I’m just starting to dip my toes in the perfume world. Scent is so stabilizing for me and it makes me feel so glamorous. I just purchased some samples from BDK and was thrilled to see this video! I love Rouge Smoking and cannot wait to smell other fragrances based on your reviews.
Demi, Gris Charnel is also my favorite since I love FIG scents and it still surprises me that you don't ever mention the most important or yet the main note that you smell with this fragrance and that's the FIG. I'm a sucker for FIG scents which is why I love Philosykos from Diptyque and even the original or first Marc Jacobs for Men Fragrance he came out with over a decade ago which was a FIG scented fragrance as well, very beautiful for a designer fragrance. Anyways FIG does smell like a cashmere blanket being wrapped around you but I thought it would just be helpful to mention the main note that you smell in this for your subscribers that are interested in maybe buying this since you never seem to mention it. The FIG and Black Tea note together is what makes the FIG really "SHINE" in this fragrance, such a beautiful combo in this scent which makes it so beautiful smelling. Anyways, just thought I'd throw that out there for those people interested in maybe purchasing this scent so they know really what they're buying. Great for warmer weather and not so much colder weather IMHO though which is true for any FIG scented fragrance such as this one! Hope this helps and kudos on another great review as always Demi!
Thanks! I also love figs. Philosykos is a bit too perfumey for me and sharp, otherwise it's beautiful. I love it's slight fresh notes combined with the coconutty creaminess. // Premier Figuier by L'Artisan I unfortunately mind too - I love the smell, feels like a more linear simple fig while Philosykos is a bit more complex, but when I wear it, it gets nauseating and cloying to my nose. ➡️ I dislike sandalwood but I'd love to give Gris Charnel a try 😌🤍👌🏽
@@fipah5817 If you do love Fig frags you should definitely try DEBASER from D.S. & Durga. For me personally, Debaser is my 2nd favorite niche fig fragrance so I suggest you give that one a try as well. The Fig also really shines in that one as well. A couple others you could try is FIG MAN by Carner Barcelona and also FICO DI AMALFI by Aqua Di Parma's Blu Mediterraneo line. All of these I just mentioned are all amazing frags where the Fig is the most prominent note. All of them are just gorgeous scents but Gris Charnel is still the KING of Fig scented frags in my book! Anyways, even though it's been a few months since you replied I thought I would throw some suggestions at you while giving you my 2 "scents" on the matter!
@Cat Porter No problem! Make sure you try Gris Charnel's Extrait version that just came out last year. It's a little darker, smokier, nuttier and spicier if you like that. I find most men like the Extrait better and the women like the original. Either one of the Gris Charnel"s you're going to absolutely love though guaranteed, absolute masterpieces IMO! Enjoy
@@THEchad0071 thank you, I very much look forward to it. I'm expecting a trial package from BDK any day now, and Gris Charnel is in it! I listened to an interview with the owner of BDK and he said he wanted to make the Extrait a bit different not just a more intense version of GC...will def try it soon.
love the Max Aroma website.... absolutely love the Creme De Cuir... placed my second order today for Tubereuse Imperiale and the Rouge Smoking! thanks again for your authentic appraisals!
I made my first ever video review on BDK's Rouge Smoking half a year ago and suggested it to Redolessence which got the snowball rolling. Glad the brand is finally getting the love it deserves 😊
$180? 😍 not bad at all! It’s been a long time since I could add some of the fragrance you mention to the cart 😂💸💰 Demi as a video idea what about starting a little series in your channel like revisiting old favorites? And you talk about if you would still wear it, if you still think is worth it for the price, if you should wear it more, kind of like talking about fragrances that you normally wouldn’t talk about like JPG classique essence Mon Guerlain Angelique noir Ect
I have Gris Charnel and Bouquet de Hongrie. Gris Charnel reads SO much like Zara's Rich. Warm. Addictive on my skin. Definitely too heavy for the summer, but I'm excited to wear it in the fall.
Demi, can you do an updated video on your favorite fragrances to layer? I have a lot of the fragrances you suggested and I’m starting to get bored with them. Would love to know what you’re mixing these days. Especially since the colder months are coming in the US.
Strangely for me is the other way around bcs Rouge Smoking lasts more on my skin than Gris Charnel😅 but I love them both. I really think this brand needs more hype because you are like the only parfume reviewer that speaks about it. Love you ♥️
It’s funny because first time I smelled Santal Complet I said it smelled like toasted coconut, in french “noix de coco grillée “ 🥥 and I loved it! So I’m going to try Gris Charnel too ♥️
Received my PAS CE SOIR today after your glowing review & I. AM. IN. LOVE. Opens fruity, purple grapes (almost a grape KoolAid!) but an elegant, sophisticated fruity, that metamorphosis into a passionate jasmine (for which I saw searching!) Dry down goes directly to warm-sexy. LOL I also received the GRIS CHARNEL, but at first whiff, I think I'd enjoy this on my husband more. I don't really like unisex fragrances. I want to smell like a woman & want my husband to smell like a man. But on the GRIS drydown, I LOVE it on me! We shall see...Thank you, Demi, for your reviews.
Sibyl Haynes I know it’s so good! I’m totally ok with people not caring for it, it can be our own 😉. Right now in the warmer weather Chanel no.5 eau premiere is my signature
So, I haven't paid attention to my fragrances lately, but I walked by them today with hearts in my eyes… And thought of you :-) I hope you have a video coming soon, I hope you're enjoying yourself wherever you are❤️
I’m so happy that I’m not the only one who thinks that Tubereuse Imperial and Pas Ce Soir are absolutely amazing. Theyre so underrated in BDK, everyone talks about Rouge Smoking and Gris Charnel although they’re both amazing as well but Tubereuse Imperial and Pas Ce Soir are so beautiful with absolutely addicting dry down. 🤎🤎🤎😍
Just bought full bottle of Gris Charnel after weeks of waiting because it was back order absolutly everywhere! Great great longevity and sillage! The cold weither has just started in Canada and it is absolutly divin!
