I was born in '53. Hard to comprehend that the life of a veteran of the Civil War and mine overlapped. Thanks for the video, B Dogg. Amazing stuff.

It’s wild to think how far things have come. It’s hard to say if we have progressed or regressed at this point.

@@BirdDogg So true. I'm sorta like the old man who, on being interviewed on the occasion of his 100th birthday party, was asked, "I bet you've seen a lot of changes in your 100 years, haven't you?" "Yeah, and I was agin ever' one of 'em."LOL

I thought I’ve heard just about every Civil War veteran interview out there, but this is the first time I’ve heard this. Great job. It seems that more have turned up over the last several years.

I'm doing the only digging I can do from home! Trying desperately to pull off my first house build at near 50 so just been working every day to try and make it a reality. Fingers crossed I can get back to real digging one of these days

Reminded me of my great grandma Lee, she passed when she was 99, the history she witnessed, I recall her telling me that she could remember when there was no cars! I cannot conceive of that in my mind

Some don’t want to hear the truth but only the truth will set you free !!!!!! And the truth is slavery is still being used across the Atlantic on the continents from where it actually originated and come from !!!! That’s what’s sad but yet they want to point fingers !!!! Really it’s like Elon Musk told old Don Lemon we were all slaves at one time or the other it was just when !!!! How far do you want to go back !!!!

His life and mine over lapped a bit, that is hard to believe. A few questionable Confederates also over lapped. I knew a daughter of one of John Moseby's Rangers, She told me all sorts of stories of them before and during and after the War.

I always understood the last veteran was a Confederate and died in 1959
@BirdDogg
@BirdDogg 3 месяца назад
There’s always been a lot of dispute surrounding who was the last, if they served, in what context they served etc. as far as what the “official” record shows, Woolson was the last surviving veteran.

@@BirdDogg maybe he was just the last Yankee. In our modern world, some people don't count.
