Well that was both informative and hilarious👍 Can't say i've known anyone, except Elton John maybe, with multiple pairs of spectacles before. You were bang-on about how they all suited you 😊 However, I am most pleased of all that you're so well prepared for the zombie apocalypse 😂

TIJN is a Dutch brand, so I believe the proper way to pronounce it is 'tain', as in ten but more airy. hope this helps! :)

You should do a video providing your experience with becoming a glasses wearer. Like most people wearing glasses for the first time in front of people can be very scary especially if it's people you know. No one makes fun of anyone getting glasses these days anymore. That's because more than 50% of them wear glasses themselves now. Wearing glasses is almost a status symbol type of thing. I'm sure you did juts fine and you're wearing glasses was only news worthy that first day and then it was old news and no one seemed to care or even mention it anymore. I know because I was an optician for many years.

I was an optician as well as the manager of a rather large optical boutique. I'm now retired and enjoying playing golf as often as possible. I love that fact that you have 7 pairs of glasses in your current prescription. You call it a a collection and I prefer to call it your "glasses wardrobe". After all doesn't every woman have a wardrobe of shoes, handbags and jewelry? So why not glasses? Think about glasses are more readily seen than shoes, handbags and even jewelry. Their right there on sitting on you nose in front of your less than perfect eyesight. But what did surprise me was your reason for having so many pairs of glasses. It wasn't about fashion but more of a fear of somehow not having contacts or glasses and being unable to see well enough to function as well as you want to be able to in the event of an emergency. For that reason I can see having an extra pair of glasses along with several weeks supply of contacts. Based on your You Tube vide caps you apparently only wear glasses very rarely and wear contacts most often for some reason. As an optician I would think that by having 7 pairs of glasses you would wear glasses far more often to change your "look" from day to day simply by wearing different glasses. By store was staffed by mostly attractive young ladies which were our frame stylist, optical assistants and opticians. Nearly all of them wore glasses and they enjoyed having lots of glasses to wear so they could have a different look everyday. Even the girls that didn't need glasses were wearing glasses for the same reason. They each received an eye exam every year as well a free pair of glasses every 6 months as a part of their benefit package. So the ones that didn't need glasses wore non-prescription glasses. Rather than "hiding" them around your house and then later finding them and being surprised, wouldn't be better to get some type of nice enclosed case to keep them all in so you could wake in the morning and decide which pair would be a good choice for that day. Having an enclosed case is best so they don't get dusty and need cleaning all the time, So maybe some type of jewelry case that is big enough to hold glasses and is visible to see through at the glasses. Anyway I'm sure you get the idea. Now, let's talk about the glasses and where you have been getting them from. My girls, my employees, besides getting their free pairs every 6 months they were also ordering more glasses as well as prescription sunglasses form numerous on-line glasses sites. They could only get regular glasses as their free pairs and not sunglasses by the way. So as a result i was able to get a close up look at their glasses and I even checked several pairs to see if the prescription was as accurate as it needed to be. I was not only impressed with how their glasses looked but also the quality was really very good as well and the prescriptions were perfect also. They ordered glasses from Eye Buy Direct and TIJN but they found that they were both a bit more pricey than other sites. however if they wanted brand name designer glasses they ordered them from Eye Buy Direct. The sites t thought were the best and they ordered from the most were Zeelool glasses, Voogueme Glasses, Payne Glasses, Zinff Glasses and Zenni Optical. All 5 offer really cute glasses for under $7.00 and that includes single vision lenses in whatever prescription you wear. Before you order pair number 8 and 9 you should take a look at these sites. Then you can decide if you want to try them out as well for yourself. I was wondering why you ordered your second pair of TIJN glasses with the blue light blocking coating but didn't include you prescription in them. But since you go to the gym after work and you prefer wearing contacts to workout rather than glasses which really does make sense to me because I'm sure your glasses probably do get in the way and are annoying as well. So for you it's easier to wear contact to work and wear the non-prescription blue light glasses over the top of your contacts. But I assume you don't want to bother with switching from glasses after work to your contacts to go workout. Because of your "cute" little flat nose as you called it, you really must prefer glasses with the adjustable nose pads. Now you can order the other type with the molded nose pads but you need them to have a narrow bridge size, A few of my girls had issues with their long lashes so I know all about that from them. Both pairs of TIJN glasses look really nice on you and pair one seems to be your favorite of all your current glasses. i loved hearing about your first pair of glasses from Eye Buy Direct and how you fell asleep wearing them and it should make you feel better to know that is very very common once you start wearing glasses if your nearsighted because everyone has fallen asleep while watching TV and if your nearsighted you are probably wearing your glasses so you can see the TV. I have had to try fixing and straightening hundreds of pairs of glasses for that reason and also replaced nearly as many that were unfixable. But as much as it was terrible to wake up finding your glasses broke it was better than if you fell asleep with your contacts still on your eyes. That's far worse for your eyes. Glasses can be replaced but you can't replace damage to your eyes. By knowing that you have more glasses than just one pair it does tend to make you less careful about your glasses. When you only have one pair and you that pair to see you're going to be a lot more careful not to have anything happen to them because you wouldn't want to be without glasses for a week or more while new ones were being made. Pair number 3 is the same shape as your previous pairs of glasses, only a tiny bit smaller and the frame is black Really cute glasses. The next pair, number 4 according to you, are in a different shape, like a hexagon shape. In my opinion I think they are too big for your face. You never want your glasses to over whelm your face. Those are the glasses you put on when all of your other glasses and contacts are gone and you have nothing else left to wear as the zombies are coming for you. They would be really nice in a much smaller size. However as long as you like them that's the main thing, not what i think about them. i'm only speaking as a critical optician. The last pair are cute enough but if we found nothing else about you, we now know that full plastic frames with molded nose pads aren't your type of frame, unless they have the adjustable nose pads. They do make full plastic frames with adjustable nose pads. So you look so nice wearing glasses, you should try wearing glasses much more often. I do think you would wear glasses more if it wasn't because of working out every evening after work an not wanting to wear glasses to work out in. I'm sure that you are probably well aware that contacts aren't great for eye health and can even cause eye infections and eye ulcers. I even saw a young lady that had a blood vessel growing into the side of her eye as result of her contact wear. There was fear she might loose her vision in that eye completely, but she didn't. She can never wear contacts again however. Have a great weekend and stay safe.

