Its like the cherry on top. Maybe you can style it with something else, set it in a shallow basket. You’ll do something fabulous, im sure.

Good morning Elizabeth, sewing is much easier than re-decorating. Pillow cases are just straight seams. You don’t even have to do the back fold to hold the pillow in place. Just attach store bought ribbon for bows to enclose. Even though sewing is easy - I do think you may have your hands full in the next few months with an extra member in the family but you are a bit of a Wonder Woman, so maybe you will find the energy to get started. My advise would be to take one lesson with an experienced, lazy, home-sewer. You are not entering the Great British Sewing Bee, you just want presentable home decor without too much fuss until you have learned a few advanced techniques. Happy days and take care of yourself. 🦘🇦🇺

It would be so beautiful to do one of those vintage feather Christmas trees in there, any size, on the mantle, table or a large one on the floor. I have a massive kitchen, all wood cabinets and I painted the walls very pale yellow, white trim several years back, you have me re-thinking the color. Many years ago I found a piece of fabric at an estate sale. I didn’t know what I had but it’s bark cloth. It’s dark green with Amish farm scene. I made 2 large pillow covers out of it. They are beautiful. I’m glad you’re looking for vintage fabrics. I, too remember when and where I got my items. It brings me joy. I have seen several of the fabrics with geese, loon and pheasants on them. They add a nice touch to a room.

I love fabric as well. I am drawn to curtains especially those that have a colonial or English cottage feel. It makes a room feel homey. Fabrics can do amazing things.

First time watching you and enjoyed very much! Thank you. I grew up and lived in New England for many yrs. I miss it incredibly, always will. I grew up in Lexington Massachusetts where the Revolutionary War started a 15 minute walk from my home. Went to h.s. in Concord, only 1 town between Lex. & Concord. My fave author L.M. Alcott lived there along w/ so many great authors. Lived in Ct. also. Unfortunately ended up here in yucky S.E Michigan. Highly polluted, high cancer rates, high allergy rates and the MOST ROTTEN ROADS. Have been to Maciknaw Island beautiful and old fashioned like you said ( actually there when they finally hauled out the car that blew off the bridge 6 wks. before one Labor Dat😑😑). A few other central and northern parts of Mi. which are OBVIOUSLY the prettier ones. Some nice vintage fabric items to sew would be table runners(diningrm.) Quilts over chairs ( lap size, smaller orbaby😊). Learning to quilt would take some time especially w/ a baby coming; but a lap size with one solid typical backing and a piece like you showed instead of patchwork or other patterns could come later. Hopefully if baby naps!! I used to love to quilt and decorated alot w/ them. I machined stiches the 3 pieces together and you cannot tell the difference. Many patterns for machine stitching; but Stitch in The Ditch is simple an nice, esp. for beginners. Your home is beautiful, as you are and blessings and prayers for a safe healthy delivery. You first? Don't know what's going on w/ U-tube??? Have heard other good channels say the same. Thanks again😊

Oooh...Awesome haul! I particularly loved that conch shell. Perfection. The blue flow bread bin is also an outstanding find. Functional beauty. I admire so many of your finds on this, and other hauls, you've shared. Where I live we just seem to have very boring thrift stores and they're so expensive.

I really like your mixture of colors and textures. And I appreciate the fact that you feel free to enjoy and display character, patina and flaws. It seems that so many RU-vidrs are afraid to explore the character of aged items. I hate that so often they paint everything White or light gray.

That bread box is a vintage Victoria Ware ironstone box in the Blue Calico pattern. I have some plates in that pattern circa late 1800s. Not sure if your box is original or reproduced. Still very beautiful, great find

The moment you held up the fabric, I said, Ooo, those are her colors! In my home everything that is displayed or hung has a memory or a story. Like the old Simon and Garfunkel song that played over old people talking about their lives that I heard when I was sixteen and it stayed with me all these years, “Preserve your memories. It’s all that’s left you.” I was very intentional in building memories for my family, my students, my friends and what tokens I have kept keep alive those memories.

I’m not sure if anyone else commented about the English bread bin, but the pattern I believe is called Calico and “Liberty” is a very high end very old department store in London. They often join with other companies for limited offerings. The company that makes calico ware would most likely be Burleigh (sp?). If you get a chance look up Liberty London- the building I believe is the oldest, longest running department store. Very English Tudor looking!

I love all the aging, cracks, chips, chippy paint, patina.. all the beautiful imperfections that show the age of a piece. It gives it character & sort of tells part of the story of the piece! I love all transfer ware. I'd love to collect some plates and/or saucers in every color & do a plate wall. I saw someone thrifting in a video last night & she found a piece that was a mustard brownish yellow color.. it was gorgeous!! I've never seen a piece that color! The purple & green are my favorite color pieces, love the brown too. Love it all!😁 Ducks/geese are becoming pretty popular. I love the old wooden ones, the ones with the worn paint & edges. That one looks really nice, has that vintage look. I always use google lens on all my pieces, to find the age & value and that helps start a search if i want to know more about it. I loved the make over on the dining room, it turned out gorgeous! But the video itself was a fun one! The conch shell is huge, never seen one that big! Looks perfect on the Mantle with the ship & other pieces.The box is a really cool piece. Ohh i love that fabric.. its gorgeous❤ The frame is really pretty & looks like wood, you'd never know the difference. My favorite art to collect is the regency/victorian era or old photos.. that's actually a cute photo in the frame😊 Oohh wow that bread box is gorgeous! It looks really pretty where you placed it! Regardless of how its styled, its going to be beautiful💙 I always think the same way.. when i have a piece and I'm watching a video and they've thrifted or already have the same piece, i just think its cool. Its like you share the same likes or passion about something so old. Hi! The bread box looks like calico pattern. There is a brown version too. The Liberty mark could be for the color. I am a blue and white fiend also! I would use it to hide mail so you could use the lid too. Churchill makes calico to this day I think. Looks great where you put it. I grew up in a home very much like yours. Congratulations on the new baby! How is home school going?

There's something about sea shells. My mom has some conch shells from Florida, that are over 50 Yrs old. My grandma made a male and female goose; the same as yours. I love them, and are displayed in my living room. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.
