Hello, John! I'm also modify just about any RC car stuffs when I get my hand on, you did a great job of getting the function part in proportional work able, good job!
i remember seeing this car the the shelf at radio shack 17 years ago when i was 7 and ever since ive been trying to get my hand on one ...the cost of one of these was around $96-$103 in 2004 )..now its 2021 i bought one on amazon for $46.43...best day of my life, and purchase
@@wolfhauzer3178 i have the body to an xmods r34 gtr, hummer, and a full assembled 350z and a bunch of other pieces. I didn't know it was that rare to find pieces to the cars until i looked up the prices for the remotes to the cars.
I love import tuner recommendation to pray the Catholic crucifex and those front end towing import tuner x two undercarriage mounts discovered by a glance in orange county
I had a Tamiya Quick Drive 1/12 scale radio control car back in the 1990's, it was an awesome model. Sadly I sold it to a friend at that time too. I've wanted the 1/10 radio control model but I wasn't lucky to find it. Radio control cars have turned into amazing models, even the most simple are equiped with lights and sound. Those Tamiya 1/12 and 1/10 radio control models were too simple. I still have four street supercars 1/10 scale from Kyosho, 1/10 oversized scale, they are like 1/8, very big cars.
Ah man.. I never like doing things over twice but for what the car is, it's best to get it done right. Once it's done like you said, that money is back in your pocket and besides since you have other whips that you beat up on, you should have more than 3 really good ones, so I would do it and get it done right.
i ve done the same but i didn't also replace the motor but i have to find out how to do it since the motor in the car is slow as you can see in your car too
I know to take care of the rc toys keep them clean I wish they had clunker like blinking led lights and metal gears metal rims and service ready metal with screw easy housing to hold the metal gears with five mini screws that hold in each metal rim so I can remove the wheel and place on the rim by self a new clean toy tire with other easy comprehensive features
That's got to be one of the nicest scale model F40s I've ever seen. Shame it's plastic rather than diecast. The body lines and overall shape look as good as the $600 Kyosho 1/12 model to me. The paintwork looks stunning under your lighting too. Does it look good in person, or can you tell it's plastic at a glance? Tempted to grab one as a display model at the price they're asking.
My advice... Go get one. This thing is cheap. it is most definitely not diecast but you can do so much more detailing work to make it stand out. also the 1/14 scale is huge and the fact that it is RC is AWESOME.
Hi, I was wondering what controller/receiver you used, and how many channels it has. I recently bought a used car without the original controller and I'm planning to do the same conversion. Thanks for any info you can send my way!
The radio and receiver that I'm using is the flysky i6s which is a 10 channel remote. You probably only need 4 channels or less for a project like this. Also you might wanna consider a pistol grip remote if you prefer.
Nice post. You should definitely post how to put the full kit together including the light servo, the LEDs. Please also list what ESC you are using and what battery voltage it use.
Thanks for the feedback bro. it's already a very long video and it might bore some ppl. I'm more than happy to answer any questions you have though. Over time i have managed to do 3 or 4 other Rastar projects which I plan to make a video on as well.
Hi @John Ong. Very nice work. My sons are playing around with modifying some RC cars. Any chance you can send or post the part list and more importantly the circuit design you used in this conversion. That would be very helpful and useful to many. Much thanks.
Hi John, I've made a hobby of upgrading Rastar cars. I've done a 911 GT3 Cup and a Mercedes SLR. I have the F40 up next. Can you share some insight on the popup headlight mechanics?
Hey nice to see others into this hobby as well. For me I'm just basically using the same small servo for the pop up light mechanism as well. It very tricky to do but nothing fancy. Just lots of hot glue. 😅
Did you ever make video on how you did the pop lights servo? I'm doing my own f40 now and would love some short clips just showing how you have yours setup. Great work by the way
@@drxxavier 9g servo I'm guessing? Did you use the factory spring loaded trigger/release attached to the headlight? Or is your servo attached some other way? I guess I should ask how the servo is actually attached to the head lights. Is it bent metal wire or something else? Thank you for your time also and videos
@@ashleys7416 yes cheap 9g servo attached to a bend metal bar. I have removed the original spring loaded mechanism. Servo is just hot glued to the bottom of the bonnet where there is space
So the taiyo f40 the black ok but is not originally rebuilt then synonymous make a video but then on the weekend If it's not raining 100 meters grade and back then The time taken ok is clear
if you just wanna look at it that way then yes. else it's about adding also sound and lights and functional pop up headlights.. a lot of ppl ask me why i don't change the drive motor.. i've felt the need to. these cars drive realistically at low speeds and i never bash them in fear of scratching their beautiful bodies.
