Rare Zebra Seabream and big Gilthead - Spearfishing Malta

I take a Friday off and have all day to enjoy the sea. I start with a Zebra Seabream which is pretty rare in Maltese waters. The next catches are relatively small fish until the final dive. A beautiful 1.6kg Gilthead Seabream. It's my final dive as after this catch I am fulfilled for the day and pack up!

Nice catches! I've noticed myself Gilthead are not the smartest fish - don't usually run as far or as quick as they should when they see the danger :)

may i ask what type of gear do you use? curious as some of the shots seem deceptively powerful, even at long ranges (rubber thickness and gun length)

Of course I can tell you! It's an invert roller sold by Salpasub in Marsaskala Malta, it's a 95mm gun, with 3 double elastic, 14mm diameter and 125mm 7mm diameter shaft. And I would say they are not deceptively powerful, they actually are 😉
