Nice video man, I was looking for some games that I was unaware of from when I was younger and now have some ideas what to spend my upcoming tax return on XD
You have a pretty nice collection here. PS1 is something I always buy when I see them at yard sales or something for cheap. Do you have a copy of Silver Load? Most people don't remember that game but I always thought it was awesome.
A lot of those games have definitely skyrocketed in price since this video was made. A complete copy of brigandine sells for over $100 now, I’ve gotten lucky on a lot of my rare finds. Got clock tower for $20, a complete set of Lunar for $40, suikoden 1 and 2 complete for $50. It’s really a matter of knowing where to look. I find most of my rare games at flea markets, garage sales, pawn shops etc. pretty much places where people just want to quickly get rid of stuff without necessarily knowing the value of it and then I buy a few copies, keep one for myself and sell them For what their actually worth
The PS1 version of the Diablo actually has a pretty unique feature, which is clearly indicated on the front cover. "2 PLAYERS". Yes!!! 2 players can play Diablo 1 in the same screen, and no split screen!
I have made some pretty decent deals every once in awhile on eBay . I look for the sellers that accept offers. Or I have lucked out on some bids. The most I’ve paid for a game was 80 dollars for a brand new sealed copy of Silhouette mirage , might sound crazy to some but for a sealed copy I think I personally got a decent deal. I’ve seen that game go for 100 bucks used . Cool collection tho broski 👍🏻. I’m a Huge ps1 fan and collector as well !
Thanks for making this video - cool list - I just wanted you to know Castlevania Chronicles is not rpg'ish at all - Its kinda based on the original Castlevania so platformer/linear levels formula - cool game - nice synth music :) - I think there was even a level with tb303 acid bassline.
I have both Alundra and Azure Dreams, however they are not in good condition. Also, I have PAL versions. Azure Dreams though, is one of my favourite RPG's on the PS1. Hugely Under Rated
You got the tell part Right but you missed the showing demos part thanks anyway some are not so easy to find Like ff7 ff8 ff9 and granstream saga to name a few and some are over the top with prices but I did enjoy your video
Idk why but its not letting me reply to the comments. Anyway Gaming God I just looked up these prices not but 2 months ago and some have increased indeed. I try to memorize all the prices but sometimes my memory takes me back to 2007 when I owned a game store and had to know the prices. Sometimes I get in cruise control. Anyway I always shoot low (another habit from owning a gaming store) and if u can get these games for the prices I quote I recommend it. I do use the videogamepricecharts website and I try to use the "complete" listing as much as possible, still I found a few copies on the internet for some of the prices I quoted so if u dig a little u can always find a good deal. EBay and Amazon are hardly my go to websites to buy video games. I always shoot low in my videos. Another guy said the same about my original Xbox prices. I'd rather be low than the guys saying their copy of FF7 is still worth $70 or another guy that owns a vintage game shop with Brigidine disc only for $250. When I had a game store I always sold my games for under market value. Maybe that's why I don't own a game store anymore? Things are only worth what u can sell them for. Sometimes ppl wait to get top dollar, other times you'll find ppl who just want to sell it fast for money needed. U don't know how many copies of Earthbound I bought for $5-$20. It's over 100 I know that.
+Michael Young Hey bro it was not to offend sorry if you took it that way but the market changes so damn often it can out date a video like this in a matter of weeks lol The collectors market has went crazy! A good thing for you and I because we have almost all the good stuff but I can feel the burn for some of the new guys as collecting PS1 RPGs can get pretty expensive right now......I am complete my collection of US PS1 rpgs in around 3 more titles and to be honest its a relief to me lol I dont think I could afford to do it all over again!!! With that said you have a beautiful collection and its funny we have almost the same taste in games.....you know the good stuff!!!
Gaming God Hey I know bro. It's kinda been a theme throughout my experience with collector's trying to decide what games are worth. I look at it as part of the charm. Just as comic collector's have there favorites and opinions. There have been a couple of comments about how low my prices are. Most of the time that's what either I'd be willing to pay for these games or what I'd sell them for. I see u commenting on my videos as a regular and I really appreciate that. It may have come off as a little defensive but it was more passion for the trade than anything. Thanks for the support and watching my videos. I definitely didn't mean any offense either.
