@@AlcaTraZXGscan the enemies and tell Mitsuru what to do and youll never have rhat problem, the issue with fes combat is people hatecit so much on principle seemingly that no one is willing to actually understand it
@@mystrenula3911 Fair point. I did use the tactics menu and I did use scan to find out enemy weakness but still had trouble with the commands because to me it didn't feel as streamlined. Maybe I didn't fully understand the tactics menu because I did struggle with the game. But then moving to P3P felt a lot more enjoyable personally now that you could control the party members. I still wish they made a game where you could have everything from FES but the combat system from P3P
@@tiemevanderhoek6970i agree that the first jail was pretty bad, I even tried refunding it multiple times, but they didn't accept it so I mustered through, and literally everything after that initial barrier was really good, plus it has some of my favourite persona songs, (Koei tecmo known for their hack n slash did not disappoint with the combat either)
I honestly think strikers is pretty underrated since I think it has more interesting villains with good story’s, great battle music, a better mystery in the overall story and has more interesting ideas for dungeons.
Persona 3 soundtrack in a nutshell you either sing to the duhduhduhda or you mumble and here misheard lyrics(like for me in the mall I here solicit lover or cemented lover lol)
Persona 3 FES is brilliant but you can in no way argue its a perfect game. I'd still say its a 10/10 though because even with ita many faults i would still rather play it than another more technically competent but less interesting experience
Glad im not the only one who loves it. Im like 70% through the game and its REALLY fun and story is lovely. I still dont get why the majority of the fansom dislikes it
@@SourChips For what I understand, they expected an RPG, not a musou. I play almost all genres so I personally didn't mind, on the contrary, I loved it.
just the fact that you can run around and pull up your personas, switching them on the fly is great to me. the move sets for all party members are fun too. would love for atlus to make a spin off like strikers in the future
@@adrielalonso1026What killed it for me is that in the jails you cant walk 5 minutes without the game stopping you with a cutscene and states the obvious. In the first jail it was okay since the game have to tell you the ropes but in the second and third jails it was just annoying. Also the bosses takes too long to kill, either im missing something or breaking enemy armor takes ages and all out attack deals barely more dmg then skills idk that genre very well but my favourite thing in megaten games is when i can shread trough the encounters with yoshistune like in smt 5. I really tried to like it since p5r was my first megaten game and wanted to see more of the cast but god the game is tedious even for megaten standards. Dropped the game 3 times already and even tho i really want to finish it i just cant. I really feel like its either a love it or hate it game
OG persona fans would love a remake of P2, but I don't think it would appeal to P5 nu-fans. The setting and character designs of P2 is really outdated, and they can't even modernize the designs very much due to the chronological setting.
The game is pretty solid but have tons of flaws and inconsistency when it comes to releases. I had to heavily mod it (encounter + PSX soundtrack mod) to finally get into it
@@aquamentus8951 encounter rate is bad yeah but that really isn’t the worst thing ever, and the ost is kind of a preference thing. But yeah I get it. Still my favorite game of all time though.
Having played P3P, P4G & P5R, I don't see how in the world someone can say 3&4 are perfect but Royal isn't. To me, 3 has the best story, 4 has the best characters (And soundtrack IMO) But P5R is far and away the most well rounded. Best castle/palaces, Most epic bosses, Easily the best gameplay, Everything about it was great, Super stylish, Great characters, Great story, Great soundtrack, Really have no complaints about it and as much as i enjoyed 3&4, I cant act like they somehow did everything better than Royal. I get OG Persona fans probably get annoyed at all the newcomers and casuals who only know the series because 5 but going against the popularity to the point ive seen many rank P5R as the worst in the series is just petty and comical, I seriously don't get the disrespect for 5, It's easily top 3 in the series and IMO its not 2 or 3. I think each Persona game got better as the series went on, And if there's ever a Persona 6 chances are it will be even better.
I totally agree. I got into P5 because I love phantom thieves, and I've really enjoyed the game and want to try more, but it's sad seeing so many hate it just because it's popular. At least it's still good, unlike some popular things. Also, can I bring you to the Final Fantasy fandom? We got a *bunch* of FFVII haters that need to hear this.
I totally agree with this take. I constantly have to defend Persona 5 ( my favorite) way more than it should. I have to deal with contrarian persona fans and the mainline fans as well. Despite nocturne being my overall favorite, persona 5 was my favorite persona by far. After all the shit talk, the contrarians gave about how persona 4 was miles and away better, I went in open minded, but I have to admit that Persona 4, while still fun and solid in its own way, does not blow me away quite like persona 5 did.
I think some fans dislike it for being too easy compared to 4 and especially 3. I will say it was quite a shock to me coming from the original P4 on ps2 when i could just heal whenever i wanted.
