Chairperson's whiteboard super is actually one of the best in the game. It heals you and gives you 4 bars of guts (the most in the game). The super is great but her own attacks are weak because she canonically learned Dan's martial arts from mail order booklets. Her burning vigor attack is also hilarious.
Yeah. That is why I like about Chairperson. Also I like how she looks really tired when she wins a fight. I wish she appears again in a new RS game but using more Saikyo style moves
The game itself practically allowed you to play an RPG style gameplay of the schools. And you could create your own character and mix and match moves. Hasn't been anything like it release from Capcom in over 2 decades.
@@cagnazzo82 With the pretty dang expansive World Tour mode in SF6 right now... imagine a fully-explorable Aoharu City (the city this series takes place in) and an expanded story mode using it for both the main roster *and* custom characters... 8D
Get the emulator or get a Dreamcast and burn the game. If you have an older model the game will work, if not you'll need a loader. There is an option to burn the loader and the game on the same disc.
I now understand why people are big fans of Rival Schools. Imagine these characters reimagined in a modern style with all this personality. Hopefully Akira in SFV is an allusion to a Samurai Showdown type Rival Schools revamp coming up.
if they stay in line with what they did with Akira in SF5 then we should be good. half of the personality is the amazing art style. its just got such a strong look and its missing in SF5.
Rival Schools is from what I've seen, how do you incorporate basic stereotypes into a character and made it work with other basic stereotypes, giving a whole charm on it's own to the cast because the cast looked colorful even with all the anime stereotypes.
It's neat because you're effectively seeing the characters' personalities bounce off each other, except it's expressed through combat rather than dialogue.
Seeing Rival Schools covered in 2021 is so heartwarming and Heartbreaking at the same time! Capcom needs to shelf SF for a bit and bring other fighting IPs back
Max, I would appreciate you working your mojo to get fighting game fans to ask Capcom for a Rival Schools Collection. The BEST collection would include all three games with fully translated school sims and board games that were left out of Western releases, as such modes would be best received now than 20 years ago!
@@ignaciojohnjoy it’s Capcom, they won’t release any new game from an established yet dormant franchise without a collection to (misguidedly) gauge (financial) interest. Even when Mighty No. 9 set Kickstarter records, they didn’t put Mega Man 11 into production until fans bought multiple new Mega Man collections. Besides, the Rival Schools games have never been rereleased on consoles since 2000 (the only digital release was the PS1 port on Japan’s PS3 PSN), so plenty of old fans & new would appreciate it. They should have announced it upon Akira’s reveal last year and released soon after so we could have a year to enjoy it in anticipation of her release (would have made all the references in SFV make sense).
@@SAPProd so basically, what your saying on the first Paragraph is that, if more people buy the season 5 pass for Akira, then than means more chances of getting Rival Schools Collection or Rival Schools 3. Ok i shall spread the word
@@ignaciojohnjoy that’s a possibility. While you’re at it, have everyone by the Darkstalkers costumes DLC for similar purposes, even if they don’t own the game!
@@seymourglass26 honestly Power Stone 2 is one of my favorite video games of all time. I put so many hours into that game as a kid and unlocking all the weapons, i always picked Wang-Tang
Can we take a moment to acknowledge how crisp and clean this was. Dreamcast and Sega Naomi was such a beautiful game system. This was the last time I really felt a shift in home entertainment
I love that Batsu would do team ups for his ultimate in Tatsunoko v Capcom, and it changed based on your partner's fighting style. AND, and if your partner was KO'd Batsu would do it alongside their ghost while weeping MANLY TEARS.
This is the one part I loved about project Justice the most. I really wish it got either re-released or at best a sequel. But until then, we have what we have and I'm glad that we still have it. Great video, Max
I remember going to a local arcade some 10-11 years ago. Had no idea this game was a thing until that random day when I first saw it there. Seeing those full team supers was so cool! I hope Akira's inclusion in SFV has an impact and we can at least get this game as a remaster/remake.
I played both the Shiritsu Justice Gakuen and Project Justice when they dropped on their respective platforms and it warms my heart that they're getting some much-deserved love. Here's hoping Capcom picks up on that and hands the reins over to Itsuno, to direct.
I didn't know anything about Rival Schools or Project Justice until Max's channel, but just like Urban Reign, I would give SO much to see this game get remastered
Well, having never seen this game before, this was way more fun than I expected. ...Also, one of these days, we're gonna get a Rate the Mystic Arte out of you. And it will be glorious.
This video and the Akira legacy made me realise for the first time that in her story mode, when you play the final fight as Powered Akira, her team attack changes to become the same as Daigo's. Those little details are legit amazing.
These special supers are so unique and funny, really hoping Capcom considers making a 3rd Rival Schools at some point because the cast of this game is just so interesting.
One year later... A new post/commentary. Max, I'd like to leave a suggestion. Would you consider making a part.2 "Rate the Super": Project Justice? For the characters' regular supers. Some are cool, others are wacky (in a fun way), others are wacky (in a wierd way)... But the personality and charm are there. I hope you get to read this. Keep up the awesome work. Shine on!
8:19 nice Double-Kinniku Buster. Which reminds me, Max you should go back and rate the Finishers from Galactic Wrestling and check out Kinnikuman Muscle Grand Prix's supers. It's wild man.
5:07 the funny thing is that Max's mind crashes for a few seconds after what mad thing he just witnessed and then when it comes back he's just like "That gets a 10."
