What's funny is that, considering Glacius could be a shape-shifter and saw Orchid's melons then shape-shifts into fem-Glacius that has bigger melons than hers.
Both KI1 and OG MK3 hit arcades around the same time and were published by Midway. Plus I think Jago's "car-ma" car may have originally had a Nintendo or Rare license plate on it that had to be removed in the Xbox One rerelease for an obvious reason.
I'd argue it's the opposite. Why? Because just look at the release dates of each arcade game. Killer Instinct. 1994. Mortal Kombat 3. 1995. Killer Instinct was released first. Not to mention, the arcade release of each game was developed by Midway. So the Fatal is likely entirely self-referential.
It literally uses the WordGirl flying sound effect, and it also uses one of the projectile sound effects from the obscure videogame duology of the Star Blaze games. Before both even existed. Nice.
Orchid's fatality is the reason why a lot of kids during my childhood were looking for a secret MK character that reveals her boobs then squirts acid milk to opponents as a fatality.
Man that's some bullshit. When I was a kid some teenager fuck in an arcade told me Mileena had a secret Fatality where she showed her cans and I straight up believed him, but I never figured out how to do it lmao. I didn't realize it had affected the youth of my era in such a widespread manner. I still think about it sometimes when I play MKII. I'm honestly bummed I never got to see her pixelated milk jugs. It's tragic really.
MS wouldn't even let Netherrealm put an Xbox character in MK9. They're not going to suddenly decide they're OK with fatalities being done to MS owned characters.....Sony didn't get an extra character in MK9 because they paid NRS, they got one because Sony said Yes. MS was asked the same question and said NO....
Id say KI vs Tekken is more realistic. MK has no interest sharing the spotlight. Imagine if they let two KI characters on the roster. Then imagine the top two ranked characters in that MK game being from KI. that's why I'm going to say no

I remember the fatalities were under whelming compaired to mk 2 and just looked bad, but man was killer instinct ahead of it's time with the combo system was a hidden gem
I think the fact that this was very much a Nintendo project meant that Rare couldn't really go too crazy with the Finishers. No limbs getting removed or heads cut off, and a lot of them are either goofy or don't actually kill the opponent.

Someone needs to tell him that only N64 KI Gold has Orchid's combo-only Ultimate. Something to do with arcade KI2 and N64 KI Gold being simultaneously developed in a rush. And just like with KI1, the online guides screw up a lot of the motions for the finishers.

Always liked how Killer Instinct's characters had different... I guess you would call them "reactions" to finishers being used on them, particularly the Fulgore laser and the Orchid flash.
Anyone else want Max to rate the supers of games he wouldn’t normally play, just to see him have to play? Me personally I’d like to see a rate the super on arcana heart 3. Mainly because there’s over 70 big special moves (2 level 3s for each character (1 normal and 1 enhanced) and 1 for each arcana in the form of the arcana blazes)

The arcade version of this game fatalities are different from the one on SNES I love it I remember playing this version at the movie theater in the arcade room
Eh, they're mostly just less elaborate with some effects cut or tweaked to make up for limited cart space. The only one that actually significantly changed is Spinal's ←←←MK; instead of summoning a double to drag you under, he summons lightning that turns you to ash. And, ofC, Glacius's →⇘↓⇙←MK is gone :
TJ's neck snap finisher felt so brutal because it was so grounded. It was just a gut punch to stun his opponent, and a really good twist. I can imagine someone being able to do that. I cannot imagine someone actually being able to pull another person's skeleton out of their mouth like Kano.
Makes no sense on Glacius tho. I can't imagine a water alien having bones to break. But he seems to have vitals to stab. Maybe those are more believeable because they'd be softer?
I remember in the arcade someone doing Orchid's Frog finisher and then turning the opponent back into their normal selves but with messed up colors. You need to hold Up on the joystick after turning them into a frog, then you'll be able to move around and beat up the frog/opponent.
5:31 both Fulgore and riptor caught a case of 'malware' after seeing Orchid's hidden assets 😏. However Max you forgot to looked up the most important one after Orchids Fatality and that's a course her encounter with TJ combo.

Orchid's finisher is legendary xD it's good that they didn't remove it from the snes version, some I didn't see because it was rare to see the Arcade version.

The car that is dropped on tj is tj combo's car its always seen on the secret street fight level. And it's seen in tj combos ending and if you knock the opponent off the city roof they smashed though tj combo's car in the secret street level.