Michael Young LOL as many crappy comments as you poor comment creators get its very understandable :) I see you mention ebay or amazon not being a go to place for your games. Got any you would like to share with an old collector I might try out? I have been collecting since 1976 and a lot of my old favorites closed down years ago....seems we have a lot in common as I used to have a small mom and pop type store for a while also but the economy in my area just could not support it. I should do some collection videos someday just to share some rare stuff I have with the community....I really like your videos so I hope you continue to do them!
damn you man, you are making me spend money on games I missed lol you are making me spend more money than Metal Jesus, Radical Reggie and John Hancock did lol, cool videos
... a 19 years ago i just gave my cousin 78 original games collection there also was a books with game guide ( i remember there was in Shadow man and Soul Reaver ) with 2 dual shock 2 memory cards with console . This was big mistake 🤣
The longer I watch via my last post. Mist of the titles he has presented have grown in price. Even though this was done in 2015. It's now 2016 so, prices may raise or fall.
I might be in the minority here, but Brigandine is one of the best games I've ever played. Turned based strategy rpg, similar to Dragonforce on the Saturn(kinda). I'd spend 100 bucks on it easily if my copy stopped working though.
Interesting list, I have to admit. I would LOVE Symphony of the Night. Been looking for it for ages, but it's really expensive on Ebay. Just out of curiosity, are you planning to sell any of these games? I wouldn't mind buying them =P Obvious answer is obvious, but maybe in the future? Or are you taking these games to the grave?
I'm hoping I can pass my love of video games on to my children but knowing my luck they'll hate video games. I always buy, sell and trade but selling off complete parts of your collection... man that would be compared to selling my tonsils or appendix. It might be a useless piece of crap but it's still a part of me. Sorry it took so long to reply. Thanks for watching and commenting
Michael Young Haha, thought the outcome might be that. Worth questioning though, right? But I agree, I would never sell part of a collection. Thanks for the reply.
I'm starting a ps1 collection, have about 15 games so far that were favorites from my childhood. I've noticed buying online is expensive and people really jack up the prices for a lot of games. Can you recommend a good site to buy from or are most of your pickups from real stores flea markets etc? I noticed you left a comment saying ebay and amazon are hardly your go to stores. I must be doing it wrong LOL I'm kind of sad actually because I owned a lot of these games when I was a kid and my parents sold them or threw them away thinking they weren't worth anything lol
Pawn shops, flea markets are always good places to start. I go to vintage game stores and if I see a game sitting there for awhile, I usually give them a reasonable offer. I picked up Vanguard Bandits with the demo complete for $35 which was half of what they were asking. The very best places are garage sales when u can find games there. bought a box of 40 games from a garage sale for $20. Online sites can be hard but Estarland.com will always ship u really good looking items and I've never got a bad item from there. There prices can very with some games bring really cheap compared to what they should be and others being a little more. Estarland is the site I frequent a lot. DK Oldies.com isn't bad when they have the products and craigslist sometimes works. It's a lot harder to find cheaper PS1 Games these days but just be patient.
***** exactly. That's why there games aren't selling. Most the time now they have some sort of online presence to try to sell games online. They sometimes jack up the price for 2 reasons. 1 in hopes that someone dumb ir desperate will buy a game for a ridiculous amount. And 2 so they have more room to dicker on an offer. U have to remember I used to own my own vintage game store and I know most the tactics they use. I also know when they seem desperate enough to sell games much lower than they normally would. After all, they usually bought those games for pennies on the dollar anyway. Trust me, they picked up most those games from so poor mom who didn't know better, selling her son's PS1 RPG collection for $10 bc she needed to money bc he was off at college. A lot of times they jack up the prices but there are reputable stores out there and if u take the time to establish some sort of relationship, they should be good to u and hook u up. I know there's a stigma on vintage game stores. There are some good ones I promise and there are more out there than ever before
+Michael Young vintage video games stores around my area, grab all their prices straight from ebay. even when I see an item without a price, if I ask for a price they go straight to Ebay to check. It makes me wonder why even go to the store and not just take my chances on buying on eBay and sit at home and wait for the item to get to me. I would only go to video games stores for trade credits cause I'm too lazy to post and sell online.