Your biggest fear is well justified. Once you were no longer able to see without glasses, which was probably about the same time you started wearing contacts. The fear of running out of contacts and losing or misplacing your glasses and not being able to see should be very scary to you. Of course that was never a fear before you started wearing glasses and even after getting glasses you were still able to see well enough without glasses to get by and be afraid of not having your glasses to wear. But once you stopped taking your glasses off that should have become an instant gear for you. When you stopped taking your glasses off your eyes simply felt like they no longer needed to do anything to help you see anymore. In other words your eyes got lazy because hey had your glasses in front of them. And then if you took your glasses off your eyes went into shock because they suddenly were unable to see and they had totally forgotten how to see without glasses anymore. I'm a retired optician and I can't tell you how many, mostly young women, came into our store in a total panic because they woke up with an eye infection and of course couldn't wear their contacts. But they never considered something like that to happen so they had never bothered "wasting" money buying glasses that they had no intention of ever wearing. And of course they all claimed to be nearly blind without their beloved contacts on their eyes. But eye infections take time to go away which of course they claimed they didn't have because they couldn't see to drive and even if they got a ride to work they probably wouldn't be able to se well enough to do their job if they got their. They really weren't very happy with me when I told them it would be at least 4 - 5 days to get them glasses. By the way over the years I had somewhere between 30 and 40 with this issue and only one was a man. The rest was all attractive young women. So you at least have done what you needed to do to eliminate at least some of that fear you have. By the way when you wear contacts you are always at risk of having an eye infection or an eye ulcer and even something worse. Having a blood vessel grow into the side of your eye. Now thank goodness that is very rare. So always have at least one pair of glasses along with your contacts and if you were to stop wearing contacts then always have at least two pairs of glasses in your current prescription or at least very close to your current prescription. That was another thing i saw quite often. People that wear contacts tend to make their contacts their primary concern and not really bother getting their glasses prescription updated when they have a change in prescription. Shockingly, many had 4 or 5 increases in their contacts but never increased their glasses. Of course their glasses were then pretty much useless by then. Even after I retired I was trying to help a friend out with getting new glasses. She had picked out 3 pairs of regular glasses and a pair of prescription sunglasses she wanted and she faxed me her prescription and PD measurement. She told me that her glasses were several prescriptions old but she claimed she could see pretty well with them. I told her to be sure to bring her contact lens case so she could put her lenses in it so I could fit her glasses on her and make sure her glasses were made right. We were meeting at a local restaurant to have lunch as well as fit her with her new glasses. I waited for her outside. When she arrived she was white as a ghost from fear. She was wearing her glasses which I had warned her not to do. She admitted that she nearly hit cars several times because she wasn't able to see like she thought she could. I told her being able to see across the room in her house after taking her lenses off was much different than being outside and needing to see things much further away. I took her glasses off of her and compared them to her new glasses by looking though one lens of each pair and her new glasses were much much stronger than her previous glasses. Once I put the first pair on her she was amazed at how well she could see.