I love it so much I spray with both hands. 😂 No seriously Gris Charnel is SO GOOD. I wish you’d stop talking about it, (selfish reasons) it’s my signature now. A bit similar to Santal Complet I think, but sweeter and cozier.
Pas Ce Soir, Tubereuse Imperiale, and Rouge Smoking are in my collection and agree they are all so good! I sampled Gris Charnel, love 💓 it too! Thanks for this video!
This is why I love your channel🥰🥰🥰thank you for mention me here❤️(hope it was me😅) Gris Charnel is still my fave theese days❣️❣️❣️but cant wait to make my collection to grow😉
I like Bouquet de Hongrie and I own a bottle, but it’s really a complete copy of Chance Eau Tendre. I found it obnoxious that BDK blatantly ripped off Chanel.
Jen Ibarra I was waiting for someone to notice that too ! When I first sprayed it I was like i really like it but it really reminds me of some other fragrances... and it totally smells like Chance Eau Tendre and Marc Jacobs Daisy too!!
Dear, BDK Parfums is an independant house and we never copied anyone! Bouquet de Hongrie was inspired by the grand mother of David Benedek, and as she loved flowers, we were inspired by the Green side of the flower in the water. Serge Majoulier is the nose behind. We are Happy that you like Bouquet de Hongrie and its floral facets but Bouquet de Hongrie is much more musky and fruity. Best
I do really love the house of BDK Parfums, but Bouquet de Hongrie wasn’t my favourite. I haven’t smelled Chance Eau Tendre so I can’t compare it but it does share some similarities with Amarena from the Bulgari Le Gemme collection. It smells a little too fruity and generic for my liking. I much prefer Pas Ce Soir!
@Demi Rawling I love your videos and i've bought many of your recommendations including gris charnel and santal complet. I noticed that these two have a subtle similarity....not sure if it's the sandalwood but theres a slight but very detectable sweet-sour-cozy component to both that make them quite addictive! And it's interesting that you mentioned a "toasted coconut" note in gris charnel.
I would need a full day wear to test these 2 properly. Still too hot to do that for the moment ^^ Still I've taken my boyfriend as a cobbaye before the heat wave 😅 He wore Creme de cuir for one evening. It had a good projection and a good sillage on him without being a beast mode. For longevity, he wore it just a few hours so a full day test is still needed 😉
Glad it's not just me! Rouge Smoking is pretty but doesn't last on me. I have a sample of Pas Ce Soir. I'm going to check out Gris Charnel. Nice review.
Only BDK I've smelled thus far is Creme De Cuir (got it from Max Aroma with a purchase of Aventus). It's good on my skin, but still a little "eh." Great review, Demi! You're awesome ☺
Today I received three BDK’s : I bought Gris charnel, pas ce soir and Tubérose impériale . I love them all! Super happy with all of them. I do agree that Gris charnel reminds me of Santal Complet ( which I also own) but perhaps without the lemon note? Bottom line, keep up the great work! Love and trust your recommendations for unique niche scents.
I have Rouge Smoking and it's delicious!!❤️❤️❤️ 10/10. I would like to try Creme de cuir, Wood Jasmine and Tabac Rose as well. Thanks Demi, 'Ppreciate it!!
It’s funny, I wanted to buy “Pas ce soir” soon. I discovered it last year and I immediately doused myself in it 😂 it trulu is absolute perfection and I cannot wait to own it 💜 What’s the funny story behind it? 🙂
I got 5 samples of this line and I have to say I was completely disappointed in every single one. Half the smell was just awful and the other the performance was dismal.. even the one that you have raved about being your favorite. Lasted no more than 3 hours on clothes. Maybe my samples were bad but so disappointed.. just wanted to pass along my experience. Love your videos
I tried Pas Ce Soir and I love the smell, but the lasting power is terrible on my skin, it's gone after 3 hours, so I'm not getting a full bottle for such a high price.
Hi Demi, I love Blooming Bouquet by Dior, but I don't like BDK Bouquet de Hongrie. I don't think it is a safe blind buy at all. My favourite from the line so far is Pas de Soir and Smoking Rouge.
Hey Demi! I heard Jeremy saying that Guerlain L’Homme Ideal EDP has been discontinued. From the way you described Rouge Smoking, it sounds like the fragrances are very similar in the note breakdown. Could you tell me which one you like more out of the two?
I wish I could smell Gris charnel on you! Because I don't remember liking it, I got samples and I remember really not liking three of them and then one of them reminded me of flower bomb and then I fell in love with rouge smoking but I'll have to try them again now😊
Did you get flower bomb from the second to last one? I swear they were identical LOL(I think it was that one I know one of them was Flowerbomb to me anyway)
when you said 'if you like miss dior blooming bouquet, you'll like this one', i felt so attacked lol. it's like you know that i was eyeing it xD but i still have like 70ml left of blooming bouquet so i cant justify spending 200 on it when i cant finish it
can u please do a straight low ponytail tutorial or a hair tutorial then spray fragrance on the hair? or a updated applying perfume or perfume hacks video? i miss those videos!!! love ya stay safe in the virus situation!!!
I feel so envious. We have no big stores near where I live and I haven't heard of any of those fragrances. It could run very expensive to purchase them without knowing if they are right for you. Are there any sites to go on to purchase samples, please? I'm in the UK.
