English is my second language, so this might just be me misunderstanding what you’re saying, but if I understood you correctly, I just want to say that these nonconsensual surgeries on intersex children are still happening to this day. Also it’s not just about genitals, sometimes inner organs are removed too, such as gonads that haven’t come down. And it’s not just surgeries, it’s also hormones, “therapy”, and scaring children into never telling anyone else. It’s messed up.
As a genderfluid individual, I agree that our flag is chaos, but I also think that it perfectly incapsulates the chaos that is my gender identity and how I experience gender. Just my opinion, lol

As someone who knows colour theory very well and is taking art as a GCSE, the whole 'The colours dont mix' in a lot of these flags like the NB flag hurts me. Yellow and Purple are on opposite ends of the colour wheel, they're supposed to go together.

I think for many of them, it's not the colors themselves but the balance/contrast between the colors. I think if some were more bold or less bright, the stripes would harmonize a lot better
I absolutely LOVE the gay men's flag, and I would put that in "I will join your cult". I'm bi, but I do have a higher preference for men than women, and that flag is just *chef's kiss*

I prefer the genderflor flag myself, since I'm genderflor. It looks more like a gradient, and the colors are like those of tree leaves throughout the seasons.
color theorist here: the reason yellow and purple clash so horribly together is because they are complementary colors according to the color wheel, the are opposite. Copic Marker Tutorials have a good explanation for it: "Any time you place two complimentary and relatively pure colors next to each other you create visual conflict. Since the two colors have similar color strengths and are polar opposites in every other way they compete with each other for visual attention and end up looking discordant." the best way to fix that problem can be done in a couple of ways, one of which toning down the saturation, or making them LESS VIBRANT. adding a third neighboring color or a neutral color can help with either/or, or making it a tad de-saturated via blending from their complementary colors into gray within the mixing spectrum (like with paint) could help. Edit: meanwhile, Ace/Aro flags are pleasant to look at because of the monochromatic effects of color theory. the ace flag, which i fall under, kinda misses that point, but aro, which my sister is, does that along with the "less is more" approach to graphic design. Edit2: also meanwhile, the flag from time stamp 5:23 flag WORKS because ANALOGOUS :3
I love the ace flag so much. I used to think I was pan and didn’t love the flag, but now I’ve realized I’m ace and I absolutely love the flag, I just want it to be a blanket that I can wrap around me, I want to paint my nails the colors, I want to draw it on my papers at school. I do also love the lesbian and gay flags though, they are perfection and probably my favorites.
The intersex flag looks very cultish & I love it. I'm not a fan of yellow but for pride flags it just works. I really like the nonbinary flag. It looks very edgy.
I find it so interesting just how much tastes can differ because I am someone who finds the aro and ace flags the most aesthetically pleasing (barring the trans flag ofc which is obviously the best) and I find a lot of the brighter ones harsher and I don’t like their colors as much. I also always dress in colorless monochrome+accent of a single color; I really like blacks and greys. Anyway I just found that difference in aesthetic opinion interesting.
same, personally i really love the aro flag colors and the ace flag (but the five stripe one). i like many more but i wish the brightness of colors could be desaturated a bit

As a demisexual, I absolutely love the monochromatic stripes with pops of colour that the flags in "just a flag" tier have. I think I'm just biased because I'm a freelance photographer that works in mainly monochrome with occasional spot colouring
Here here! There's nothing like a black and white photo of, say a person, where the only color is their eyes. I'm such a sucker for that pop of color. Also, I too, am demisexual.
as a lesbian the lesbian flag is the best looking flag to ever exist. as for the flag drama the old one was called the 'lipstick lesbian' flag which was extremely transphobic and excluded masculine presenting people from the sexuality. they tried to remove the lipstick mark and say it was fixed but the meaning was still the same so the sunset lesbian flag, which is the one in the video, was created. one of the striped (white) means gender non-conformity.
@@StarxMoonOnPawzzz it had transphobic roots of excluding trans women and androgynous women for being "too masculine" as well as just masculine presenting women. they removed the lipstick mark to say "look no more transphobia!" but the flag colours still have the roots of only feminine women as like a higher type of lesbian like the gold star lesbian so the entire flag is gross.

As an agender aroace person, your comments about the grey making you dislike them (because they’re cold) I found hilarious, because that’s exactly why I love them. (I mean, they have other flaws, but this isn’t it). Just like cold is just the absence of heat, agender, aromantic, and asexual are the absence of gender and attraction. I think coldness fits their purpose!

As an intersex man, I also adore our flag. I am lucky to have had no surgeries I didn't agree to. Our flag is so bright, and acurate to how many of us feel. We aren’t born broken. We are just born different.

The trans flag reminds me of cotton candy 😊 Also, I think the only reason I like purple/yellow is that they’re decent complementary colours. Red/green immediately goes to Christmas, blue/orange always makes me wanna swap orange with yellow (blue-yellow is one of my favourite 2-colour combos (I also really like black/white-gold, but technicalities say that’s one colour)) and purple/yellow has no issues. I also have comfort associations with purple to hell & back and yellow just makes me happy.

the “old lesbian flag” situation wasn’t an old flag. the one you saw was the actual flag. the OTHER flag was “lipstick lesbian” with more subtle pinks and a lipstick mark on it.. the creator of it had the intention to specifically EXCLUDE masculine presenting lesbians.