Itwasme007 most do that to stay up to date but eBay is a bad site to use for prices. There all over the place and any store doing that is just a business and don't know anything about video games except they make money. U should ask them to look at completed and sold items. Sometimes if they had an item for awhile or are in need of money they'll take offers as well. I don't give up if something is priced way out of bounds. I picked up a copy of Neutopia for Turbografx 16 the other month that a store had priced at $80 hu card only. I said I'd buy it for $20 and the guy didn't even blink before saying yes. Plus there are bad vintage stores and really good ones. It's about 9 bad stores for every 1 good one but once u find a good store and owner, make a friend or contact. U buy some games from the guy and he'll start throwing u some deals. U can usually tell just by the way the employee or owner approaches u. "Can I help u with something?" "I was looking at that Panzer Dragoon Saga. Is it complete?" "That's a good eye. That game is really rare and only 20,000 were printed. On top of that it's really a fun RPG which is strange for the Panzer Dragoon series. Really underrated. It's a little on the pricey side tho. We take trades and stuff but collector's usually go for stuff like that. U want to put it in and see that it works? I have some saved data to show u some really cool gameplay" That's the guy u want to befriend. Knows games, plays games, understands collecting so they understand price fluctuation and what collector's look for.
Dude it sucks, even the flea market guys are glued to ebay. I can't catch a deal. Lol. Honestly I just go to ebay, put in my best bid on things and see what happens, trust me I'm not trying to over pay for anything by going to ebay. But the sellers around me sale on eBay themselves and use the damm site for their prices always going to the higher end of prices too. Collecting is getting harder and harder with its popularity. Ether way I enjoy all your videos, keep them coming.
watching now bro and I can tell you the prices are WAY off.....go check ebay bro....I have been collecting PS1 since 1995 and it amazes me how crazy the prices have gotten....
This video was made 2 years ago prices have gone up. Amazon isn't a good place to pick up retro games they're a bit expensive, ATM used copies are about $50 on there you can normally pick up for around the 30-40 range if you shop around places like eBay.
I remember in the late 90's going into a gamestop and the guy at the counter had Brigadine. he said it just came in as a trade in. he asked me if I wanted it and he told me I should buy it cause it was a rare game. the price was under $20. But I passed....what a stupid decision.
if we could all go back in time and do at least one thing over. My biggest gaming blunder was probably passing on a World Championship Gold Cart that a collector brought in my store and asked $2,500 for. I didn't really have enough to invest my whole stores gaming allowance for one game
it probably has more to do with the fact its worth over $20 grand. I'd regret passing the opportunity to make potentially tens of thousands of dollars in a future sale too.
0blivi0n100 exactly. I could almost buy a car for what I would've invested into that for $2,500. It's not like I wanted to play little segments of Mario 3, Excitebike and other games that were only worth $3-$15 a piece at a time for full versions of those games at the time. While I collect "rare" and collectable games, I like to play good games as well. Game collecting is one of the few hobbies that has a real investment side of things as well. Almost like a 401k but a lot more fun.
TheBrainScratcher and that game was "rare" back then and I knew what it was. There only like 26 of the gold championship carts ever made. I don't care what your views on "rare" games are. If there are only 26 of one thing in the entire world and it's almost 30 years old, that's rare.
Hmm... you don't have any of the two Darkstalkers games, do you? I actually consider those rare. Those are really good Capcom fighting games, although they suffer from really long loading times on the PS1.
I love the dark stalkers series ms. baby Bonnie hood. I have the dark stalkers collection for PSP. I always tried to find the games but the few copies i found in the wild were always more than they should be. I would've picked them up if they were in the $15-$25 range when I found them but they were always in the $40-$60 which was easy more than I wanted to spend on them at time. anyway thanks for watching and commenting
whoo i m jealous, but you live in a better country than me in term of prices and rpg s i did have or still have most of the good rpg you present but most are not in the mint condition you have , most of mine actually don t have a box, but to play it it s fine, i still regret i got rid of dragon warrior 7, and clock tower2 ; also i Watch that you own lunar serie and those rpg are great, but i sometime get mad and destroy games or sell it or am i mad to play rpg? i m no collector really, i take more pleasure in playing those games
I dont know why i find it cute when people share their games and talk about them? Really interesting to see though, as a ps1 lover myself. i wonder if any I have are considered rare, guess thats why Im watching these haha.
I've played and beaten almost all the games I own. Some of them I haven't played for years so sometimes I get games mixed up with others and sometimes I remember a game totally different. I keep my save files and try to beat my games multiple times but it's tough remembering all the details of 2,500+ games. You're right tho... I should be a little more prepared
