That’s why Rob came to my house to rehome the large fish that I have so I could start from the beginning and raise new fish. I don’t get quite as large the tanks of 400 gallons each a turtle tank is 300 gallons. My fish are taken care of very well water changes every week drip system and maintenance done weekly. I hope you all enjoy my fish as much as I do.
As a turtle owner myself I would get an indoor pond instead of a tank because the turtle will have more room to move around and for the fish, they need a wider tank and it's too crowded in the tanks they need more room.
The turtle has a pond outside, but is inside for cold weather (there is a disclaimer in the short). Also if you watch the full video, the guy who owns them is trying to re-home some of the fish because of this reason.
I'd like to believe that overstocking becomes less of a problem once conditions are optimal. Clearly, he's taking care of his stock and is quite invested in them since he contacted PF. Not to mention, tanks tend to get rather pricey at a certain threshold.
I have been keeping piranhas for eight years now, so I obviously would love to see some in there. I have three large tanks with driftwood and plants in each one. I think that room does look good, but I am not a fan of big tanks that are just full of fish and nothing else. Definitely keeps down the maintenance time on cleaning.
I think its amazing a lot of people are gonna hate on the size of the tanks for such big fish but its still so much better than most of the tanks I see people keep thoose species in. And unlike thoose people you have contacts and a plan with people I know are willing to take in and take care of the fish that get too big. If the fish cant turn with ease thats when you know its time to get a bigger tank.
