The last vid got a lot of great feedback so we're back again. I haven't looked at new posts on the hashtag yet, just others previously posted I didn't get to see. Don't worry, I'll certainly mix up content with a lot of other ideas, but it doesn't hurt to do a few more of these here and there! The ”minimalist ” enclosure for bearded dragons looks nice but in reality there is just not enough enrichment, hides, climbing opportunities etc. So basically I agree that it’s not ideal for bearded dragons.

the all white one looks like a mental hospital for bearded dragons...which I'm sure is some people's aesthetic

I think the second one is adorable looks like a cottage/fairy vibe. That being said I personally wouldn’t have that for a bearded dragon BUT its so creative 🍀

So normally I try to make some funny or clever comment to try and get a lot of likes, but honestly this time I just want to give a big thank you to Alex for brightening my days with these videos. I’ve watched both your videos: -bearded dragons can have substrate as long as basking temp, UVB and diet is correct -leopard geckos can have lights for their enclosure and UVB, that’s what Arcadia shade dweller is for -halogen heat lamps are a more efficient source of heat due to the UV rays they emit. In the wild burrows are cooler - therefore over head heat is more natural as it allows the reptile to burrow to reach cooler temps

The tarantula enclosure near the end, there's nowhere near enough substrate and needs a piece of cork bark to hide in or something. I hope the person sees this, takes this constructive criticism and look more into it.

I have the little hammock for bearded dragon thingy in my baby BCI enclosure and let me tell you, he likes it more than I expected. He mostly sleeps there and he loves to climb on it !

I’m pretty sure the substrate in the leopard gecko enclosure is paper based bedding usually used for hamsters and rabbits. At least that’s what it looks like to me.

When Alex was talking about the reptile net at 3:49 you were saying it only works for leopard geckos and bearded dragons but my axolotls love them! They stick to the side of the tank underwater and my axolotls like to rest in them, it’s so cute, I don’t use that kind though I use a mesh one.

Oh my God the kitchen with the veiled chameleon looks just like my old house’s kitchen, down to the microwave, cabinets, oven, EVERYTHING except the flooring. Even the layout looks exactly the same. I genuinely thought it was my previous house for a moment.

@13:44 Hey I made it in the video. @GoHerping - My terrapins are only about two years old, so my largest female is about 5 or 6 inches. I did end up adding eggcrate along both sides of the ramp to prevent escapes and filled the tub with another six inches or so of water. There is only about 4-6 inches from the top of the ramp/entry to the nest box to the water in the tub now . The sand was used to fill the massive nest box. When they lay eggs they dig a pretty significant nest, so I wanted to make sure they had plenty of depth to dig when it comes time for them to do so. To do water changes, I use a pump and a long python brand water change hose and just pump the water in the the shower drain in the unfinished bathroom down the hall. I built an adapter to hook the same hose to the hot and cold faucet connections in the wall to refill the tub with the appropriate temperature water.

I have a 160 gallon stock tank with a painted turtle and red eared slider. I found the best way to water change is to have it somewhat close to a bathroom. Use a sump with a hose attached to suck the water from the tank into your tub to drain. Once drained enough take a 5 gallon bucket and put it under your tub faucet and then move the sump from your turtle tub into the 5 gallon bucket. Move the hose from the bathroom tub back to the turtle tub and turn the faucet on and adjust the temperature. Plug the sump in and it will suck the water being poured into the 5 gallon bucket and push it into the turtle tub. The sump could be replaced with a regular water pump if it's strong enough. I got a cheap sump from Harbor Freight for around $50 and it pulls water faster than my faucet can spit out so once I get low in the 5 gallon bucket I'll unplug it and let it fill back up before plugging it in again. This method can also be used for water changes on larger fish tanks. Granted you probably want to use a water pump so you can raise it above the substrate rather than sucking your substrate out with a sump.

I’ve never seen such an honest review! As a viewer it’s such a big breath of relief to hear someone have the same concerns that any of us would have. But I also wonder why you don’t use substrate for your Bearded dragon, his cage seems a little bland :( but otherwise, great video!

If you want gravel and rock decor for turtle enclosures but are worried about impaction - try taking some stones and anchoring them to the base or gluing them together to fit your enclosure floor but are removable while being too large and awkward to swallow. Super glue is aquatic safe once dried if I recall right!

Nice video. I suggest that to feel better about giving low stars let them know how they can improve the habitat. Also I have a Corn snake that loves his hammock. I got it because he kept trying to chill on the top lip of his tank and falling. Since I put the hammock in he hasn't fallen.

16:25 musk/ stinkpots don't swim very well, so they hang out the majority of their time on the bottom of tanks, and usually need longer ramps to get into their basking spots, so low water levels make sense to me! (I'm also not an expert, I've gotten this information from Snake Discovery)

FOR PET SAFE GLASS CLEANER: use 1 part distilled white vinegar and 2 parts distilled water. For tough water spots, add more vinegar. Leaves the glass crystal clear and no streaks!

Idk about anyone else but our corn snake actually LOVED being up high. We put lots of things in her tank to promote climbing and she had fun with it 🤷

Musk turtles are really small turtles, they only get about 5-6 inches. They are also not particularly good swimmers, so if they don’t have shallow water it could be bad .

I almost only use real (safe) plants for my beardie because every time he gets a new plant he eats half of it and I don't want him to eat plastic. Also it's good for oxygen flow

I have 2 reptile tanks and an amphibian tank. I have a cornsnake, a crestie, and two dumpy tree frogs. My crestie and baby corn are both in 10 gallons and the frogs are in a 20 gallon :)

The theater one (first one) looks amazing, but is it good to house animals right next to loud speakers like that? Maybe the speakers aren't in the tv. But if they are that seems like kind of a stressful environment.