@@krakenandtheratmovies781p5r can make you switch member midfight and swap that heal your hp and restore sp while also increase attack after you down an enemy. Also easier much easier to ambush. I feel like some of its excecution of the story are just lacking for people, akechi for example. Gameplay wise it's a big upgrade compare to previous games. I doubt people not like it as much as 2 previous games is because the difficulty
Persona is easily one of the best franchises. Every game is solid to amazing quality with great stories fun gameplay to boot. Even the spinoffs really are fine additions to the story. Best part is you don't need to play them all to enjoy the latest games cause stories are all unrelated
No it's not, EP is underrated because people often don't even mention it or even worse just treat it like a carbon copy of IS. P1 is full of wasted characters, concepts and has an incredibly inconsistent, unnecessarily complicated and unbalanced game play. Dungeon design is awful and we have like two proper boss fights in the game. All the major characters except Maki have their best appearance in P2 anyway. The thing is sometimes people overrate p1 because of the stuff which came way after the game but playing EP right after makes it incredibly obvious P1 aged like milk while EP aged like wine. Having now a good opening, a good manga which for the most part is its own story not the one from the game and some banger ost doesn't magically turn this into a fun game. People who rank it the lowest are freaking right not because you can't find anything to like (I too appreciate some of the concepts and both Nanjo and Kandori do a really great job) but because it lacks cohesion and manages to be even less structured and purposeful (you're almost never proactive and the rules of the deva world are completely inconsistent) than IS and that was very hard to achieve.
@@edwardsuouthe inconsistent setting is what gives it it's charm. it's like SMT and alice in wonderland, nothing makes sense and that's what people liked about the game.
i’ve only played p5r and p4g but p4 is sooo amazing. being out with friends, doing what you do as the days go by just feels sooo cozy it’s nothing grand like p5, nothing over the top just you and your friends trying to find the murderer i love it so much
PQ and PQ2 have the best music out of all the games. It’s like ATLUS said yo we’re making these two spin-off games just go ham with the soundtrack. Then Lotus Juice spit straight up bars.
you guys did Innocent Sin dirty 😂 If it's story alone then I'll it 3rd after eternal punishment and then persona 3 as first Tatsuya's decision was actually so human you will relate to it even if it means destroying the world... ooooops spoilers
P3 in all it's forms is amazing, P4 was my first in the series so it holds a special place in my heart, and I don't think I've had as much fun in any SMT game as P5R
I dont understand why people so in love with p3, its fighting system with computer controlled team works bad, and the story like ok i guess, i think p4 and p5 have much stronger stories.
P5 has a lot of reasons for being the most popular outside of being a good game. Anime isn't seen as "weird" anymore, it has the strongest visual style, it gives off power fantasy vibes way harder, and it was easier than the other games.
@@Gael-xp4fkikutsuki should not have been a twist villain bro it makes no sense for his actual character. He didn’t even crack any jokes when he was revealed he literally just did a 180 I hate twists like that. It’s definitely my least favorite thing about persona 3. Love the game just hate ikutsuki as a twist villain
P4 stands TO THIS DAY as my favorite game of all time. I have a sealed copy of it and I gifted a copy to a friend who has a ps2 just so he could understand how great it was
P5 Strikers is so underrated, it succeeds in one area where the main game kind of failed. The Phantom Thieves in Strikers actually feel more like friends, because IMO in Vanilla/Royal, they more felt like co-workers. Not to mention the combat was fun, and the story was serviceable
@@CristianMartinez-yc6pr I wasnt a big fan of the first person the layouts of maps sucked the music was ass and then it seemed like it was easier to kill demons then to Is negotiate with them
I found persona games when I stumbled to P3P on a emulator for my android tablet and I got HOOKED. I've played all but not completed. It's this years resolution, I've started Persona 3 Reload.
Unknowingly the psp port of the first persona game(I think it was revelations) was my first experience of the series. That odd mechanic of talking to the enemy to recruit them really threw me off as a kid.
I've only played Persona 4 G, currently in my P5R run and I'm IN LOVE with the game, plot, and characters lol, I think even more so than P4G. I gotta play P3 later 🎉.
P5R is by far the best game in every single way. Style, music, gameplay, dungeons, characters, graphics. Metaphor will be even better without the school/juvenile themes bullshit.
Persona 5 Royal is my favorite. I have the original as well (both steelbooks), but whenever i play P5, I'll play Royal, and I played Persona 4 Golden a little and really like it. Persona 3 FES is pretty good too.
I feel bad for shit talking a persona game because it’s an almost perfect franchise but P3 Portable was kinda a sack of shit; like the new character was awesome and some of the new content was really good but the fact that you couldn’t control the party members and the AI was garbage meant a lot of unnecessary deaths Edit: I would like to apologize for my mistake; I confused persona 3 portable with persona 3 fes. Persona 3 portable have you the option to either go full control or full automatic from the tactics menu. Again sorry
Just got done playing P4Golden yesterday and it was great. Didn't love as much as i did Royal BUT it's still going down as one of my all time fav games I've ever played
As an avid persona fan I believe Persona 3, 4, and 5 to be 10/10 games. Persona 4: Golden is my absolute favorite of the bunch with my favorite Story and my favorite Characters. Also had the most brutal bad ending of any of the games in my opinion (What happens to Nanako made me bawl my eyes out). I also cried when I got the good ending as well just because I didn't want it to be over. My heart will always go back to Dojima's home in Inaba, messing around with my best friend Yosuke.
@@cyanryann64 yeah... I'm sad I can't play FES cuz Atlus decided to port P3P to Xbox... Edit: and new gen consoles as well. Well, at least Reload is coming
@@Psycho_Psy was an Etrian Odyssey fan before Persona, so for me it was the dream game. I guess I just enjoy the calming pace and the map drawing for the sake of itself. I can see why it's not for everyone though.
@@AGGSab What I really didn't like was how everyone's skills would "upgrade" on their own into a version that you can only use once before you're completely drained. Would've been nice if you could hold on to the cheaper skills a bit longer.
