🥲 same unfortunately. They're on a come up though... we are building. And if it wasn't for that bs that let the caps into the finals even though we had same points with more wins, but "tHeY wErE oVeR tImE wInS" so they didn't count??? Makes sense to me I guess 😂 anyway all I'm saying if we should've been the ones to have gotten swept by the Rangers 🤷♀️🤷♀️😂
I love your videos, it seems like you just have an idea and make a video. There's no huge production before a video is made, also love the emotes you shoot at too.
I knew before the video started that Detroit would be the worst. Been a die hard wings fan since 1992, the 19-20 season was absolute rock bottom. Thankfully they seem to have turned the corner in the rebuild, good crowds, fan excitement returning etc. Loving the content, Perls, I look forward to more behind the scenes stories. Best wishes man!
2:19 This part is true about fans not being in the seats. Mickey Redmond even talked about it during a broadcast once. I ended up meeting a guy who worked there and he told me a bit of backstory.. During the first couple of years of the LCA being open, a lot of high rollers would buy tickets (or their company would give them free tickets) and then young women eventually caught on to this. So the girls would try to pick up rich guys in the bars and it created more of an expensive hangout spot for awhile. Random people walking in would join the party because the team was lousy (no offense, but we got last place) and before you knew it, the seats looked barren. Pretty weird how that dynamic formed. Not sure if it plays out like that had the team still been on their record playoff run!
The practice rinks are like getting back to where it all started for the guys! Then game night seems so much more intense and how appreciated you are by all the fans
Very cool to hear about different organizations. I was shocked to learn that not all teams at the NHL level provide individualized meal plans and supplements. I figured that would be standard for every single player. Thanks for sharing!
Super interesting video! That's a massive design flaw when the arena doesn't have windows... it will surely affect one's mood when you spend hours and hours every day in a building like that. Chicago on the other hand sounds exactly like I thought the players would be should be treated.
Very insightful. I've always wondered if players preferred practicing in a separate practice facility or the gameday arena itself. I assumed it was the latter but now I'm beginning to understand how the alternative is more attractive.
As a Hawks fan, was pumped when the Hawks got you, loved seeing that Hat-trick in the UC, you're still young, hope you keep playing and would love to see You on the Hawks again, with that up and coming squad, you'd be a good winger, size, skill, two way guy, hope too see you back again this Sept with the Hawks, older and wiser now and still young enough to get back in the NHL
Okay besides the inside scoop, I’m so jealous of you being at a Great Lake beach. Living in Buffalo for 7 years I went to both Great Lake beaches and they are wonderful!! Also I really wish the teams would treat all players equally.
Love your channel, love the insight into the league. I have a bunch of your rookie cards from different sets .. from your young guns to The Cup Rookie Autographed Patches .. they just went up in value to me since finding this channel and seeing that you are just a normal dude who played pro hockey. I’ll hang on to them forever now.. cheers
Tips really is the best. Tocchet was a nice runner up but Tips and Doan was a legendary pairing. We really did adore you my brotha I'm not glazing. You young kids were exciting af to watch. I say young kids but I'm a year older then you lmfao. Domi, strome, you, it was the shit.
I heard Alexandre Daigle say that when he knew his next 20 years would be scheduled, it hit him hard. Well, he lost passion for the game at age 15, once he scored 50 in bantam, but that’s a whole other topic.
As a die hard wings fan my whole life, it's sad that they were the lowest on your rankings especially given all the great times we've had here with the team. That team was roughhhhh so I don't blame you and I agree 100% the Joe was always rockin! LCA just doesn't have that same feel.
Man it’s such a shame you came to the red wings during such a rough stretch. I’ve been a huge wings fan and I try to go to as many games a possible, I will say as time has gone on and people got used to the shiny new arena and have been sitting in the bowl during the game again. I’m sure the better record this year helped with that definitely though.
Okay, first of all I just subscribed to your channel. I have a question.... in every episode you are wearing a ball cap or a helmet. I can see light colored hair poking out the back. Do you have blonde hair or white/gray hair?? Second question, of the players you played with through the years, who do you think deserves to be in the hall of fame and or have their number retired by their teams??
Been a Wings fan my whole life. When you were traded to the Wings, I was rooting for you to succeed on that godawful team. I really enjoy the content and wish you the best Perls!
As a diehard red wings fan, I 1000% agree with you with not feeling a connection to LCA. I grew up watching games at the Joe, that was a true hockey barn, it wasn’t fancy, but it was special.
Always awesome to hear your stories, thanks for sharing! Great backdrop, I was just in CHI a couple weeks ago - beautiful place. Also, you're giving me Jared Leto vibes in this vid lol Have other NHLers been reaching out? Hope they're showing you some love man PS. your looks at the people getting real close were pretty hilarious. I feel ya cus in a wide open space, I question the people who gotta get right up in your personal space for no reason. Sensors go off, amiright?
8:32 first time playing for another team, the town was 1 hour away, so i was leaving for practice and get home 4 hours later, i was on the ice 4 times during the week and 2-3 times on weekends, i had no time to do anything and it was my first time that I felt like that. It’s just so tiring because you have nothing else to do, especially in bad Alberta weather
It would be interesting to hear about nhl height and weight vs real world height and weight… you hear from guys saying guys under 6ft get an extra inch or two, maybe more. Curious about this… also the other way around, are there players even bigger than their listed height and weight?
Dangit! Saw your comments and was hoping you'd he in the city this weekend, you look like you'd like some of the bands at Taste of Randolph and Phantom Planet is playing Saturday lol have a good time in Mexico!!
Weird question, but I'm curious. I was a Coyotes fan my entire life and watched you play. Something I heard from someone at the time was that you didn't wear socks when you were on skates. Is that true? Love the content by the way!
wow im happy NHL players even understand how hyped and rode off the leafs org is. Half their team is chillin riding out the fan hype and overpaid contracts. "We're treated like Gods here" Toronto Maple leaf legend Mitch Marner once said🤣
