I am just starting to collect Morgans, (i have 4 so far) and I love the design. Thanks for sharing the info on the identity of the lady on the front of the coin. Interesting stuff. See ya in the next one.
Hi J & B...I may not be available in streams for a couple of weeks as my viewing source went into the shop for repair...great video...i just won a 1884 Morgan from Klesh Guitars...i can't wait to receive it...i am SO stoked...
My favorite also, it was most used in the west, I prefer CC Morgan's but uh, those can be pricey. I have bought many coins and ingots from Apmex, they are a good company and shipments are fast and free if you buy over 100. worth. Good video, my favorite coin.
Do you like the West Point Morgans? Not sure, but I believe they are just about as rare...the CC minted coins were created directly due to the heavy silver mining in Nevada at that time...I thought it was the Comstock Lode that drove the CC MInt being built...
Love the Morgan Dollars beautiful coins one of my favorite coins to collect I'm also familiar with the history design of the Morgan Dollar awesome video 👍
New sub here. Thank you for the information on your Morgan. I've been watching tons of coin videos trying to learn esp. about Morgans as I've just found ALOT of them while metal detecting. I've done the ping test and they all ck out there & am waiting for my coin scale & magnet to come in the mail. If the coins which are beauitful and are all in really great condition if I sell some of them could change my life. (I'd hate to see them go or at least some of them) I hope to be able to buy a car and a house if that could be possible and say goodbye to Hud forever!! then just chill & keep metal detecting. Just yesterday I found 9 more altogether in plastic like yours were in a bag. Why burry them by a tree like that I don't know. Those 9 Morgan's have Mint S on them (SanFranisco). I have a number of Mint CC's. and Phillys. I have 4 Mint condition CC's from 1878 and have 1889's and alot of dates. I often wonder what did each coin 'buy' for someone. Did they buy food, clothes, shoes, homes, pay rent, go on holidays... what? I also have two from 1792 or 1795, don't remember, your eyes go bonkers after awhile trying to remember dates and all ! Also some little gold English dime size Queen Victoria on the front and a rider on a horse slaying a dragon on the back coins it just goes on & on. The other metal box had a wooden box inside if with beautiful silverware and jewelry. In over 30 yrs of metal detecting this has been the greatest year yet. 😁
Ur Victorian gold will be a sovereign or a half sovereign the sovereign is 7.98g 22k gold .the half sovereign is half that of course hope that helps sovereign value of gold is about in pounds £360 at the moment
I'm a stacker I ran in to (3) Morgan's $1 coins for $15 for all At the flea market today Two of Them are stamped CC dated 1889 The other 1896 is not marked
The strike on the 21 Morgan's isn't as good as the original, by the time they re-ran them in 1921 the original dies had been destroyed and the new ones didn't produce the same quality strike.
Yes, get it OUT of that vinyl...put it in a 2x2 plain flip and use scotch tape to secure the sides...I DO NOT USE staples on ANY of my flips...grading companies don't like them either...they can RUST and that rust can penetrate to the coin...
Yes I have a 1896 what is it a Morgan's it's a dollar silver dollar I'm sorry it looks like it was double stamped on the back I know on the front I'm sorry I don't know how to take a picture and send it to you though
