Not True, these heater are designed to work with nafta/White gaz, nothing else. It is clear on the instructions. Using other fuels will ruin the wick and your heater will produce little heat after

The black smoke is because you are using kerosene, instead of white gas/naptha. These heaters are designed to use specifically Coleman brand white-gas, or Naptha as a substitute. Kerosene will not burn cleanly and will eventually gum up your wicking system, and will not catalyze properly in the burn chamber, and will eventually damage your heater and stop it from working. If you were to use the proper fuel, there would not be the black smoke, although it does still need to be lit outside because of the initial flame-up on lighting.

Dude …it’s A stove that only runs off of white gas .no pump gas .no kerosene. no diesel .no alcohol. just white gas!! if you do that ,you won’t have any problems with your black smoke🤓👍

Hate to tell you, man, you’re not supposed to use kerosine only Coleman camp fuel, as well don’t flip the lid down until after the fire settles down. Otherwise you will stain it
