Joe sounds awesome as usual, man Tony Franklin was a great surprise for me. Sorry I don't know the guitar player but does a great job and Carmine is Carmine...great.
Wow very impressive! Didn't know about these guys till now. Always been a Huge fan of Joe Lynn Turner and I see Tony Franklin from Blue Murder on bass, never heard of the guitarist.
Awesome-Joe Lynn Turner is 63 and can still bring it. Carmine Appice is 67 and can do the same. That is why these guys are still making music cause they love it and a lot of these newer bands can't sing or play and that's why it sounds like crap.
*Rated X - This Is Who I Am (Official / 2014 / JL Turner - C. Appice - T. Franklin - K. Cochran)* by Frontiers Music srl - You can see here controversial opinions, but I like it
As a life long drummer...could have found a real heavy metal drummer...Carmine is a self promoting better than average drummer. I saw Ozzy in the 80's and when I got there and Carmine was playing and not Tommy Aldrich I got up half way through and left. It was so sad what he played...or didn't play. Love song and JLT...but just never cared for Carmine. But he was great with Rod Stewart...that is where he is at his best.
Nice snare drum pop! Now I get what my dad meant when he said all this rock music sounds the same. Chord rock is dead if you're over 35 today. Sorry guys...this might as well be 1985 all over. Nothing has changed since Mississippi Queen.
Given the caliber of musicians in this Band! I was expecting more to be honest. It's not awful by any means but is just a bit "flat" IMO? Hoping the rest of the album is more dynamic.
It can't be bad with the people involved. No chance! It's definitely impressive all around. As with a lot of my favorite music over the years, it was good when I first heard it, but it became great with additional listens. This is like that.
Here is a super great interview with Joe Lynn Turner - worth a listen! soundcloud.com/thesdrshow/show-30-joe-lynn-turner-singer-of-deep-purple-rainbow-rated-x-more
