).
Lmao “the second someone dresses up in a suit and tells you that you can make money by investing in them”. He’s definitely talking about @TwicebakedJake. Shots fired
I thought he was talking about PokeNav. Twicebaked Jake has cooled down on the investing talk, but "investing" is all PokeNav talks about, and he obviously only cares about extracting money from Timmies.
Quick question. Would appreciate an answer if possible! On the japan post website to order the box it doesn't seem to mention an upcoming second wave in October? I want to get one, have a friend in Japan?
@@okJLUV thanks for the answer. I didn't mean to type the question mark, I have a friend in Japan. Are the rest of the Japanese 25th anniversary products expected to be put up for lottery on the pokemon center in next couple of weeks?
I was talking about the cards with my buddy and we were kinda joking that if they did make them in english i think i eould still prefer the japanese ones just because it looks so much more classy with the clasic japanese art and japanese letters
This product particularly appeals to me because of the traditional artworks on the cards. I just wish they would ditch the photoshop art on a lot of the new cards an incorporate this art style permanently. I really wanted the two cards but not for more than 40 or so dollars.
You talking about how easy to find the Japanese products apparently are is really making me question how much my sealed Mario and Luigi Pikachu boxes are actually worth…
Spittin’ straight facts. I don’t mind missing out on a couple cards if they weren’t even meant for me. …also felt a few of those examples at the beginning…
That’s what I learned after collecting some japanese cards sometimes rather than paying a lot of money to resellers its better to miss out some of the times even japanese themselves can’t get their hand on their own products. What i really want to say is i completely agree with you on missing out on some products, we should be grateful for what we already own.
With so many products releasing and so many channels hyping product up, sometimes it feels like you aren't even involved unless you're buying everything. Missing out is way more relaxing haha! Glad to hear you feel the same way!
I wasnt expecting to be buying this for retail at all.. I'll probably wait till late october to look at the prices but I just have to buy these.. those Promos are both just incredible in every way :)
Pokémon cards are no longer bought for gaming these days, people buy those cards only to collect them for the money. Therefore, the price of new Pokémon cards is now constantly rising in stores because they are valuable collectibles instead of playing cards for children. Previously, a package of new cards cost about 3 euros in Finnish stores, then the price has risen to 6 euros, to 8 euros and finally to 12 euros. This cannot be explained by inflation because the prices of other products have not risen as much in Finland, except for the prices of other valuable collectibles such as Moomin mugs which also retain their value only if they are retained unused.
@@okJLUV I've been good! I hope you are doing well too, liking the new background and editing to to your vids :) Thanks, fingers crossed, waiting for the lottery results in October!!
Well said king Also yea I wonder how long we have to wait before Pokemon decides to print these special boxes in English as well. Seems kinda mean to withhold them from us especially when they stand to make additional profits, and it definitely screws over Japanese collectors as well at the end of the day because it makes it really hard for them to get. They can't complain about the problem when the solution is in their hands lol I think now that the cat is out of the bag about these special boxes, western collectors will always have their eyes peeled for them even if the "investment" channels magically decide to stop promoting them. I'm not sure if we'll ever go back to those days where these were relatively easy to collect. Current demand so astronomically outweighs supply, that even if demand is cut in half it would probably STILL vastly outweigh supply. It will be interesting to see where this goes honestly. Personally, I've just learned to accept that if I really want one of these boxes I will have to be willing to pay aftermarket prices for them. I'm planning on buying and OPENING a Kanazawa box for around $500 within a month or two cuz F*CK IT I WANT IT lol
You got it it one mate - the solution to many of their problems is there. So why aren’t they implementing it? They’ve got so much to gain from it, on both sides 🤣
Im American do I get credit for the fact I tried to order just the cramorant rather then pika because the art on the pikachu card looks like hes getting his rear-end diddled
Absolutely hit the nail on the head with this one, I’m in a great U.K. discord community and people have been absolutely losing their mind over promos which clearly are not aimed at them - no matter how nice they are! People keep asking how they can get the VMAX Kanto eeveelution Alts and I can’t telling them “you can’t!”. Gonna be linking this video over to there. Really hoping all the investors sod off soon, be good to collect in a market which isn’t inflated again.
I put a preorder in with two different stores before the price really blew up but I do agree there is a chance it might fall through. I bookmarked the site and watched the terms of purchase change and get harder over time which was a bit unexpected. I'll be watching the resell market once it is finally released to see where the price lands
Hey bro, Love the new video. Mad truth being spoken here. I definitely want to learn how to read, speak Japanese. Point me in the right direction my man!
I simply messaged Pokemon International to let them know that there are many people in the West that would love to have cards like these and the Scream Munch promos. Will that persuade them to make English releases of those cards here? Maybe, maybe not? I was simply letting them be directly aware of our desires so that the idea is at least in their minds for the future.
Bro, I'm going to be honest. I need some help securing a Japanese golden pc box. I don't care if I have to overpay. I'd rather overpay and not miss out then wait for more product to never be printed. Where did you preorder yours if you dont mind me asking? Help a fellow collector out. I'd really appreciate some direction here. Awesome video too.
The way you assume we all watch poketubers and pay attention to them telling us what to invest in lol. We do have brains of our own, you know... You aren't the only person who knows anything about Japanese cards. You are like brand new to the scene still.
