One of the best historical videos on General Robert E. Lee. He was a renowned gentleman soldier. A brilliant military tactician. A great American patriot, as he personally strived to help unite and heal the Country after the Civil War. It was an abomination that the U.S. Federal Government illegally confiscated and occupied his private home and property and turned it into a cemetery!!! Equally disgusting are the crimes committed by the Communist/Socialist woke ideologues against General Lee's statues and other historical Southern monuments. Factual history will never be erased.

Not breaking anything to me. I’ve lived in Unaka Springs 20 years, know Jim, Richard, Jane etc. literally had a key when this was filmed. I used to take care of both those properties until Jim quit paying me like he said he would. Both places about need to be torn down at this point. Liability to Ryan’s property more than anything. Jim clearly isn’t going to clean it up.

I will never understand the destruction of history. It may be possible for a short while to bury history but time will inevitably bring it back to light. History is just that history, it is to be learned from and carried into the future as a building block for subsequent generations. Every day lost history is being uncovered to the betterment of mankind. My family found out through genealogy research that our history includes the Kansas-Missouri border war. My third great grandfather Benjamin Simpson was executed by Jayhawkers on January 1, 1862 near Dayton, Missouri. "Messrs. Grosshart, Simpson and Harry Fulkerson were less fortunate. They were taken prisoner, marched a mile and a quarter north of Dayton to a point a little Northwest of Major Ferrell's residence and they were shot and killed." "Union Colonel Charles R. Jennison ordered his Seventh Kansas Cavalry (known as "Jennison's Jayhawkers") to raid the town, resulting in the destruction of most of its buildings." My point being yes that was my direct ancestor but it is history. I have no thoughts one way or the other. I only want to learn more about Benjamin and is wife Millie who it turned out was a remarkable woman. If you destroy history these small stories disappear forever. I suspect this family history was lost to the family because of the hard feelings directly after the war.
Thank you- I taught history for 40 years-the textbooks were and are woefully woke ! I'm so frustrated about people referring to Lee as a traitor. what they fail to realize and don't know that before the war between the states, the country was called the United States in America and only after did it change to United States of America. Ones loyalty before the war was to one's state and Lee swore refused to take up arms against Virginia. This video breaks my heart, I knew about the destruction of the statue but did not know they had destroyed the chapel and Travelers grave. I left Traveler a carrot last time i was there-so sad-so un-American.

A college president and a War-hero from the Mexican-American War to the War Against Northern Aggression, the greatest American General..... Robert Edward Lee. As a Virginian whose ancestors fought under General Lee, he was my boyhood hero, and he remains so to this day. This was an excellent video. Thanks for airing it.
