Chuuya turned around and did that because dazai said he had to talk like a little girl before he left, so dazai wouldn't tell the mafia that chuuya broke his chains

The absolute utter confusion as to Chuuya's response to Dazai 😂 I was laughing so hard. And yes, Akutagawa does want Dazai to notice him. He is a jealous boy. I cannot wait for the next few reactions to finish up season 1!

In actuality, Dazai & Akutagawa have an extremely toxic relationship of an abuser and victim. Akutagawa was the obvious victim, and he made himself believe there was reasoning to his abuse/ “training” . It may seem really funny that his obsession with Dazai is like this, but it’s honestly really sad,he made himself believe he needed Dazai’s acknowledgment to actually believe he was worth something. Dazai is the reason Akutagawa turned out like this, and as a result why he behaves so horribly with Kyouka, a classic Abused turned Abuser. He honestly thinks it was for her own good because that’s what he was taught in the Mafia.

Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, probably one of the best if not the best Japanese Short story writer. One of the literary award is named after him (Akutagawa Award). Akutagawa's short stories influenced many fields. The famous Writer diagnosed with Plurisy highly inspired the famous author Osamu Dazai. In age 35, Akutagawa committed suicide.

Season 1 is like a fraction of Dazai's intelligence. Later on is where Dazai will start to flex his brain cells. Even Ranpo and both bosses of the opposing sides acknowledges him.

The thing with Chuuya leaving the room like that was because of what Dazai had just said - "When you leave this room, you'll be acting like a girl". If Chuuya wanted Dazai to hold up his end of the bargain, he had to go through with it. That's what Chuuya 'forgot' as he was leaving.

I will say I love how Atsushi was able to get the hang of his powers and it's much cooler as no one actually taught him any basics or any triggers to help him he just learnt as he went.

Fun fact about Rashoumon: The story, Rashoumon, recounts the encounter between a servant and an old woman in the dilapidated Rashōmon, the southern gate of the then-ruined city of Kyoto, where unclaimed corpses were sometimes dumped. There are some scenes that mirror Atsushi's dilemma in the first episode (the Holmes's servant ponders whether he should starve to death or become a thief.) not only that but the ability and the invitation to join the port mafia is mostly a reference to Rashoumon: the homeless servant stole the coat from the old woman by ripping it off her. To official join the mafia a subordinate gets to wear one piece of clothing from an executive (Akutagawa's coat > Dazai's) Irl Akutagawa Ryuunosuke's name is one of many he has but it's mostly his birth name. He was born on the year, date and time of the dragon which sparked his first name (Ryuunosuke = son of dragon) His art name is Chōkōdo Shujin. Another fun fact is that Akutagawa had a lung disease which is why in the show he coughs a lot

I honestly really loved this fight because it was the first time we saw Akutagawa in a way that wasn’t in control of a situation and not calm and he only gets this way when he is fighting Atsushi I love it

That single punch to Akutagawa's face is what got me into this series to begin with. XD

Damn I really don't remember that much of Bungo Stray Dogs, I forgot that Francis gets introduced this season cuz here I am thinking that I can't wait to get to Season 2 to get to him and his group, and then buddy comes on the screen.

If you think about it, atsushis power is actually op. It's multiple abilities in one. Super strength, speed, regeneration, heightened sight, hearing etc, transformation etc. People keep sleeping on his ability since it's not the most flashy ability but it's actually really powerful if he masters it. Not to mention it was mentioned in the manga that atsushi is no where close to what he is capable of since he hasn't accepted the beat within and fully merged with it meaning even that tiger form isn't his full power. He hast to full merge with that tiger to reach his full potential.
