2:10:05 The exact moment Penny forgot she was playing on easy mode. Also despite this game technically tying in to the main story it feels like more of a spinoff than Deadlocked ever did.
1:17:10 yeah I think the whole space pirate ghosts motif is a deliberate call back to R&C 3. I just checked your first up your arsenal vod and at around 1 hour and 46 minutes the vidcomic mentions a pirate captain called Blackstar who has a crew of space pirate ghosts. Don't know if it's the same pirate but Insomniac retconned his name or if it's another space pirate captain who has a crew of space pirate ghosts. Interesting stuff!
No no, Blackstar wasn’t retconned at all! Heck, he plays a small part in Tools of Destruction (he made your first armor upgrade and has a small memorial shown in the Pirate Tour). Darkwater was a different pirate that happened to make ghost pirates, because he was dead. Fun Fact: The Galactic Rangers Chief may have been the one who “inspired” that Vid-Comic, because in the Assassination mission, he mentions that he fought some ghost robot pirates with a half-charged Crotchitizer (and some other weapon) back in ‘23.
@@larrymantic2635okay so two unrelated who have similar names pirates, that's cool. I haven't played tools so I wasn't aware that Blackstar is in it. Although it begs the (silly) question, how many space pirates have the name ___star, that are just related to the colour black? Is it some kind of children of Thanos situation where there's an Ebonystar, Obsidianstar, Midnightstar, etc.? Do they have like a book club or something? 😆😆
51:32 - 52:48 I like to imagine Ratchet narrated the journal similarly in-universe, given books don't usually come with voice acting (then again, this IS the Ratchet & Clank series, so who knows) also I appreciate the character development of Penny saying you couldn’t pay her to remember Talwyn’s name at the beginning, to her casually calling Tal by name during the puzzle segment, to her jokingly messing up the name in the climax… beautiful
Watching these vods has made me want to go back and replay the entire series again, especially since I loved Future Tools, and I'm so curious to know if that opinion holds true.
glad you enjoyed this one. i recently tried to replay it and got to the final boss but coudlnt do it. abug happened that made it so he wouldnt respawn after i died. i had alot of bugs in my playthough. so im glad you had a much nicer trip
I can’t believe penny left talwyn in the cave I didn’t even know this game had an alternate ending wtf Also poor talwyn Btw I first played this game on PSnow it was fun short but fun
they got in trouble for this game due to the fact that im a little teapot or w/e is still copyrighted and the game may be short but they reward you for actually searching stuff by getting weapon upgrades
Okay this took a while to dawn on me, but are we sure the "hey there fuzzball" guy isn't being casually mega racist. Imagine if you were manning the counter of some store, a black guy walked in, and you said "hey there, dark-skin."
I think it depends on the cultural context, black people were oppressed for their dark skin so knowing this we understand saying that is what experts would call "kinda screwed up." We don't know all the cultural context in Ratchet and Clank, but I don't think we see any indication that lombaxes or furry races in general are or were stigmatized for their inherent fuzziness, so I think it's probably fine.
I feel like this might be the least good of the entire series. Not the worst, that probably goes to Size Matters but this one is just so short and adds very little to the story.
