Raspberry Pi GPIO Clock on LCD Display 

This is my first attempt at writing something for the Raspberry PI, Its written in PHP, The reason why I chose PHP as this project is a stepping stone onto another I'm working on.
I make no claims that the PHP is written using best practices, but it is working.
The LCD display has an HD44780 processor on board and can be driven in 8bit or 4bit mode. Becuase I need to keep some gpio's free for the next project I have decided to use a shift register and send the data via just three gpio's from the Pi.
