In an effort to procrastinate my college work I took a strole down memory lane and reminisced on all 10 of my AP classes in high school.
I started off in freshman year I took AP Human Geography. Then sophomore year I took AP World History. Junior year I took four APs and they were AP US History, AP Language & Composition, AP Physics I, and AP Psychology. Senior year I took four again and they were AP Government, AP Lit, AP Physics II, and AP Calculus AB. Some of them I loved and some of them I hated. Here is a rating of everything I’ve taken!
Thanks for watching!

If you do not have a study guide, make one. Also, the ap classroom videos and practice problems are useful.

Want to share my AP experiences because not all AP classes are the same (based on teachers, resources, teaching styles, etc). Freshman year (2018-2019): AP Human Geography - I personally loved the constant of this class and had a wonderful teacher. Got a 5 on the exam, but it’s because I was passionate and wanted to and was able to devote time to it. Really good as a first AP class however (almost as good as enviro or psych as a first AP class) Sophomore year (2019-2020 aka COVID): AP World History: Same fun situation with AP world, only got a 4 because it was just so much more information, and didn’t like it as much. Really Eurocentric (like most AP classes) however. Basically on Europe, China, and the us for most of the time. AP Calculus AB - Liked the class. I personally like class when I’m good at it. And I had a great teacher even though I just constantly struggled. But it’s pretty simple if you do the homework and the work. You will not do well if you don’t study, but it’s not difficult studying it’s just more work. Salty I got a 3 tho because I couldn’t turn in the second half of my exam bc it was online and didn’t want to retake. AP Physics 1 - I don’t like physics, and can’t connect concepts and math for the life of me. I cried through this class the whole year. I had a great and enthusiastic teacher, I just wasn’t good at it no matter how hard I tried. Didn’t even take the exam that year because I knew I would fail. I took it the next year. And still only got a 2 (you’ll see in a minute). Junior year (2020-2021, aka COVID 2.0): AP US History: This class is really good for people that can just memorize things without deeper thinking (unlike human and world). But I was not good at that and had trouble learning online during COVID. So, I only got a 3. Pretty monotonous, but that’s just my opinion. AP Lang: I’m not a big fan of works nonfiction, and this was more of that. Also I never really learned how to write one of the essay types. Only got a 3. Liked the teacher, just didn’t like the class content. AP Seminar: new class. Harder to teach because of less history. And easy to do, just more work. I couldn’t dedicate time towards my projects so I only got a 3. AP Physics 2: I had to take it for a program I’m in. Same situation at 1. Still got a 2. AP Calculus BC: I took this exam with the Advances calc 2 course. I liked the class and some of the content. But it was hard and I didn’t like doing it. If you are able to do a lot of last minute studying effectively tho, you can get a good score. That’s what I did and I got my 4. AP Environmental - I didn’t take this class. I just had a lot of background knowledge and thought why not. Really easy. I studying from Georgia Virtual Schools free online text book last minute and got a 4. I forgot to look up how to do the frqs too. Lol. Basically common sense if you have some background knowledge and like the content. That’s what I got. I’m planning to take AP French and research next year, so maybe I’ll update. But frankly I’d recommend doing dual/joint enrollment. They’re generally easier, cheaper, and less stressful. And you don’t have to take an exam to get college credit. I just finished macro and American gov over the summer with dual (wish I had been able to do more dual classes before) and in the upcoming year I’m taking bio, psych, English 1102, and statistic with dual.

Thank you! That sounds like a solid schedule. Don't let my rating of AP World scare you too much, it's a tough class, but totally passable, especially with the new changes to it. My sister and some friends took AP Spanish and it's honestly not too bad as long as you actually practice your spanish and do your work. Best of luck to you next year!

@@belledeleon4285 Thank you! History is my favorite subject and the only reason I wanted to do AP is because of the teacher and the class. From your video I think its the teacher and the class what makes the class worth it. And Spanish is actually my first language so I know ill be fine in AP Spanish. Thank you so much

Hi! Thanks for the video. I am planning to take AP Spanish, AP Lang, and AP Chem, but I'm not sure if I should switch AP Lang for APUSH
@belledeleon4285
@belledeleon4285 3 года назад
Ooo all those classes sound like a full course load (especially the chem, praying for you for that one), but honestly I think AP Lang helped me build longer lasting skills that helped me more in college. I'd probably go for Lang over APUSH, but that's just the opinion of a random girl on the internet, so don't look too much into it!

@@belledeleon4285 bro. Would not take AP Chem (or Bio) they are literally some of the hardest classes and require the most work [ie HARD WORK x 2]
@mireya6763
@mireya6763 3 года назад
@George Thomatos I’m not saying don’t take them. I just wouldn’t personally. I am taking bio with dual enrollment in fact. That’s what I would recommend to those who can, because then you have a guaranteed credit as long as you pass the class.

I tried one ap class in sophomore year. It was hgap. I signed up for hgap for freshman year but my schedule was messed up and I couldn’t fix it because I was an online learner for Covid and didn’t notice. I was put in honors world history instead and didn’t notice the error until I came to school in person. So I did it sophomore year instead. I am doing ap English lang in junior year rn. Also doing us history but it isn’t ap it’s dual enrollment. I prefer ap over dual enrollment so in my senior year I’m going all out doing ap calc bc, ap comp sci a, ap gov/macro, maybe ap euro, ap physics 1, an honors engineering class, and ap lit. Idk if I will replace ap physics 1 with apes or ap euro with an honors world area studies course. Those are humanities related idc about them since I’m going into stem.

What do you mean by ab and bc period? does that mean that your calc class was split into one period being ab and the other being bc? why?
@belledeleon4285
@belledeleon4285 3 года назад
Calc AB and Calc BC are two different AP classes. My class (ab) was first period and the bc class was third period, so whenever I would not finish a lesson because of excessive crying during ab I would go into his third period (which was my student aid period) and get the rest of his notes from his book then.

@@belledeleon4285 ah I see now. I took bc and had no where near as bad of a time, I think because it was my only ap class senior year. So I didnt have to worry about anything else. Also maybe your teacher wasnt a good one.
