The family of a student denied admission at the Achimota School because of his dreadlocks has sued the institution at a high court citing discrimination.
In the suit sighted by Citi News, the student, Tyrone Iras Marhguy, maintains that his rights are being violated by the school’s actions.

I think they should find another school because even if achimota admits them they won’t be able to learn in that kind of environment

This case goes beyond the boys..it should start a precedent. If our president can travel to the Americas and call people to come back home, we need to prepare ourselves for handling such diversity situations. That's why the supreme court should be involved.

All this is not necessary. Achimota is not the only School. There are equally good students who were also admitted. I don't understand why rules which everyone has gone through would suddenly be changed.

Those saying they should look for another school,you're not serious one bit.In the first place why should they run away and look for another school whilst that's the school they got??Should they allow they're rights to be infringed upon and back down??As for Ghanainas all you know how to do is to back down and not fight for your rights and what you believe in ...when you're not progressing then you'll be complaini g continue to let people step on you tswwww

Is that so complicated? So to even say it is a African tradition is wrong. You people love to point fingers, but check the facts right. Modern day Christianity have almost nothing to do with the Bible beside that Jesus died and raised from the dead. In the Bible I did not find any place preventing to have you hair done like rasta. Which one of them is Jamaican??? The father is Jamaican and the mother is Ghanaian the son was born in Ghana what's your point... What is with this stereotype with people with dreadlocks? I honestly don’t understand.You don’t give him a chance to prove himself academically and judge him based on his hairstyle??? Then we talk of racism ,when discrimination among ourselves is very much present in different sectors in our country.
