Totally agree with you about Barcus Wroot, and the conclusion to his story in Act 3 has got to be one of the most satisfying outcomes in the game. Also I had no idea that the ledge continued around to the noblestalk . That certainly simplifies things.
Don't even need disguise. Bring party to jail area, cast mage hand, have it slap the "ox", let the ox kill the hand, bring caster to speak to ox, and trade.
Ironically, while the Mourning Frost is presented as a spellcasting staff, it's true strength happens to lie in being used as a bludgeoning weapon for your Barbarian or Fighter, to an extent. It doesn't have a +1 enchantment, but you will always deal an additional 1d4+1 damage with any attack, and can cast Ray of Frost in case you don't have any other options. It's an additional die too so it can benefit from reroll abilities like savage attacker
Thanks for staying in Act 1 and not giving any spoilers! One of my friends and I are playing through the game for the first time with a couple of others that have played through multiple times, and I think there's stuff in here even they don't know! We're still in Act 1, so a lot of this is just useful general info that doesn't spoil anything or make me feel like I ruined our playthrough! Gonna get my boy that crazy early game staff >:)
I was wondering why Ethel's dialogue was different when I talked to her corpse the last time I did that part. Must have been the first time I looted her before talking to her.
@@superbad8008now I wonder if you can place that charm in certain bodies to get a more lively dialogue with them as well. Probably not, but it would be cool if a few special NPCs had it.
I never even knew about the ledge around the bibberbang, I've just been misty stepping around or sending in a bird lol. That's going to be so much easier.
An incredibly important one that I feel should have been on here. In the Grove many likely noticed the Idol of Silvanus which provides a small buff of giving proficiency with both Nature and Animal Handling checks while near it. Well once you're all done with the Grove business (or before you're that talented), you can steal the Idol of Silvanus and make a run for it. As long as you have it on your person, you'll always have that Nature + Animal Handling proficiency. As long as your allies are close to you, they'll all have it as well. The worst part about it is that your message log will be filled with constant messages of creatures gaining and losing the proficiency as you run around, but you win some, you lose some. I'd assume the same still holds true if you assault the grove with Minthara, but I haven't gotten around to doing a run like that yet so I can neither confirm nor deny.
I am in act 3, I have never EVER had a situation where I was like "Damn wish I had prof in nature/animal handling" That idol sounds like it would be good in the the table top, but not really worth the effort imo for the game itself.
@@TheWoWisok It's not all hard to do though and it's still two different proficiencies for free. Considering it's also something you don't need to equip, just carry around, it's incredibly stupid to not grab it once you know just because it's not common. Could be invaluable as well if you wanted to make a build that had proficiencies in just about everything possible as it can (think College of Lore Bard) just for flavor.
You can get the quest to steal the idol for Mol. If you do that she gives you a ring that gives you +1 AC and +1 on saving throws. MUCH better than the idol i think.
There should be a secret npc that occurs if you play a dragonborn monk - a warforged that looks like a dragon born that is also a monk and it challenges you to a 1v1 duel. Should be the only warforged in the game. Maybe someone can mod it in eventually haha
With the strange ox, just have your party hide a distance away and have your mage hand punch the ox. Dismiss the mage hand once you do a bit of damage. Unhide and go back to the ox and you get the option to give it money so it isn't angry at you. This opens a trade window and you can buy the ring.
5:33 does the PC version not have an option to select 'All Eye Colours' (and 'All Skin Colours') in the character creation? The PS5 version has it and gives the player 145 different eye colour choices and 350 skin tones. If one of my characters get the Hag Eye, I tend to mirror in a black sclera to make it stand out a bit more.
No you can definitely select all eye color. Basically in any game that is cross platform, if you can do it on console, you can do it on PC. If there's ever going to be options available for one and not the other, it would be available for PC, it's got far more capability.
You can select all eye colors on PC. But only from the pallette the game allows. No way to get two eyes like this without a mod. You can only do one eye.
All these video don't talk about the funy interaction we can have with Volo if he is in the camp in the tiefling party, this is why I wait to get the eye after the party!!!
5:33 also, if you want glowing eye but without black sclera you should do the same but choose some of "elven" eye color, like "elf golden" or "elf silver" it should work just fine, i did it on accident when naking my first durge, its awesome❤
4:37... hell... I've always ran between the Bimblebang before they can explode to take the torch on the ground, then ran back and destroyed the shrooms 1 by 1 to clear the path to the Noblestock. I didn't know you could move on the ledge around all of these...
For the number 1 trick. I had Astarian send his mage hand into the area while he remained at the waypoint, and the team at camp. The mage hand slapped the strange ox, the ox killed the mage hand. Astarian got to 'trade' for the ring.
Barcus is a precious bean and i will protect him with my life. How do you recruit him in Act I? He usually just wishes me well and shoves off. I’ll have to try different dialogue options.
Yeah it's kind of rare since you have to save him a 2nd time in the gym forge and most people handle the goblins before making it that far in act 1 since the main way to get to the under dark is by going through the temple underneath the goblin camp. I knew you could recruit him to your camp, I just had no idea you could get him for the party since I've always cleared the goblin camp first in every run other than my Durge... I ended up yeeting him on the windmill that run lol
Good thing I’ve not got past Ketheric thorn boss fight I still have time unfortunately I’ve saved the grove so I can’t do some things but there’s always a new play through after this one as I’ve probably missed more stuff 😂🤣😂
Oh. My. Glob. You're amazing!!! When I picked up the Icy Helve it definitely seemed like a THING, but Google turned up absolutely nothing! So I just sold it to clear inventory 😂 fortunately, that wasn't too long ago so Arron should still have it for me to buy back. Thank you!!
When you do the grymforge quest and save the gnomes, you can invite him to your camp. I assume that because you dont actually need to save the grove before doing grymforge, you just get him in your camp, THEN save the tieflings and do the party. Because you can have him in your camp before doing that, they gave him his own little interaction
Wait.. so if i go to the underdark and do the grymforge stuff and everything before defeating the goblins.. i can still free the grove? Its not locked off by kagha? Or do i have to rescue halsin first but just not kill the goblin leaders? I always thought if i leave for the underdark (or creche) everything is lost with the running quests...
You can stop Kagha by going to the beach, fighting the Mephit and the Tree's, and where the Tree's are standing, there's a hidden hole that your characters can find with a letter, read it, get back to grove, and voila. Peacefull, no one gets hurts other than bad guys.
EDIT: Wait... how did you get that dialogue with Barcus?!?! That's so cool!! Gods, this game. over 1100 hours and I STILL haven't seen everything. Oh wow, that ox trick is awesome. I wonder if it works for the awesome fire hat in Act 2 as well!
For the ox you can literally make your life easier by clearing the goblin camp and after the party/celebration you can go to where the ox is and kill them for the ring without people around. Safe and extremely easy
